AURON FANS UNITE!!!!!!! **Possible FFX spoilers ahead**

How many peeps on here are Auron fans? Auron is one of my favorite FF characters ever! His devotion to duty was what sold me. He died and yet he clung to a semblance of life as an Unsent to guard that which was most precious to his two friends-- their children. He follows them on their journey, counsels them, and protects them. And, when it is all over... HE DOESN'T EVEN GET A FRIGGIN' FMV WHEN HE GETS SENT!!! :mad: GRR... *Clears throat* Okay... *Breathes deep*

Auron also had the most powerful physical attacks, the coolest Overdrives, and the best lines in the game. Some of my favorite Auron quotes:

I gotta admit, my heart fluttered everytime he murmured "As you wish"(yes, I am a Princess Bride fan). Auron DOES something to me. I'm not sure WHY, or what it IS about him that makes him so...so...so...SOMETHING.

I wept when he got sent! I figured out at the sniffing part about him being un-sent, but still! That didn't mean I had to like it!

He is definately my favorite FFX character. His FMV in Luca was just awesome even if all he did was stand there with his sword and look cool! I dunno what drew me to him but he is just so awesome. And I love his voice! Auron forever! :lol:

I loved Auron, too... he was definitey my fave character in FFX. He was totally awesome in Zanarkand as they went to fight Yunalesca. My favorite line in the game:

"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!"

That part was incredible... and Auron was definitely the best part of it. :wub:

Auron...I am still unsure what I think about him. Of course I like him, there's no question about that, but I'm not sure how much I like him. :rolleyes:

As most of you know I like those feminine bishies more than these manly ones, so I suppose I don't like Auron as much as I like Vincent and Cloud for example. Even so, admire Auron for what he is. He is always so calm and calculating, strong and wise.
That is why one of my favourite Auron scenes is after they have beaten Yunalesca and Auron somewhat loses it when he sees the young Auron confronting Yunalesca all those years ago. He was so wonderfully emotional in that scene. ^_^

That was such a sad part when you learned what Auron had been through, what he had to face in order to save Yuna, his promises to Braska and Jecht, and how he was driven to destroy Yunalesca and company. It was a very powerful part of the story and very touching. I liked Auron throughout the game, but the confrontation with Yunalesca along with the telling of Auron's story was my favorite scene with him, too. It was such a powerful part of the story, yet so very sad.

I am with Andina ^_^ I like them pretty.
But Auron is cool. He has the authority kinda feel to him... And not to mention, he's a big softy beneath that tough image he tends to project

Mmm, Auron = SEX. He was my favourite male character from FFX, because not only was he a supreme badass, but a wise, cool, and collected supreme badass. I loved Lulu because of those personality traits, and Auron was similar to her, but has the added bonus of being droolworthy (though Lulu was too, if I were a pixellated guy I definitely would) and having a sexeh voice. And like Andine said that moment when the party watched a younger version of Auron confront Yunalesca was so well done and showed Auron slightly losing his composure - a rare moment. And the gruff voice courtesy of Matt McKenzie, well...rawr. ;) He'd BETTER retain it in KH II.

I KNOW!!!! I LOVED that! I just so enjoyed being able to give Auron a command and for him to reply in that way... :wub:

His voice was AMAZING!!! *Drools* Matt McKenzie was his voice actor. He was also the voice of Major Elliot in FF:TSW, Borgoff Markus in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and the voice for several of the agents in The Animatrix. I am also VERY pleased that Matt will be reprising his role of Auron again in KH2! :wub:

I like a lot of feminine bishies, too (Vincent, Kurama/Youko Kurama, Sesshomaru, Kenshin). However, give me a big strapping guy with a gravelly voice and I melt! LOL!!! :lol:

I loved that scene! I was stunned at first, seeing the cool and collected Auron completely losing it. Then, I felt myself drawn to him even more. You could tell how painful the memories were to him. And he had just let everyone see how vulnerable and emotional he truly was deep inside, beneath the gruff and grouchy anterior. :( *Cuddles Auron* :wub:

Yeah, I can kinda see AuronxLulu, even though they barely spoke 3 words to each other in the game. :P They both sort of had the same attitude. But, when I saw Lulu catch Wakka at the Blitzball game and hold him... I KNEW something was going to happen between those two! :wub: What I could never understand is AuronxRikku... :blink: Rikku really got on Auron's nerves. You could tell when they were crossing the Thunder Plains how put out he was with her. So, I don't get that pairing at all. GippalxRikku, I say! :lol:

Yeah, actually, he is! :D If you complete a certain side-quest a certain way (the Mi'ihen Highroad sidequest with Rin as the culprit), you can obtain a sphere with Auron on it.

