Title: Aerith's Role
Description: in Advent Children

What will be her role? Will she have an important role?

Post EVERYTHING HERE !

I think she will, I bet Nomura doesn't forget her huge fanbase, and he said that the fans wouldn't be disapointed ^__^.

I don't know when they will show their face, no idea...they haven't given any hints to it, but I certainely hope that they DO show her face >_<

Nomura really said that the fans wouldn't be disappointed?
Hmm.....
I'm marking his words.
AND HE MUST BE TRUE TO THEM!
...otherwise, the Burning of Nibelheim incident might repeat itself... only this time, in the place where the fictional place originated. ^^' :D j/k
...but I really mean it when I say that he must be true to his words otherwise he might have a lot of assassins trailing behind him day by day after the movie is released.

It's just for his own safety. ^^'

Yeah, the Gamespot review of the Venice Film Festival reported that the whole Advent Children team said that fans of Aerith wouldn't be disappointed. Several mistakes were made in their review of AC at the Film Festival (like they said that the WCM was Rude), but how could they get wrong what the Advent Children team said in an interview?

From all that we've seen, it doesn't look like Aerith will have a very big role in the movie. That doesn't mean that her role will be unimportant, though. Aerith didn't have a large role in Disks Two and Three of FFVII, either, yet her memory and presence, as well as the summoning of Holy, were very significant.

They didn't let us forget about Aerith in Disks Two and Three of the game, and it's obvious that they aren't letting us forget about her in the movie. Too much is revolving around places associated with Aerith, like the lake where she was buried, the Forgotten City, the Sleeping Forest, and her Church. Marlene, Tifa, Cid, Yuffie, and Cloud are all wearing pink ribbons in remembrance of Aerith. The flowers are still blooming in her Church, which means that someone was taking care of them in remembrance of her. Cloud lives in her Church. There's an Angel statue in Midgar that may very have been built in remembrance of Aerith. I doubt very much that the flower field scene will be her only scene in the movie because things seem "unfinished" between Cloud and Aerith. I really feel that Aerith or the memory of her will have some significance in the movie.

Yeh Tifa is right he has to stay true to his words in fear of death threats.

The creator/writer/producer/director of Neon Genesis Evangelion (i forget his name) received thousands of death threats after his controversial end to the series so he remade it in a way to please the fans and stop the death threats. Though he got his own back on them, it was the saddest andmost depressing thing i've ever seen.

So you can imagine what will happen if Nomura screws us over *readies pitchfork*

But Aly is right. You can already feel the presence that Aeris is having in the movie without her actually being there. She will have a large role to play yet. I'm dying to see the complexity of this plot.

I think a reason why they don't show Aeris's face (I could be going out on a limb here) is because she is a Christ-like figure, dying for the people of the planet. That, and because Square wants to tease us. I think the first time we're goin to see Aeris's beautiful face is when she is face-to-face with Cloud, sometime somewhere when the movie is released.

Sounds like it..they want us to SUFFER!

I agree. You have to admit, that is a GREAT marketing ploy. People would be buying AC with the anticipation of finally seeing Aerith's face. ;)

She will DEFINATLY have a big role, either from the Lifestream, or ressurected. She's affected too many people in the game for them to just forget her, and she was too important to the plot to leave out. I really think she'll play some part in defeating the new evils, and curing Geostigma.
And I'm pretty darn sure we'll see her face. But, I doubt there'll be any more pics of her until the movie's released. Like FFGoddes said, marketing ploy. ;) And it IS a good one too

Eternity-Knight - November 1, 2004 06:18 AM (GMT)
I hope she has a decent role in the movie or else Nomura will have many angry fans to deal with me being one of them. Anyway, I really think she will have an important role in the movie because she had an important role in the game.

Tifa Lockheart - November 1, 2004 09:08 AM (GMT)
I think Aerith is going to serve as a guide for Cloud so that he would know what to do with the situation he and their other friends are facing against Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz.

Oh yeah, the wheelchaired guy is Rufus.

You should have seen Tifa dance on that one. :P Anyway....

Yes, Aerith definitely will have an important role in AC.... but I believe she'll only have a couple of appearances in the movie. I have no clue as to how to make her role bigger since she's something between a memory and reality... I hope that at least, she's tangible.
