I looked around here and didn't see a club to those who defended Aerith in threads that bash and flame her, I'm not sure if this club is allowed are not and if there is one or not either, so if it isn't or is one already here I'm so sorry and do close it. ::mouthful! XD:: Anyways, I've been going on gaiaonline.com lately and went into the Final Fantasy board <-((Very brutal place to be if an Aerith or Clerith fan..XP)), and I went into a topic called, "Purest Final Fantasy female?" I only knew about four out of all the FF females, Aerith, Rinoa, Garnet, and Yuna. I thought all of them were pretty much in their own way though I leaned towards more to Aerith then the others. Well, the guy who started the topic didn't seem to like Aerith too much and so forth so I guess you can say we somewhat debated on there and all I kept hearing is how much she was "pushing herself on Cloud", and "She didn't sacrifice herself" things. P.S drove me nuts though I thought I handled it okay.n_n; Learned how hard it was to defend and to put up with things like that so I thought it would be nice to put up a club to those who do defend her.

Of course! I try to defend Aeris wherever I go, seeing as how she is such an underappreciated character at times. :aeris:

She really is underappreciated. :sad: Aerith is such an awesome character, I don't get why a lot of people hate her... But I guess that's just them. Defending Aerith is something I'd definitely do. =]

Aerith really is underappreciated, :( she's such a great character and in a way a very good role model. I really liked her the best out of all the FF females. Well out of the four I know, but i'm pretty sure she'll always be my favorite! :aeris: But, when get into a debate or something about Aerith, you can always expect what to hear/read out of those who flame her.

You're right, every person who pretty much flames Aerith is usually very immature and childish with no common sense or true view of the game, nor has a kind side like you said. They just see what they want to see and twist things to their own liking. Or something along the lines with that. ^_^; Might have been a bit harsh there, sorries. Though sometimes I would really like to say to those who "have a fit" of Aerith flirting with Cloud somewhat during a few points of the game, "A woman flirting with a single man!? The madness!" But, always best to be nice and remain calm! ^_^

I'd love to join! Every forum I go to (except this one of course ^^) always has a "I Hate Aeris" club. Of course, all of them are mostly rabid CloTis or one-sided Tifa fans.. (not ALL Tifa fans, b/c some Tifa fans also do like Aeris too!) I always feel the urge to defend Aeris in many ways, even if it means arguing till there's no tomorrow. Welps.. I understand that she did kind of flirt with Cloud, but I think Tifa flirted with Cloud too in some ways also! The AC forums has TOO MANY CloTis, and it's the perfect place to defend my favorite flower girl! ^^ She may not have the greatest physical strength than all the other FF7 girls, but that's what makes her character simple & unique.

Aeris is so misunderstood by some portions of the fandom - there are people who think she's slutty, people who think she's callous, selfish, and manipulative, or people who think she's a bland, boring and naive little angel with no character-development. Aeris has been one of my all-time favourite characters in any fandom for years, and I hate seeing her bashed, not given due credit, or accused of being something she's not. She's such a lovable, beautiful and touching character, and I'll go out of my way to defend her in debates! ^_^

I totally agree. I don't understand why people call her slutty... Just because it stopped buttoning wherever (I'm not good at descriptions...), did they ever look at Tifa (I love Tifa's character personally.)? She's got teh mini-skirt... and stuff. And calling Aerith a slut? D:

And about her being selfish... Why do they think that? She's never done anything selfish in the game or in AC, has she (if she did something close to selfish, I don't remember in the game. My memories' fuzzy.)? All these opinions probably come from rabid Cloti fans or rabid Tifa fans. D: Manipulative? She did nothing that seemed manipulative, has she?

I know it says 'think', but think about Terra (?), Rinoa, Garnet (?) and Yuna. They basically have the same personality as Aerith. They're all 'angels' in their own little way and in some ways, they can be naive. None of them are boring or bland. They're 'original', if that's how you want to put it. So, saying that Aerith is bland, boring and a naive little angel is like calling everyother female heroine from 6-10 a bland, boring and a naive little angel.

Aerith is definitely one of my all-time favorite characters. She has a joking, serious, caring, kind (or anything I'm missing) personality, and seeing all that get bashed... It pains me, I guess.

In conclusion, Aerith is not boring, nor bland, nor a naive little angel, nor a slut, nor anything else negative. She's... Aerith. : D

I absolutely hate it when people degrade her character. Saying things that are false or taken out of context- makes me sick! :angry: Or how anti-Aeris fans twist her character, making her seem like a selfish, malevolent, manipulative bitch when that is soooo not true.
When I used to go to the FFVIIAC board in Gamefaqs, I defended Aeris character whenever some asshole said she was a hoe or some other nonesense. <_< Made them look quite stupid too. (That was the best.)
So yeah, I'm definately joining.

Aerith is one of my favorite characters. I think that all people can have their opinions, though, of which characters they choose to like. If someone has a different opinion I respect that. I do defend Aerith. A lot of people may not know the difference between defending and flaming. Defending is when you clearly state the truth about a character being degraded and lied about calmly, but not forcing an opinion. Flaming is when you insult someone for not liking the same characters you do. Flaming is forcing an opinion on someone who does not agree, while defending is telling the truth about a character, calmly, respecting the other side. It's perfectly fine as to which characters you like or don't. Trying to convince someone to like a character they don't, and yelling at them for not liking a character is flaming. Defending isn't about trying to force your opinion onto others, but to state facts and explain the truth without being hostile. A lot of people confuse defending and flaming.

I'm in! Unfortunately, Aeris is one of the most often bashed characters in the whole Complication. That is unfair. So we must wear deterrent attire and call ourselves Knights in Pink :giggle:
