*feels extremely sad for Vincent*
Thanks again DH!
Digital Holocaust - September 30, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
*is getting lots of thanks today and decides to put them in a little glass jar to save them for a rainy day* :D
The HojoxLucrecia theory was something I believed in for a long time anyway, so I'm kinda glad that I ended up being right in the end. :3
yin-chan - September 30, 2005 03:44 PM (GMT)
I always liked to believe that Lucrecia did at least harbour feelings for Vincent, even if they were slight.
Never believed that silly 'Vincent is Sephiroth's father' theory though.
*wants to cuddle poor Vincent* :huggle:
FF_Goddess - September 30, 2005 03:46 PM (GMT)
Poor Vincent... :cray:
Heck, I'll take him if that Lucrecia chick doesn't want him! *Runs off with Vincent* :lust:
Lynn - September 30, 2005 04:27 PM (GMT)
OMFG. Again, OMFG.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Cloud was REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY giving it his all in the cross-dressing department, wasn't he?
*dies. just dies*
~Fury Brand~ - September 30, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
*follows Lynn*
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Apart from that I also really liked the pic of Nanaki and a pup awww :huggle: And the Itadaki Street Character select. OMG Cloud is standing beside Aerith and she is standing beside him :peace: /immature :P
**
Awww thanks again DH :huggle:

Lucrecia had Hojo's baby because, drumroll please... she was in love with him. He was in love with her. They were married. Vincent, Vincent, Vincent... *shakes head*
Yesssss! I was right! I've believed this theory for a long time right now and it's great to have it confirmed. I love that I was right about that!
And Cloud's outfits had me in stitches...but my favourite thing had to be the title of Mukki's magazine! *laughter-induced heart failure* :lmao:
Kaldea - September 30, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
Well that sure makes me ten times more interested in this whole Lucrecia thing in DoC. Vincent obviously still loves her. I'm interested in how it will turn out.

Yeah, I can't wait. :D
Hmm, but what do you guys make of this?

Cloud spent five whole years (from age 9 to age 14) agonizing over Tifa (and consequently, admiring Sephiroth) before joining SOLDIER.
Digital Holocaust - September 30, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
I'm guessing that was him dealing with his guilt for watching Tifa fall from the bridge when she went into a coma.
It doesn't move me in the slightest, it's common sense really, he blamed himself for a while.
Lynn - September 30, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
Um... common knowledge? I dunno, this is coming as no surprise to me, because of what DH said.
Five years is a LONG time to blame oneself, though. And to dream about something. Poor Cloud, no wonder not making it into SOLDIER devastated him so. He was probably banking his entire salvation on it.

...I admit, I thought that last line almost exactly as you said. :ph43r: My rabid Cleris side comes out in spurts. :P

Reading Jen's LJ (I loved reading her LJ for a while, she's hilarious! ...then I lost the link to her journal when I changed computers -_- ), I think I found another tidbit from the Ultimania!
QUOTE
...Professor Gast had a last name? O_o Faremis (ƒtƒ@ƒŒƒ~ƒX)? Hojo doesn't have a first name, apparently... and neither does anyone else. Only Gast.
...Aeris Faremis? |
Source:
This PostDo we finally have a last name for Aerith? :o
Azumi - September 30, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
Thank you for the link! Cloud's crossdressing acessories. . . :lmao:
That's the best, seeing all the dresses and wigs and 'undergarments'. The designers really didn't hold back did they?

That depends whether or not Ifalna and Gast were married.
Schala - September 30, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
You mean Gast was his first name? I seriously want that book! I hope it'll be released in English as well.
Anastar - September 30, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
The Lucrecia thing doesn't surprise me at all. I've always thought that Lucrecia rejected Vincent for Hojo. I've always wondered why in the world people thought that Lucrecia had something for Vincent when she obviously rejected him. *shrug*
The bit about Cloud agonizing over Tifa from the ages of 9-14 is no biggie. That's before he left for SOLDIER. They didn't say that he agonized over Tifa after joining SOLDIER, did they?

