Squall's one of my favorite FF male characters besides Cloud. He's such a hard shell on the outside, but such a child at heart. The story of his loneliness as a child in the orphanage was so touching, and reminded me very much of Cloud's childhood. He keeps pushing others away simply because he doesn't want to depend on them, and because trusting others let him down as a child.

He's strong, handsome, intelligent, determined, daring, brave, and willing to take risks for the one he loves. He's a complex character, with so much going on inside of him. I love his limit breaks, too. Does anyone else love Squall the way I do? :wub:

Mmm, I actually like Squall more in his SeeD unoform than in his regular clothes. Who knows why as I love the clothes he usually wears, but for some reason Squall+Uniform = Dreamy. ^_^

Squall's cool and I have to admit that he is cute. In my room I have a big poster of him alongside a few other posters of Cloud, Zidane and Garnet, Yuna & Tidus, Koaru & Kenshin from Samurai X, Final Fantasy: the spirits within etc...

And recently I noticed that one of my best friends (guy obviously) slightly resembles him. I don't why but every time I see Squall it reminds me of him and vice versa.

Ooh... FFVIII is the first FF game I've ever played, so Squall will have a special place in my heart. Even Cloud cannot come close to--

Naaah. Cloud will be my ultimate favourite character, even if I did meet him later than Squall. He's all awkward and naive, it's so cute!

My favourite scene of him is in the Ballroom scene with Rinoa, when he was stepping on Rinoa's feet and bumping into people around him. The look on his face is priceless! :D

I'm replaying (it's been a long time) Final Fantasy 8 and I have to say I LOVE Squall sure I always thought he was cool but now that I'm replaying the game and getting reintroduced and actually paying more attention I have to say that I have fallen for Squall I totally can relate with his character and understand his feelings. *Sigh* his so cute. Not to mention funny and his not even trying!

Well, I have to admit that the first time I saw Squall was in KH (ok, Leon) and I totally, absolutely fell in love with him!!! (I´m ashamed to admit it but yes, I first got in contact with FF trough KH and now I´m totally addicted to both)

I love Squall. I remember way back when I first got Final Fantasy VIII, my first reaction was wow, he's hot. Of coruse, I judge people by their personality, but hey, Squall is VERY hot. He also has a great personality and remidns me of Cloud. I prefer Squall to his newer look as Leon. I like Squall's old hair. Oh, cool fact, I've had cats every since I was a baby, and have always had a bunch of cats. Well, when I got another one, I named it Leon after Squall's last name, Leonhart. However, Leon (the cat) doesn't act like Squall. Another one of my cats acted a lot more like Squall then Leon. Leon looks like Squall is he was a cat. I know someone in real life who acts JUST like Squall.

Well, he's certainly the prettiest ff-hero. ^_^ I didn't like him at first but at the end of disk 2 I adored him. He's my second favourite hero after the all-holy-Cloud.

Squall.....blech XP He's the only FF hero I don't like. He's just all of Cloud's faults, without him ever opening up to everyone and being normal.

First time I saw Squall was in KH. I thought he was a pretty cool character, and his hair made him look absolutely gorgeous. :wub:

Now that I actually have the game(W00T) and have been playing it for a while, I really like his character. But, he's such a hard ass though. He's always thinking to himself and never really expresses his feelings. It annoys me when he's thinking about what he wants to say, but he never says it. <_<

Squall does open up. By Disc Three Squall becomes very open and when he gets together with Rinoa his personality changes a lot. He becomes very sweet and romantic. He starts opening up in disc two, and by disc three he has completely changed. When he gets together with Rinoa, he tells her why he's been afraid. In the "Eyes on Me" scene Squall completely opens up to Rinoa. Remember his quote, when Squall hinks to himself "Even if you become the worlds enemy... I'll... I'll be your knight." Squall opens up a lot, especially when he gets together with Rinoa. He's one of the most dynamic FF characters.

But he only opens to RINOA, that what frustrates me so(it doesn't help I don't like her either)

I loved Squall and liked Rinoa. I think they both have great personalities and compliment each other perfectly. I think they are really cute together. Their story is a lot like Cloud and Aeris's. That's my opinion. I actually like every character. Squall and Rinoa are some of my favorites. I loved their story. The "Eyes on Me" scene on the Ragnarok was so sweet. It's one of my favorites. I loved that scene.

I adore Squall - I love the way he acts. He does open up quite a bit during the course of the game, but he's still quiet and introverted at the end of the game. All of his defensiveness is just based on his fears that others will let him down - isn't that why he gets lost in the time distortion at the end? Because he hasn't learned to trust?

sqall is so hot but sometimes i wonder what if sqall and cloud have to battle in the coliseum who would win?

I love Squall. Not for his looks, but for his character. Like anastar said, such a hard shell, but sweet inside. I love people like this, I don't know why. I love anyone pessimistic like Squall! Maybe that's why I love Cloud, too. :wub:

I don't get why peopel say that all Squall says is whatever. It was on this message board with a crazy debate. I wasn't a memebr though.

I'm not much of a fan of FF8's mushiness. And i don't like Rinoa (no offense, Rinoa fans) But when i first played it, Squall became number one on my bishounen list. Of course now his throne has been taken over by many others(AC Cloud for instance. Hubba hubba) but i still love Squall.
I think the best thing about Squall is that he broods and bitches on the outside but we, the players, are the primary witnesses to his transformation. We see how he learns to care very much for his friends, and eventually, how he learned to love(I dislike Rinoa but still, it was love) We see how in the end, the only reason why he was a lone wolf is that he was terrified of feeling the pain of losing the ones he loved. And in the game, he doesn't open up much to the other characters. But we the players see his thoughts so it's kind of like WE'RE the ones he's opening up to.

And yes, it helps that he has a perfect face. ;) Not the sexiest but definitely the prettiest

I think our club name should be "Whatever" for it's his most famous quote. "Lionheart" is kinda cliched.

Great thoughts about Squall, Kusari! (May I call you that for short?) I love how we get to see his transformation during the game through his thoughts. "Silent Struggle" is the name for his fanlisting, which is so perfect.

That part of his story was so touching. I react to that part of his story in the same way I react to Cloud's face in the flower field. I love it when there's so much behind the "cold exterior", especially when there's a handsome face to go with it. :lol:

I dunno about the rest of you, but I couldn't stand it when Square changed his name to "Leon" in KH. That'd be like changing Cloud's name to Henry or something. I know he said he'd change back to his real name when the worlds got restored, but .... Leon?!? *gag* I might react that way because I know an obnoxious Leon IRL who is nothing like Squall. :lol:
