Son_Pan - September 2, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
Has anyone been following along with this show? I am just wondering, because im not sure most of you watch gundam.
anyway, im looking forward to the next 5 episodes.
my top wishes:
-for rey to die. hes a manipulative bastard.
-for shinn to realize hes just being a tool in Dullinda's Destiny Plan
-shinn x lunamaria relationship to continue.
-for Kira and Athrun to beat Shinn and Rey senseless.
-for meyrin and lunamaria to meet, once more.
-for Athrun to reach out to shinn, successfully, without interference from Rey.
-to see more outbursts from Yzak.
what i dont want to happen:
-shinn dying//by the hands of Kira
-Lacus, Kira, Athrun, or Cagalli dying (the original 4)
-Yzak or Dearka dying
-lunamaria dying
-talia dying
-meyrin dying
-discontinuation of Lunamaria x Shinn
-Dullindal to succeed in his Destiny Plan
in conclusion, i just want the series to end nicely, with Shinn becomming a good person, and realizing how wrong he was, during the entire time of the war.

I have!
Quite honestly, I'm a bit..ok, very disapointed in GSD. I like gseed a lot better. :P
I dislike Rey...and Shinn (at first a lot...i guess he's ok-er now.)
That LunaxShinn thing was kinda weird...but then again, that (aah shoot, forgot her name - that crazy-EAF's-gunam-pilot-who's-afraid-to-die) and Shinn thing is even weirder. I don't like how Kira changed..I don't like how they all changed...especially Cagalli. Buut the series has gotten interesting recently. Seems like its giong to end soon! It kinda sucks how nothing happened between Kira and Lacus though. ^^; Nothing but them constantly repeating each other's name..whats with those scenes?
Seii Monogatari - September 3, 2005 10:22 AM (GMT)
I guess I kind of like Luna x Shinn, but Shinn x Stellar is my favorite from what I've seen. ^^;;
Simplicity - September 28, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
i think GSD was rather rushed, thus, making it very...messed. the only good part was when Athurun (is that the rite spelling? :P ) actually made up his mind (to beat Shinn up! lol, jokes.) i still need to watch the ending though, like 46 or 47 i think...but i left off where the Archangel crew decided to stop Dillandau (spelling?) FIRST instead of that blue comos guy, who was a greater threat at the moment in my opinion. <_<
aerithstrife - September 28, 2005 10:00 PM (GMT)
Well, Gundam Seed was alright. Though, I would had like it to focus more on KiraxLacus relationship. Maybe its just me, but I was relieved that Fillay died. I didn't really like her much. I only saw a couple episodes of GSD, but its pretty much going in the same way as GS. Shinn (is that his name) does look alike like Kira or almost Athrun. Sometimes I confused those 3. :lmao:
Lynn - September 29, 2005 07:16 AM (GMT)
I like its songs. It's OP and ED songs rock, IMHO... no surprise See-Saw is among the composers once again.
My brother and I have been downloading the last few episodes without watching them. We plan to do a mini-end marathon when it's finished so we don't get stuck at any cliffhangers!

i know! thats wat me and my bro are doing!!

-revives- (wow, like 8 months later)
OMFG. I was going to open another thread revolving Gundam Seed, untill I saw there was an existing thread.
Let me start by saying I LOVE GUNDAM SEED/DESTINY
I know it's not as cool as Gundam Wing and how Kira cries and is such a wimp and Shinn is just a...well, what a guy. And really, Heero dosen't care! But that's what I like about it. I love GS' Melodrama, and cool storyline and the fair amounts of action and stuff like that. And since I love music, both GS and GSD have AMAZING soundtracks with pieces that have awesome instrumentals. I recommend listening to the awesome-ness of Kakijima's piano skills with Nicol's Theme of Tears. (or Naimada no Theme)
I hate the fact in GSD how they make Athrun (sorry, I like the english names better xD) seem more cooler than Kira! I mean, Kira's my favourite pilot in GS and in Episode 47 when
Meer dies and everyone is like shooting and stuff, because of the (phailed, second attempt :P) assassination of Lacus and then Kira has to protect the ladies while Athrun is all doing his 360 flips and awesome pistol skills. And then when Meer ACTUALLY gets shot, Both Kira and Athrun jump but Kira dosen't even do nothing and Athrun shoots!
Like HELLO! Kira's the ULTIMATE Coordinator here! Let's show off more of his awesome skills in GSD here! (:lmao:)
Did I mention how much I hate Fllay? She's such a manipulative twit that's so unstable about herself. And I also hate the fact how she seduced Kira into
having sex with him! Kira's the first Gundam protaganist to have sex on screen. WITH A TWIT!
And her attitude towards Coordinators (or Lacus) is...WTFOMG?! How could Kira NOT do anything about it? Like he KNOWS he is a Coordinator too and he just lets Fllay bad talk about his people? AND ANDD, she only realized when she
DIED
at the end that she was wrong! Ugh, so late for that. <_<.
I cannot also BELIEVE that Kira could lose to Shinn in that battle! >:( Well, I can partially understand because the Impulse had interchangeable parts...and he did change parts when he was on the brink of losing...plus, Kira didn't have the interchangable parts thing...and he also had to protect the Archangel....and...yeah I guess. I don't think it proves that Shinn is the better Gundam pilot though...only because I am a Kira fangirl. :P. STFU NOOB KTHXPLZ. :tard:
-phew! Your thoughts?
goddess_in_pink07 - June 6, 2006 11:44 PM (GMT)
OH, i love Gun Dam seed! And, destiny looked really interesting! :) :) :) Simply love the Kagali and Athrun couple! So cute.... :fangirl:   :fangirl:
MistaCloudStrife - June 7, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
I'll start by saying... *SPOILERS*(GS/GSD)
I didn't like how they replaced Kira in GSD with Shinn in the beginnning.
I hated Shinn... Extremely weak and extremely cocky. He got excited about supposedly killing Kira, when Kira wasn't even fighting back. Unlike Kira, he just about only had growth in fighting ability and strength... and most of that was only because of his new Gundam. Kira actually grew both in battle and outside of battle.
I liked how Kira somehow took over the spot light in the mid to end area of the anime... Liked that.
I didn't like how they made the gundams cheaper... Gundam Seed was cheap enough with the whole meteor system... But now they have deflective shields... o.O
Oh and I don't like that Gold Gundam... Can you say "cheesy"...? OMG it's GOLD so it must be good!
Alot of the other parts I liked... Good stuff. One of the few animes I would actually buy the DVDs for. And that's saying alot.
Anti-R - June 7, 2006 09:22 AM (GMT)
One word.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUGHHHH!!!
*resists the urge to bite own tongue. Must get spoon.*
I HATED it. This made me appreciate Gundam SEED and Wing, the two series that I abhor the most from the Gundam series. Kira stole the whole spotlight midway in the series. We already had their character arcs in the first one. Treat the Minerva crew with respect, dammit.
Plus the fact Fukuda bludgeon us with repeat episodes every other time. When it could have been used for something else. Like Shinn's character growth. But noooo... he had to jump off for Athrun and Kira.
Anyway, I'm such a sad Gundam and Maaya Sakamoto fan *cries in corner*.
Tenshi_Aerith - June 7, 2006 05:47 PM (GMT)
OFF TOPIC: I would like to ask for you not to bad talk fllay considering I totally support the Fllay and Kira Couple, and Fllay was my favorite Female Caracter Paladin but I'm not forceing u just asking LOL
ON TOPIC: I think GSD is ok I haven't really watched much but have read and seen lot of if, I'm not sure what I think of Shinn yet though so I can't really comment, and also I doubt that Lacus is pregant!