Good point. I suppose if they weren't at the time, Aerith would've taken on Ifalna's surname?
Still, you have to wonder why they bothered giving Gast both a first and family name if it wasn't supposed to mean anything. *still suspicious*
QUOTE (Schala)

According to the translator of the Ultimania, yes, Gast is his first name. And yes, I want that book!
More accurately, I want all its pretteh pictures and a full translation of its contents! :woot:
I kinda like the whole thing with Vincent and Lucrecia, actually. The good-looking bishie doesn't always win. :P *is hammered by Vinny fans* But, eh... come on, I'm sure you guys know what I mean! Like the whole Sephiroth = Vincent's son idea, because god forbid a hottie like Sephiroth could've possibly spawned from a wrinkly old coot like Hojo.
Kaldea - September 30, 2005 08:15 PM (GMT)
I should be getting that book in the mail anyday now.
And I am still waiting for DoC to explain the whole relationship further. I'd rather have an in depth explanation. And yes, I do believe that Vincent should be with Lucrecia but who says it won't change in DoC? That book explained what happened in the past and if the girl who looks like Lucrecia is her, who knows what can happen in that game. Vincent is still in love with her and I feel for him so much for putting himself through such pain for her. I hope he can either move on or see her again.
Anastar - September 30, 2005 08:58 PM (GMT)
Did anyone else happen to notice the picture of Sephiroth, Zack, and Jenova from Crisis Core? It looks like the Nibelheim incident.

There's no doubt that Vincent's still in love with Lucrecia, but Tifa's still hung up on Cloud, too. I think the same thing applies to Tifa. Move on, already.
It's funny. Vincent is similar to Cloud because both of them lost the girl they loved the most. However, Tifa is also similar to Vincent. Lucrecia didn't return Vincent's feelings in the same way that Cloud doesn't return Tifa's feelings.

Notice it never said that those feelings lasted until his age 21-23 (real meat of the story). :D
I knew Lucrecia loved Hojo and she couldn't love Vincent! IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE! :dance of victory:
Seii Monogatari - September 30, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
Ha ha, I jokingly wondered for the longest time if there was any relation between Sephy and Aeris. I died reading that. xD
Aeriseph = INCEST!!!1 :o SIN!!1~
:P

Edit: Never mind just noticed the "Chapter 6 translated thread"
Onigiri - October 1, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
That Seph-Aerith brother/sister thing hilarious! Imagine how the game would have been if they decided to keep it! and I always wondered about the bangs thing..

Send that to TSQoH.
Onigiri - October 1, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
I don't know why people keep mentioning the friends things...Nomura in the commentary (to show the link?) and ultimania...I mean...wasn't it realllly obvious they were friends?
Kaldea - October 1, 2005 02:39 AM (GMT)
Clotis like to say that Tifa hated Aeris and Aeris was just a jealous wench. Common sense isn't so common with them.

Or maybe Aeris had taken Elmyra's last name? Just a thought.
And a super big YESSS!!!!! to the Seph/Aeris brother/sister relationship. (Half bro/sis, I supposed?) Square should have totally done it that way. The "brother" is always haunting Cloud while the "sister" is always helping him.

That's how I see it too! I think it would have been a superb idea making them siblings! Why oh why SE, did you drop such a brilliant idea :cray:
Vinny kun is such a poor soul :o He's silently blaming himself all these years for failing to save a woman who isn't in love with him to begin with... Vinny is DA MAN!

yes, i do believe that Aerith's last name is taken from Elmyra's. I think i read this somewhere, but i don't remember where...
yin-chan - October 1, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
Wasn't Aeris's last name Gainsborough though?? I always thought it was..
Kaldea - October 1, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
It's Gainsborough. Aeris's last name shouldn't change at all.
Lynn - October 1, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it's Gainsborough, but we don't know whether it came from Elmyra or Ifalna. It could've come from Ifalna if she and Gast hadn't gotten married when she had Aerith.
It could've come from Elmyra since Aerith became her adopted daughter in the game (like Barret and Marlene Wallace). She could've been "Aerith Faremis" before that happened, just like I'm sure Marlene has another surname before she was adopted by Barret, and is now officially known as "Marlene Wallace".
Mahou - October 1, 2005 07:46 AM (GMT)
I always thought Aeris got Gainsborough from Elmyra. Though in fics I wrote, I always gave her the last name of Gast. I like Faremis though.

Yes so do I! That could maybe explain the early VII artwork that Amano did of Sephiroth and Aerith together. And that would be truly haunting to Cloud, to see his love be killed by her own brother!

Well, Vincent does look more like him than Hojo, so I understand were the theorie came from. But since there was no hint towards Vincent being the father I thought it pretty stupid to asume so. I was all :lmao: when in a fanfiction the writer joked: "He certainly didn't get his looks from you." (being said towards Hojo).

That would have been great. I somehow think its cute - yes you may beat me for this comment, forgive me.
Anti-R - October 2, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
Apparently people conviniently forget a baby can also gets its looks from its mother. -_-
And I doubt Vincent fell in love with a crone.
