Title: Dose Aneyone Else Think...

i'm sorry for those who do not agree but disney is a piece of ****! To me thay ruined it all by mixing the two...

Heh. I disagree.

Let's look at it this way. IF it were a game consisting ONLY of Disney characters - do you think it would have sold as well as KH did? The reason why a lot of people bought KH was because they merged it with FF characters. Not just FF7, mind you but also FF8, FFX etc etc. I mean, Disney already has heaps of games with just "Mickey's adventures!" or "Pluto's Ultimate Quest!" or something like that.

More sales = more money. More fans, more better for them. Considering the large fanbase FF has, merging with Disney was a very smart move, not to mention a completely new idea (and very creative at that).

The whole Sora story was pretty good as well. I don't see what's not to like. Maybe it's a bit kiddy for some, but it's a bit of light-hearted fun. That's what games are for - fun.

Plus, we get to see Leon worrying about dalmations! How great is that? It doesn't affect the original games either because KH is parallel to the FF world. I see no harm in it, just an extra bonus to the fans. ^_^ I certainly enjoyed it. if only I didn't die so often...

That's my two cents.

No KH has deep theories running through it's colorful worlds and fancy characters. You should not judge KH merely by its disney-ish outlook. The FF cameos aren't there for no reason, especially Cloud and Aerith, they too help to depict the light and darkness concept.

Yours truly,
defender of King Mickey :winner: lol

Kingdom Hearts was awesome with the FF touch! I never thought it'll work (I bought it for Cloud when I saw him on the back cover  ), but it did! I thought that Leon, Cloud. and Sephiroth too, really brought charisma to KH... :P FF works because it has the same good versus evil thing that so many (if not all) Disney shows have. To me, it just all fits.

princess_Garnet1866353 - October 19, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
Well, Just sayin, I have played KH and i just don't like the fact of it beeing merged with Disney, if it had diffirent charictors of theyre own insted of ff charictors, i justdon't think tat disney and ff should be on the same game, it makes ff sound kiddish...

Yukari - October 19, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
I think Kingdom Hearts was definitely a winner. For me, the nostalgia of seeing the characters from my favourite disney films from when I was a kid was half the fun. And getting to visit Halloween Town won me over hands down. The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favourite film ever.

I don't think they ruined FFVII at all. Kingdom Hearts was great fun, and had just as deep a story as any FF game, Disney characters or no. Sora, Riku and Kairi were great characters, and I thought their relationship was handled very well. The Disney worlds and characters may have been aimed at the younger set, but that doesn't mean that Kingdom Hearts was any less accessible to adults. In fact, it was probably more so, for those (like me) who grew up on Disney films.

People can think it's kiddish all they want, but I'm sure playing through the game and discovering the deeper themes of the story would change their minds. Plus, what's wrong with that little bit of Disney-style lightheartedness? It made me smile, and brought back memories of learning the songs off by heart and singing them to death. ^_^

yeah, itza cuitzy thing but i'm still gunna stand by my words...

again if KH had no accoiation with ff, i think it would be better

BlackWind - October 20, 2005 12:32 AM (GMT)
Sorry, but I think KH was a great game. I positively loved it. In fact...if it wasn't for KH, I would never had played FF7. I had never even thought of owning a Final Fantasy game untill I bought Kingdom Hearts and saw Cloud, Aerith, Leon, Yuffie and everyone else. That was when I went "Okay, I HAVE to get Final Fantasy 7 and 8!!"

chibi15 - October 20, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
KH is the best game ever if I do say so myself. At first I was very skeptical because how can Disney (being Kiddish) mix with FF (which has deep meanings), I brought it just so I can see Cloud and Aeris together and I totally enjoyed the game, it brought back wonderful memories when I was a kid and was watching Aladain and how I had so much fun in making Sora to fly in Neverland!! That's the best!! I can fly as high as I want to!!!

In my opinion they did a fantasic job in merging the two things :fangirl:

Anti-R - October 20, 2005 01:25 AM (GMT)
I happen to be a big fan of crossover games... Super Robot Wars, Namco vs Capcom (as soon as I get a copy I'll play it like mad). So KH is sold for me.

