Description: SEFIE! NEED! AC!!

Sefie - September 12, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
I'm....terrible with torrents. If somebody could walk me through(and I mean STEP BY STEP) the downloading of AC, I'd be eternally grateful

Well, I don't use bittorrent, but other download programs... If I could, I'd use emule, but for now I have shareaza, which, I believe, is from the same family as Azureus. xD

I'd advise you to download emule. I used to have emule koizo, it has lots of members and there's nothing you won't find there.

These programs usually work with bittorrent too. You download a bittorrent download file and it will add the download to the program you have.

Direct Download Links:

Emule koizo:
http://belnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourcefor....5c.install.exe

BitTorrent:
http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourcefor...rrent-3.4.2.exe

Direct Connect:
http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/#########/1

Shareaza:
http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourcef...aza_2.0.0.0.exe

Just try them! Hope it helps :3

Do I need to download all of them?*Sefie's cluelessness is revealed!*

Just download the bittorrent one. Its not that hard to use it.
When you download it and install it (double click, next and its installed), go to a place, like http://www.torrentspy.com/ and search (at the top) for "advent children". Choose one, click on it, and click on 'download torrent' button. When you download it, open it, and something should pop up asking you where you want it saved. Choose a spot, and click ok! There, its now downloading. When its done, go to the place you chose, and it should be there.

Now, you can still leave your bittorrent thing open, to help upload for others who are downloading it..

[WARNING FOR LONG POST... AS USUAL. :P]

If you want to use torrents, Sefie, just the Bittorrent client will do.

However, I'd recommend doing a search for other BT clients, such as BitTornado (what I use), Azureus and BitComet. They apparently work much better at downloading that the original BT client. And don't worry, they're all freeware. After downloading, double-click and instal the program.

After that, find a torrent link. TorrentSpy.com is a good page-- search for "Advent Children" there and you'll be shown about five very active torrents. I think some of the torrents there have the movie with Japanese subs, some don't, and some have already included the English sub. Click on each link and read the comments/details to find what you want.

Notice the "seeders" and "leachers" columns beside every link? Seeders are those putting the complete file up for download. Leachers are people like us, who are downloading the file off them.

Assuming you're working off TorrentSpy.com, once you've chosen the link, click on it. It'll take you to another page. Click on the "Download" link near the top.

Now, one of two things will happen. I'll include them both since I can't remember what happens. ^^;

1. Upon clicking, the BT client will pop up and you'll be asked to choose a folder to which to save your file. Choose one, click OK, and leave the BT client open. Don't worry about the extra details there-- the default settings are enough for laymen like us.

2. Upon clicking, you may be asked to save something called a TORRENT file. Save it anywhere, then double click on that file. The BT client should pop open, and you'll be asked to choose a folder to save your file. Click OK, leave the client open until the download is finished.

Should you have to close your client for whatever reason, double-click on the TORRENT file again and the download should resume (assuming you didn't move the file somewhere else. If you did, just relocate the file and the client will resume the download).

If you're feeling generous, once your download is finished, leave the client open. It will automatically start "seeding" the complete file for anyone else still downloading, and it doesn't take up your loading time, etc.

Hope that helps. ^_^

Thanks everybody!

I already have Azerus, so I'm gonna go with Lynn's instructions. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Edit: Downloading!

Edit2: Hmph, I go to the files with lots of Seeders listed, get it into Azerus and it says downloading...but it also says 0 seeders. Grr!

It takes a while sometimes. ^_^ Mine started with some weird freaking error, but give the download a couple of hours to run. If there's still no seeds, then forget about that for now. In fact, run a couple of downloads at the same time and see which one picks up first.

Let us know how it turns out!

Thanks Lynn!
It'd probably help if my DSL would STAY UP <_<

Sefie - September 19, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
Sorry to double post but...I can't make ANY of the torrents work! Can anyone just link me to a torrent with English subs that WORKS? Please?

Lynn - September 19, 2005 07:31 PM (GMT)
Sefie, did you check if your firewall is blocking the downloads? If you're using Windows Firewall, there's an option to allow torrent downloads through despite having it up.

I've rarely had problems with TorrentSpy.com-- I'll give their torrents another try tomorrow once their search function has returned. For now, you could try the links at TorrentReactor.net.

And if worse comes to worse, gimme your AIM screenname and I'll send it to you directly, ^_^

Sefie - September 20, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
Yay! SJ walked me through Emule and it's FINALLY downloading!
But if it takes as long as it's predicting, AC'll be out by then...22 days and 14 hours

Thanks for all the help everybody!

Lynn - September 20, 2005 07:17 AM (GMT)
Good lord, Sefie, that's just too long! O_O You sure you don't want me to just send it to you via AIM? The longest that took was around 14 hours.