Gippal's Sphere:

The contents of this sphere show Gippal at Bikanel Island. This event takes place two years ago back when Yuna was still on her pilgrimage. If you've played the prequel, you should recall the event when Tidus and the gang end up seperated on Bikanel Island. Before Auron found Tidus, he was elsewhere and happened to cross paths with Gippal. This event happens after the destruction of the Crimson Squad.

Gippal: Just got a transmission. Apparently the Guado are conducting a manhunt nearby. Orders are to locate the summoner Yuna and kill her guardians. Maybe you want to lay low for a bit?

Auron: That advice?

Gippal: No, I just don't want you stirring them up. The temples are after me too.

Auron: Then I apologize in advance.

Gippal: You're fighting? *Auron remains silent* I see... I'm tired of running from Yevon myself, and I have thought about fighting. *sighs* I'd probably look like a jackass if I even suggested it.

Auron: Only a jackass can change the world.

Gippal: Huh. Good call.

*Auron walks away and Gippal turns to the Al Bhed holding the Sphere Camera*

Al Bhed(Al Bhed): What was that all about?

Gippal(Al Bhed): I'm going to go pick a fight with Yevon. Coming?

Al Bhed(Al Bhed): Sounds like fun.

Gippal: Jackass.

*The Al Bhed recieves a transmission*

Gippal: What is it?

Al Bhed(Al Bhed): Oh, no! The Guado! They are attacking Home!

I have heard that Auron appears in Shinra's dossiers after you get Gippal's Sphere, but I never managed to get it... :(

Also, during the battle with Vegnagun, Auron's voice is one of those cheering Yuna on in her battle, along with Braska and Jecht.

There is also an Auron character coin. ^_^

And I heard somewhere that Auron, Braska, and Jecht appear as phantoms in Zanarkand at one point. But, I don't remember that. I have only played FFX-2 once... :rolleyes:

It was obvious to me from the beginning that Lulu and Wakka would eventually be together. It always happens like that...first they don't seem to get along too well but in the end they are in love. Pffth! I want to be shocked and not buried with video game clichees (is that how you spell it?!? :rolleyes: ).

Well some like to say that opposites attract, even though I find that bit silly. In some romantic novel that might happen but rarely in reality. Although, Final Fantasy is far from reality. :D

He's there allright. It doesn't really tell much about him, but at least it's better than nothing.

I think that might be true also...unless I am completely mistaken. My memory is bit foggy when it comes to certain points of the game. <_<

The old guy, Maechen who always showed up to give Tidus information. Maechen was kinda like a sage or a wise man. Anyway, in X-2, Yuna talks to him again occasionally, until eventually, at the Zanarkand Ruins, you find out that he is an unsent who had forgotten that he died. That's how he knew everything. He remembered when he shook Yuna's hand, because he had once shaken Lenne's hand 1000 years ago at a concert in Zanarkand. One of the first treasure spheres you find in the game is actually a recording from Maechen's past, and it is of him talking excitedly about having shook Lenne's hand. YRP says it's just "junk" at the time. Funny, ne? Anyways, you see Braska, Jecht and Sexy behind Maechen as he tells the girls at the end of the game, but only for an instant. He tells the girls that sometimes his memory gets the better of him, and that his memories almost have a mind of their own... *sniff*

I love Auron, he is truly aged to perfection. And yea, Auron x Rikku is wierd. Rikku should be with Gippal, and Auron should be with meh!! B)

Unfortunately I rarely find chibified characters sexy. :lol:

I thought it was sad as well. But I am glad how developed Maechen and finally let us know his secret. In FFX I always thought there's more to him, he couldn't just be a normal old man. And I was somewhat disappointed when I could no longer find him as I so loved to hear his stories. His voice actor (I can't remember his name for the life of me) did wonderful job. I can't understand how so many complained about Maechen and how his stories are too long. Bleh! FF games are all about great stories and that's exactly what they gave us in the form of this lovable old man.

Hey, thanks for clearing that up, Seii! I guess I need to play FFX-2 again, because I really wanna get Gippal's sphere... :P

Yeah, I missed Maechen, too... :( His voice actor was Dwight Schultz (Murdock from The A-Team and Lt. Barclay from Star Trek: TNG).
