Well, Sefie decided she'd like to start an RP too! But this one's gonna be a bit different from the others. I would like this to be an advanced RP, meaning that only experienced RP'ers, or those that are just naturals, will be allowed to participate.
If you would like to participate please send me a PM and I'll give you a scenario to respond to. You can make up a character for the test, or just use one you've already got, then simply PM me back your "post", and I'll review it.
I'll be inviting those I already know the talents of
Guidelines: Proper sentences. I'm not going to require you have a noun that does the predicate to the subject or...whatever :D Just make sure the first word is capatalized, proper nouns are, you add a period at the end, that kinda thing. Spelling is also important, and I'd like you to avoid using "netizms" or acronyms and the like. No "plz" or "lol" plz :D lol
Ah, and paragraphing too. I've never noticed anyone in this forum to do it, but nobody likes to read walls of text. If you have a long post, break it down into paragraphs. They're just easier to digest

I do have a general plot outline in mind, but I like to surprise my fellow players, so I'll push the plot along using my character and NPC's, but don't be afraid to add some plot points of your own along the way! I'm a TERRIBLE story writer, and we're all working on this together anyways!

Now to the fun stuff!

Setting:

Typical fantasy world, but magic isn’t as prevalent as usual.

Story:

Two neighboring kingdoms have shared a symbiotic relationship for centuries, even though their people don’t get along so well.(The two cultures just don’t seem to mix well. Steinnis’ people are more serious, while Reinlenders are carefree and friendly)
Reinlend is the agricultural of the two. Their country is mostly rolling fields and is perfect for growing food, and they’re able to grow plenty for both countries. Of the two countries they also practice the ancient art of magic more, but as there’s always so much work to do in the farms they don’t take much time to hone their skills.
The villages here are usually small and close knit.
Steinnis is an advanced (for the setting) country. The people live in cities, and magic is only used to make life easier, much like electricity, and only a choice few can even do it. Other than that they have completely forgotten about it. They are a stronger people, and have the grandest army in the world. They rely on the people of Reinlend for their food, and in return they offer protection from the other countries.
Their cities are large, tend to be dirty and tough.
Recently the king of Steinnis died, leaving behind no heir. The steward (Grantsfeld) then took over, and for awhile it seemed that everything was going to continue as it was before. But then suddenly the peace of Reinlend was ripped apart by Steinnis’s army. The soldiers that had been peacefully guarding towns suddenly turned on them, occupying them and taking what seems like random captives to the capital city St. Lyrie.
Steinnis’s army is continuing to move through Reinlend, attacking villages, taking their captives, and leaving only enough to keep producing food (under the watchful eye of small legions left behind).

Specific locations:

St. Lyrie- the center of Steinnis. Your typical fantasy large city. White gleaming streets and beautiful buildings. It wraps around a hill with the palace at the top, over looking the city. A team of 5 mages is in charge of keeping things running comfortably. (Water for plumbing, fire for heat, Earth for building, Wind for air conditioning, and a healer who watches over the hospital).

Attchison- the main and largest town of Reinlend. Compared to St. Lyrie, it’s way behind. Large, spacious dirt roads and large buildings for government meetings(since all the government officials live in different villages they come together once a month to meet), plus shops and the like. A bustling town as far as Reinlend’s concerned. It was the first to be occupied by Steinnis’ army

(BTW, I’m not crazy about the names Grantsfeld and Steinnis. If anyone has any better suggestions for names I’d appreciate them >.<)

I won't be joining right away as I've decideded the scenario I want to use for my character, so after we get a few players I'll start the thread in the RP forum

Name: Kano Mitsuhara

Age: 19

Appearance: Black eyes and hair, various tones of grey and black in clothes, brown and red boots, and dark green ribbon around hair. On the back of his coat are the words 'Ear no evil'.

Weapon: Two pistols, the left one 'See no evil', and the right one 'Speak no evil'.

Story: Kano came to St. Lyrie just when the war started. He's from a small town in Steinnis, where he lived with his parents, older sister and younger brother. But he got tired of the people that lived there and that couldn't accept someone different, like him. He was deaf, ever since he was born. Kano has no problems with understanding other people, because he can read lips. He travelled for half a year until he finally reached the capital city.

He's very quiet and calm. He'll only speak if he has no other way to express himself.

Name: Sara Blackwood (yes it is random! :P )

Age: 19

Appearance: Her eyes are light blue, and she has wavy sun-streaked brown hair that is slightly longer than shoulder length. She typically wears a tight high cut red top that shows her strong abs with a pair of loose black pants and sturdy black boots most of the time.

Weapon: Strong black leather gloves for punching and twin daggers if she feels it's necessary.

Story: Sara has lived her whole life in Attchison, and works hard during the day in the fields with most of the others left. She lives alone in her family's house, but often lets others stay there who are in need of somewhere to live. Her mother died shortly after she was born, and her father fled Attchison after Steinnis took over.

Sara is a mischievious girl who likes to go out and have fun. Because of that fact, she has a bit of a reputation for it. Not a fan of rules, she rebels against the soldiers who keep their eyes on them. She's not afraid to use sex appeal to get her way with them, but also will not stand for them getting too fresh with her.