It was a good thing that the people running the show... Sora, Rikku and Kairi... happens to be engaging characters. The story itself is awesome and it's not like Goofy and Donald were the first non human characters usually used for comic relief in RPGs. So I wasn't really sure why it was such a big deal for some people.

Nomura did a fine job at this.

Hehe, I used to think that. I didn't like the idea of KH cause of disney, and perhaps I still do, but after I played it, I love KH despite the disney characters. I propably would like KH better without disney...^^;

*snaps* now thats what I ment. (mostly)

But if there were no Disney in KH... there would be no plot. ^^; Nothing. You'd be left with Sora, Kairi and Riku (I'd read somewhere that they're under Disney too, not SE)-- and a bunch of cameo characters. The FF characters wouldn't have been able to develop the plot, seeing as they barely had anything to do with it.

Disney's characters were the heart and soul of KH. I don't think it would've been Kingdom Hearts without them, although I don't think KH would've succeeded quite as much without the FF cameos to carry it through.

How did the inclusion of the FF characters ruin them? Didn't like the idea of Cloud potentially being beaten by a kid wielding a giant key? :P I don't see how KH ruined them. They were slightly flatter compared to their more developed counterparts in their respective games, true-- but KH just used parts of their more well-known personalities, not warp them into something else.

I honestly don't understand where people get the idea that the FF characters were "ruined".

Ally McBeal - October 20, 2005 07:47 AM (GMT)
no! disney is the half star...if disney wasn't here-..the game would be boring...>_>u..or at least the half of fun
you know howc cool is seeing aeris talking with donald and goofy?
:D
disney is perfect for kingdom jhearts!
no disney= another ff game <_<

Shen-hua - October 20, 2005 04:32 PM (GMT)

At first, my brother and I thought that KH was a game for Kids because the disney characters. I would never had played it but one of my best friends bought it for me as a gift for christmas and then my brother and I played it and we love the game!!

I think that it is a wonderful and sweet game and its plot is interesting. Although I hate Kairi ( for me she seems a little bitch because her design and I donīt like how she ignores Riku  ) I was very happy to see Cloud and my dear Aerith in the game and this fact made me very happy :huggle:

Onigiri - October 20, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
Nah, I just thought that even if the FF characters weren't there, KH would still be as good. I just like KH for KH and not for the cameos.

FF_Goddess - October 20, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
The only reason I bought KH was because of the cameos from FF characters. I was worried at first, but they actually did a good job of sticking with the true form of the characters. They didn't bastardize any of the FF characters in there to conform to some sickly-sweet Disney idea of what they should be like. I am sure glad Nomura had a hand in the project. :P And the game was actually very, very good. ^_^ I really liked seeing FF characters from different games interacting. Admit it, seeing the posters of Squall/Leon and Cloud fighting back-to-back in the latest KH2 promo posters is enough to make any fangirl squeal. :fangirl:

The only problem I had with KH was the voice acting. Lance Bass and Mandy Moore have GOT to go! :puke: And whoever did Wakka sucked big time.

I soooooooo agree with that.....I hope they don't turn out to B the voices in AC  :(

and well to tell the truth I saw a trailer of the game and the only reason I wanted to play it was cuz I saw Sephiroth and I automatically yelled "REVENGE!!!!!' (killing Aerith and all  ) and when he wasn't in the OG storyline I was maaaad  ...........but then when I fought him I was like".................maybe....it's 4 the best  "

FF_Goddess - October 30, 2005 11:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Sephiroth kicks my ass every time! :lmao: I have never been able to beat him! :headbang:

When I first bought the games, me and my sis was curious since we're young and notice KH fanbase so, why not? Also, it have FF characters and we decide to check them out since we only rented FF9 (before buying our own) and wanna check out the other series characters.

It's really cool merge! I grew up watching Disney films (ALADIN! DALMATIONS!) so it's nice to see your favourite Disney characters. :) Also, we get to go to Pooh's world! It's kinda cute.

Though I'm kinda disappointed that Zidane and Dagger wasn't in KH, but the game interest me enough to find other FF games, even if I have to rented them!

Also, I can't beat Sephiroth and yet...MY YOUNGER SIS CAN!!
