Title: Boss Help
Description: Having trouble w a boss or two?
BusterBlader - September 23, 2005 06:50 PM (GMT)
Any body need help with beating a boss? I can help you.(Except for Sephiroth, the Phantom and Kurt Zisa. I haven't beat them yet.) Come to me and I will try to help you. :D A suggestion, if you beat Ursala the first time wait until you rescue Kairi to fight her in the large and ugly as ever form. It's so much fun! :D
Schala - September 23, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)
Ugh, Ursula was a little problematic. I think you had to hit the eels first or something? The fight with the Black Dragon was tough... so was the second time you Riku at Hollow Bastion. He's just so fast! But Aero was very helpful. :)
If you find tips for fighting the Phantom please share them; even though my brother managed to beat it, it'll be nice to know an easier way.

Agreed, Schala. I have a save in the Castle Chapel before that fight because I love the scenes afterwards where Sora wakes Kairi. So cute. It's just a shame that Riku's so fast in that battle because it means when I haven't played in a while he smacks me around about 6 zillion times before I finally beat him.
I think any battles where you don't get Donald and Goofy's help are tough. Probably because I always rely on them to heal me so I don't have to waste time doing it myself.

I've got the official guide so I'll type what it says.
Phantom
HP: 1200
STR: 42
DEF: 34
EXP: 9999
You need a great number of MP, you should provide Sora with Elixirs and rations of Ether. Equip accessories that increase Sora's MP. If you are taking Goofy along, equip his MP Gift ability. Sora's corresponding abilities (such as MP Rage) should be equipped.
The Phantom will only sustain damage if you hit its glowing orb with the correct attack. The colour of the orb will indicate how you should attaclk: white - normal bows; red - Fire magic; blue - Blizzard magic; yellow - Thunder magic. Any other attacks will prove ineffective. The orb will change colour after a while or when struck. After being struck three times, it will temporarily disappear.
The Phantom curses members of your party causing a timer to appear over that party member's head. This timer will start a countdown from 12. Whenever the minute hand on the Clock Tower moves forward by five minutes, the number on the timer will drop by one. The character will become knocked out when the timer reaches 0. You can delay the countdown but not indefinitely. Target the minute hand on the clock and cast Stop on it to prevent it from moving for one minte (real time). After that, you should periodically cast Stop magic on the hand again to keep it in place. Peter Pan will be cursed first, followed by Donald or Goofy. Sora will be affected last. You will lose this battle if the timer reaches 0 before the Phantom is defeated.
Your opponent will occasionlly fire an energy ball at Sora. If this hits him, Sora will sustain damage up to five separate times. You can aboid this attack by hiding around the corner of the Clock Tower. You can neutralise the ball of energy will Aeroga, if you remain motionless.
Following your victory over the Phantom, Sora's Stop spell is upgraded.

I'll give you what the guide says.
Chernabog
HP: 1500
STR: 40
DEF: 30
EXP: 15000
In the Evil Grounds you immediately engage in battle with Chernabog. You should land near your opponent's toes or on its shoulder and summon Tinker Bell. Aero magic for protection may also be of use. You must hit the monster's head, preferably from the side while you are airborne. Chernabog breathes flames and casts various spells. Quickly move away when its body gives off wisps of fire, as soon after, it will be shrouded in flames. Following this battle, Sora will learn the Superglide ability and will be able to fly into the depths of the volcano.
Hope that helped. ^_^

I've been wondering...Shouldn't I have that
Diamond Dust keyblade after I defeated Ice Titan? I won it (took so much time), but I didn't get the keyblade. :(
Lynn - September 29, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I think you only get the Diamond Dust Keyblade in the Final Mix version.
Kuki Prower - September 29, 2005 06:45 PM (GMT)
Yeah, its only in Final Mix.
eyes of a fighter - September 29, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
Hehehe YAY! :D I Beat all The Bosses including Phatom Kurt Zizaand Sephorith (sorry for the bad spelling)
The Key to Beating Phatom is having Donald in your PArty When you are fighting him Chech the Clock Tower Every Mintue Stay Near the Clock Tower At all times A way to make this battle Easyer with Magic is they MP Rage I think it is Whenever your Hit you Gain MP so you dont have to use Eithers that Ability is Extremly useful Agiest Kurt and Sephy
Also another Boss that Chagonbog Thing
Dont worry about Donald or Goofy in this fight until you need to be Healed
Cast Aero or whatever Version you have of it Fly Up to the boss as Close as you can get Quickly go behind his Head Aero Should be doing damage also Just attack you will be attacking for about 30 seconds to a mintue so do as Much Damage as Possible. When you need to Be Healed Try Healing your Self its useful to have Cure as a quick Spell on X if your out of MP and have Phoenix Downs use them on Goffy First Always hes most usful When the Boss Gose Mid evil Crazy With his Most Powerful attack it means hes almost dead Fly Far To the Left as you can Get Behind his Head and Finish him this should work