She studied martial arts with a kind man from Steinnis since she was young, back when the two Kingdoms got along, and still sneaks over to study with him. She tries to believe that there are other Steinnis people who are like him.

Age: 26
Physical: Slender and not too tall, black hair to his chin with dark green eyes. Erm...just typical fantasy clothing for him I guess, I'm terrible with guy clothes!
Personality: Friendly and charismatic. He cares deeply about all those around him, and seeks to improve the lots of all
History: Back before the war, his Reinlender mother met his Steinessman father, and they fell in love. They settled in St. Lyrie, and Asreal was born there. But when the war started Asreal, now grown, has started to feel compassion for his half kinsmen, and is attempting to start up a rebellion in their favor.

Elias Winters

Age: 27
Class/Job: A white mage who's employed as a healer at the hospital of St. Lyrie, while at the same time advancing his skills in the art.

Personality: Elias is odd at best, a male white mage, the constant teasing from society in general has made him cynical and somewhat bitter, however, he wouldn't change jobs for the world. Deeply loyal and courageous, he was thought to be a good candidate for a job as swordsman, but he was neither interested nor physiclaly qualified. Living on his own within the big city, he is often visited by his little sister who is his closest, and perhaps only, friend.

Appearance: Dressed in the normal 'uniform' of a white mage, with a few necessary alterations, Elias wears black "slippers" and black pants, with a simple gray shirt. All of this is covered by a long white hooded cloak with a simple embroidered pattern along the edges. This cloak is held together by a gold pin of a snake with angel's wings, representing his position as a healer. Elias has black hair, kept in a mess (he doesn't care much for his appearance) and brown eyes.

History: Born to a middle-class family from the Reinland, through either fate or sheer luck, he was discovered by a hospital worker and was invited to join as a white mage. Moving to St. Lyrie at the age of 21, when he was not legally bound to his parents (they don't approve of his job choice), through hard work and some talent Elias was able to obtain his current position. He is now studying and working hard towards becoming a full-time whitemage/healer. Elias doesn't care for warfare, believing it to be a waste of time, thus he doesn't quite pay attention to what's occuring. However, as more people are injured and war approaches even his personal life, his involvement is quickly becoming inevitable.

Name: Jonah D. aka JD

Age: 20

Weapon: Bow and Arrows

Appearance: Messy blond hair, similar to Shuyin, but it doesn't stick out as much, and blue eyes. He has a strong build, especially his upper-body, and wears clothes that show it off.

History: He has had pretty normal life so far growing up in Attchison, and lives with his parents and younger brother. Nothing extrodinary has happened in his life, and so he is pretty laid back about everything.

He works in a local pub, which he enjoys. He's good friends with Sara and other villagers, but is quite predjudiced towards Steinnis people.


Sorry if it's not the best job, I came up with him pretty quickly!

Age: 18
Class/Job: "Sniper", she uses longbows and knows how to make her own arrows.

Personality: A headstrong, yet caring girl, she's very loyal to her friends, but also easily angered. Unsure about who/what she wishes to be in life, she's easily swayed by others, but when she DOES make up her mind, there is no changing her. Leslie dreams of much more than what she has and wishes to be a sorceress-ninja like the ones she read about in her stories from her childhood. However, she does not try to disappoint herself with (what she refers to as) "misplaced optimism," so she normally doesn't think of it and focuses on the 'here and now'. She is constantly seeking the approval of others (she took the job of sniper to appease her parents, as they believe Elias to have 'failed' them), Leslie stresses easily and can be a very private person. She is the only one in her family accepting of who Elias chose to be. Leslie also has a best friend named Sakkie.

Appearance: Having made her own clothes, Leslie's outfit has a much more "fantasized" edge to it. Her basic outfit consists however of a gray v-neck tank top and khaki shorts with two pockets. A large brown leather belt is slung across her torso, starting mid-stomach and ending resting upon her hip. Her shoes are lace-up boots, reaching about knee-level. Over her basic outfit she wears a long sky blue coat, buttoned at her chest (around the dip of her v-neck). It's sleeves are flared at the edges, but end around her wrist, thus it doesn't hinder her movement. The most unique thing about her dress is that the coat has no fabric upon her shoulders, instead cutting around it. (I'll try to post a picture soon, as I cannot describe it at all. x-x). Leslie has been described as "plain" with long brown hair and brown eyes.

History: Born in Attchison, unlike her brother (who was born in random-small-town-place), she is somewhat more accustomed to a "city life" (if it could be called that). Leslie has had as normal a childhood as she possibly could, idolizing her brother as she grew up. After her brother moved (she was 12 at the time) she slumped into doubt and depression, somehow thinking she was part of the reason that he moved. She never fully recovered. However, now that she is training as a sniper, she has much more free-range to travel and visits her brother regularly in St. Lyrie, where her best friend Sakkie also lives. Leslie lives in various places, but is either normally found at her home in the Reinland (with her parents, who moved from Attchison shortly after the invasion) or in St. Lyrie, staying with her best friend. The war has affected her only a little, besides the forced relocation, however her traveling is becoming increasingly harder as time goes on.
