Title: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Description: Anyone seen this on Nick?

So, if you've watched it before, what did you think?

I just saw a new episode and thought that it was such a pity that Nick only shows a new one every couple of weeks or so. This is their only sort-of anime, isn't it? I'm quite fond of this series (for all its 16 episodes so far), but I've heard people say that it has a childish plot, pretty much simple adventures. Still, I'm always most impressed by the animations (if anyone saw today's The Deserter, the fireworks were awesome!).

I saw an episode a while back. So, is this America trying to be cool and create an anime? It has an anime feel to it. I like the animation, but I don't reall like the voice acting.

I would classify it as an anime, but then again, not completely. I got the feeling that there've been so many of these hybrid shows (eg. Totally Spies). None of them were good except Avatar, in my opinion.

Ohhh, I love this show! :hyper:

I think it's cute and I like the animation. Sokka reminds me or Shikamaru from Naruto.

I watched a couple of episodes I thought it was awesome the animation and music are great! I watched it for a while and tried to keep up with it but I forgot when it came on I think Friday? So I missed a lot of episodes.

But, yeah it's a good cartoon I think.
My favorite character so far is Sokka
Aang is cool too.

I've only watched the first episode last week. :hyper: So far, I like the cute little bubbly feeling, and I want to go ahead to watch it. ^_^ The anime feel is kind of overused, but I just disregard it and continue.

In's one of the better faux-anime out there.

This show is starting over here pretty soon, it looks quite good. But America already has their "anime" show. Teen Titans is hugely inspired by Japanese animation with the art style and gags in it.

Schala - November 4, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
Teen Titans! That's such a good show! Right, that's definitely one of the best "animes" out there.

Anyway, today's Avatar (something about the air bending temple being attacked by the Fire Nation) wasn't that interesting. Truth be told, I watch it mainly for Zuko. :P Katara's a pretty good character too, I guess. Maybe the only one I'm not too fond of is Aang himself! Go figure. -_-

OOOH! This is a very good show, I like it a lot! :D I love the little monkey thing 'Momo'...! :D

I've never seen it,I don't watch any tv anymore lol except reality shows. I used to watch nick when I was little, now if they started making/hosting REAL anime you bet i'd watch tv again.

Schala - January 27, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
Nick showing real anime? I'd really be shocked if that happened. :o Nope, that's why I watch Cartoon Network's Toonami every Saturday night. Anyway, I'm disappointed that Avatar's second season hasn't started yet. The season finale was awesome! But I'm still waiting for Zuko to come around and join up with the good guys (come on, it's obvious that he was always meant to help Aang!). It looks like there's going to be a new enemy in town. Interesting...

goddess_in_pink07 - January 28, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
Yeah! I do actually like it! I didn't know if it was anime, but it felt like it. I do agree, the plot seemed kinda childish, but hey its on Nick. It can't be anything too serious. We have little viewers watching! :D

thats so true :D