Thanks for the tips, Leon! I'll keep that in mind the next time I fight the Phantom.
The Diamond Dust keyblade looks so cool... It's beautiful... But it's only in Final Mix! I hope I'll get to see it in KH2. Does anyone have a picture of the One-Winged Angel keyblade?

Schala - September 30, 2005 08:12 PM (GMT)
Oooh, nice... Thanks, eyes of a fighter! I like how One Winged Angel has a katana's hilt (Masamune's?). I like the Diamond Dust better though. That's one of the most beautiful weapons I've ever seen! The design is awesome!

[QUOTE]... so was the second time you Riku at Hollow Bastion. He's just so fast!
Here's an idea, when Riku zaps back and forth, make sure that he is doing the attacks that he starts using at the begining of the battle. This helps big time, because you can heal faster and you don't have to worry about Riku throwing his keyblade at you.
This is how you get him to attack you w/ level one attacks at his green HP meter: First, deplete his orange HP meter, when you do this, his attacks will get stronger and he throws his Keyblade at you. Second, deplete Riku's yellow HP meter w/ caution. I say this because after you knock him down or he is done using his level one attacks, he'll charge up his attacks. Wait until Riku is down to his normal attacks, then attack him. when Riku has a little bit of his yellow meter attack him and don't stop attacking until you see his green HP meter. That said, Riku will be easy to beat, heal often and glide when Riku zaps back and forth. You will win the ability Ragnarok for Sora.

I agree with Schala, I still can't get past Ursula. I think I attempted to beat her oh, 30 or 40 times...pathetic, I know. -_-;

not that i'm shamelessly bragging, but ursula was a heck easy for me. just dodge the water stuff she throws, lock on, mash trriangle and x button( triangle to command goofy/donald/ariel to attack). keep close to her face, specially the baof her head, and mash her with all your combos!
afterglow - October 29, 2005 12:50 PM (GMT)
^ Lucky you. I had trouble with Ursula big time. She was such a pain.
BusterBlader - November 12, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
How can you have trouble w/ Ursala?! She's very easy to beat. Make sure you have the Fairy Harp and/or Lady Luck keychains. The key is to have a lot of MP. Lock on to the Cauldron. Cast the correct spell and when Ursala is stunned unleash many combo attacks against her. The second form, all I have to say is SLUGGFEST! Lock on to Ursala and chain combo attacks until you defeat her, heal when your HP is low.
Zuea - November 14, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
well, i have to say kurt zisa's really a pain in the neck, but once you finished him, its very fullfilling. Equip donald goofy, and of course, sora with megapotions and other important healing items, and be sure to have a safe elixir on your pocket. kurt zisa's first turns are fairly easy to dodge. oh, and be sure to cast Aeroga/Aero whichever you have. trust me, it'll be a lifesaver in every battle. Also, use your shorcut buttons wisely. Anyway, when kurt zisa's beat down, lock on his arms/hands and smash away, while mashing the triangle button to also call for goofy and donald to help you. he will spurt out hp/mp balls after smashing a part. now things will get brutal. summong either bambi or tinkerbell to help you. when kurt zisa does his horizontal attack thing (like a top or beyblade, but...you get my point), use highjump, then glide around and AWAY from him. If he does his vertical slash thing, use dodge roll and roll around. This takes perfect timing. If you get hit, heal. and always make sure you have aeroga on. after those spinnings, there is a time where he stands firmly on the ground, doing nothing. This is your cue to mash him. use all your combos, and repeat this until he's toast!
