Aerith_&_I - October 26, 2005 10:14 PM (GMT)
why are we in this world? what is the meaning of life?

Rufus ShinRa - October 26, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
we are here because we are, the meaning of life is what you make out of it^^

Raist - October 27, 2005 02:09 AM (GMT)
Read a little Nietzsche. It might give you some insight.

Mrs.Loz - October 31, 2005 04:19 PM (GMT)
We are here, because of man and woman making love = babies.

Meaning of life, there isn't a set one really.

Thommas - October 31, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
The world was created first by some kind of cosmic strangeness... (weird...ness ?)
I mean something we don't know really about but we are certain it started like that...
Then cosmic expansion... the universe... life... atoms etc... polycellular beings... animals etc...
And there we are :)
Typing on a keyboard :P
There is no explanation nor meaning of all this... it's just the way it has to be because of the past...
I also think that our life is already written... we don't control anything as all depends on the past... like in Matrix, the Merovingien... he said choices are just illusions... I believe it's true :D

"Nietzsche" < good choice ^^

Raist - November 1, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
Thommas you're French right?

Ever read any Camus or Sartre?

Carmencita - November 1, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
We're here because we were born and because we're able to survive.

The meaning of life? I'm afraid that if I search for it, I'll just get lost looking for it.

Kuki Prower - November 1, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
We were out on this Earth to achieve the dreams we wanted. To bring out our hopes and reach for them and bring them into a thing which we call reality.

The meaning of life is unique to everything that is alive, people, trees, animals and even the Earth itself. It would be useless to try to figure it out as everything has their own one.

To fulfill God's general purpose of life of all humans and each of our own individual purposes.

goddess_in_pink07 - February 11, 2006 04:48 AM (GMT)
Well.... thats a tuffy. Theirs so much to life. I guess... its really how we see it in our perspective. People see situations differently. :D
God has a plan for all of us. I guess he will decide.

What is the meaning of life...?

The question itself is too vague, because It depends on how you interpretate the word "meaning".

There are no true scientific view's on the matter of biological life, beacuse its observable biological function is: to continue and to reproduce itself.

So science uses different questions.... "What does it do?", "By what means?", and "To what extent?", rather than the "For what purpose?".

The question "What is the origin of life?" has resulted in the big bang theory ect...

Every view point interpreates the question in a different way, from spiritual views, religious beliefs or a philosophical view...

The questions that spring from "what is the meaning of life" result in a wide range of competing answers and arguments, from there respective area.

And after that, Im not sure what I belive, about why we are here.

What you see is what you get...

For ourselves.

My science teacher said the meaning of life is the number 43 or something :lmao:

lalagirl - February 16, 2006 06:06 AM (GMT)
waaaaa?? the number 43? why?

my, your teacher's weird..

anyway.. we're here because God wants us to do something... He has a mission for us... and the meaning will be revealed once we fulfill that mission...

well.. at least that's what i think.. :gift:

daydreamer198 - February 16, 2006 07:04 AM (GMT)
The lady at the Science Museum said that too. I guess it's some kind of logical thing worked out by scientists.

Maybe scientists think that people will accept it because they think, "Well, they're scientists so I guess I should listen to what they say." Sounds stupid. You find a site that talks about, I will look it over. But until that time, :lmao:

I beleive the meaning of life is to fulfill God's plan for you. I don't beleive in shoving my faith down people's throats, but I will defend it.

Granleon - February 24, 2006 12:07 PM (GMT)
Actually, "The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" is 42 in Douglas Adams' fictional "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". There is no real scientific meaning behind it.

Scientists usually like throwing around "42" because: (1) we're somewhat nerdy :D, and (2) the meaning of life really is a philosophical question. No scientist will ever be able answer the "meaning of life" as it is not an observable phenomenon, nor can any phenomena be predicted by a hypothetical theory on the meaning of life...
