Title: No News?
Description: Is this a good thing?

Cloudsgirl - November 22, 2004 04:22 PM (GMT)
Well, I've been scavaging AC.net but there haven't been any significant news about AC for awhile. Does this mean they're going to give us a new trailer like tomorrow? Or... I'm going nuts waiting for it!

Anastar - November 22, 2004 07:02 PM (GMT)
You have to consider that they've shown us 25 minutes worth of the film already. That's more than most companies show in all trailers combined for a new game or movie. So I don't think we'll be seeing many more visuals. We may get occasional screenshots in different magazines and some interviews... but I doubt there will be much more for awhile. :(

I'd assumed that when everything stopped the movie was about to come out, but then it got set back again. So, I dunno*shrugs*

Eventhough I don't like to admit it I agree with Anastar. I doubt they will realese much more untill the actual movie comes out. It would be nice to have a few more pics though. ^_^

Well, we do have the film festival in Paris on December 1-3. Each film festival has been slightly different from the others, and we usually see a few pics right before the film festivals. So there should be a bit more information when that film festival arrives.

I remember that last year, Square put their AC website up during Christmas week. It was so close to Christmas that it was almost like a present. Perhaps they'll give us a present for Christmas this year, too?

Yeah, and we have our own reporter! Coral is going to the film festival and can let us know what happens! :D

*Imagines Cloud wrapped in Christmas ribbon under the tree* Um... LOL!!!!

A good present would be MORE SCREENS OF AERITH AND CLOUD!!!!! ^_^

Anastar - November 23, 2004 02:27 AM (GMT)
Yes, CloudxAerith for Christmas! *woot* :D

I think we should all go with Coral to watch the Film Festival in Paris. Uematsu's suppsed to be there, too! :D Coral should ask him why he's not going to use Aerith's Theme in AC. *schedules an interview*

There's also that DVD coming out in Young Gangan soon... it's supposed to have excerpts from DC, AC, Itadaki Street, and BC. There will probably be a bit of new information in that, but I don't expect a lot.

LOL! Correction, the AC site was launched on Christmas Day itself!

W00t, first Sunday of Advent this weekend! *crosses fingers for something to happen*

Sefie - November 23, 2004 04:46 PM (GMT)
The movie coming out would made a nice Christmas present...

Was it on Christmas Day itself? :o I guess it was a Christmas present then! :D

*hopes for CloudxAerith as a Christmas present this year*

They've already said that's not going to happen. They just recently said about 2-3 weeks ago that AC was only about 60% done. Square now says it will be ready for release in Japan in early 2005, which can mean at any time between January and April, 2005. :(

In a sense, I wish Square hadn't released all it had so soon... since it'll be awhile before the movie comes out. They didn't pace themselves. Now, if they release anymore, they'll practically be giving the storyline away.

Sefie - November 30, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Buhon's got a good point. Really, they've already spoiled alot of the movie. Maybe all they've got left is huge spoilers that they can't show. What SE SHOULD have done is paced themselves on projects. FFXII was going great, until they announced AC, and then suddenlyt it dissapeared off the radar. AC was going great, until they announced BC, and it got set back. And the same thing keeps happening. You'd think such a big company would be able to handle so many projects at once but...d'ya remember the good ol' days? When they'd just go one game at a time? Then the games got out at a reasonable pace. I didn't have to wait NEARLY this long for FFIX, and I was counting the days.

Seriously, what do we actually know? That 25 minutes of the movie they have shown to some lucky few means nothing to us as we have not and will not see it. We can pick some hints from here and there and try to figure out what the story will be like, but personally I do not know all that much. So they have hardly spoiled anything or told too much. We actually know very little. That is how I see it. ^_^

I seriously doubt BC was the reason why the release of AC has been pushed further a little. Each game/movie has it's own group working on whatever needs to be done. Very few people there are working on more than 1 project at a time. But times change and a large company such as Square-Enix needs to work on more than one game/movie at a time. The competition now is so intense unlike several years ago.