OH GEEZ. I'm sorry!!! :huggle:
I'm so sorry but I just hated the fact that she's so manipulative and stuff like that. But since you asked me so nicely I guess I
EDIT(because I accedentaly pressed tab and enter xD): won't talk bad about her. But I guess it's my opinion and I should respect yours. So sorry for the trouble.
Yeah...and I'm Kira x Lacus fangirl. -sheepish smile-
Tenshi_Aerith - June 7, 2006 11:33 PM (GMT)
LOL At that point we might as well say he Impregnated Fllay considering they did do it before she died so, hey there's always that possiblity he did it with Lacus too but I still doubt that ether of them were ever pregnant
MistaCloudStrife - June 8, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
I'm gonna have to ignore the fllay bad talk thing.... Because in order to get this opinion across It's almost impossible not to bad talk her.
See, look... She dumped Sai, a natural, to get with Kira who was a coordinator in order to get him to kill other coordinators because she's basically racist. She grouped ALL coordinators into one group and basically thought of all of them as bad people. She's just all-around bad imo.
And Lacus and Kira remind me of Cloud and Aeris more than any other couple in GS and GSD... And in Destiny, Kira would be considered an Ex-Soldier. =P
Anti-R - June 9, 2006 12:29 PM (GMT)
Fllay. Fukuda told she was the most human of the SEED characters.
However...
I never liked how she used sex to control Kira and manipulate his confusion for her own sense of vengeance. Maybe it's just me but she should be the one doing that, instead of using people like that. She hurt Sai as well, which is very uncalled for.
However, she did turn into a new leaf, and it can be said that genuinely loves him by the end of the series. But even if she survived I seriously doubt they'd ever fix that relationship.
Anyways, I've seen a lot of Gundam female characters who betrayed their own people because of their own selfish desires. But I give them points with the fact that they never regretted their path and took responsibility in their actions. Fllay was too wishy washy for me to give her some sympathy.
I apologize Tenshi_Aerith... but Fllay was not one of my favorites.
nyrin - June 9, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
Fllay was a psychopath, but she was human. In my opinion, Fllay as a character pwns Lacus any day. At the very least I could relate to her flaws. Lacus was just a pretty pink ball of perfection. Some little pop star who, for some unknown reason, was so incredibly wise and perfect that everyone listened to her. And there was no explanation as to how she became this way. Being the daughter of a diplomat/political leader doesn't make you one.
Anyway, as for Seed Destiny, I've watched the whole series and it was a trainwreck. My reasons:
- wasted potential of Shin - when he was first introduced I thought he might actually step up and be really important in the series - either a major hero or a major baddie. In the end he ended up as some useless soldier dog who didn't have an original thought in his pretty little head. That might be fine for some soldiers, but Shin had the potential to be much more complex. And he was shunted aside, why?
- the old crew - aside from Athrun, the rest of the old crew should have stayed in the background. There time had ended with Seed, Seed Destiny should have had the guts to explore their new characters. But Kira and Lacus came back to basically own the show, taking development away from the new characters. Worst of all, Kira and Lacus didn't even have half the personality they did in Seed. Well, actually, that applies only to Kira, since Lacus never had a personality.
- good/bad - okay we all know that in war, there is not such thing as the good guys vs. the bad guys. There's only the guys with one agenda vs. the guys with an opposing agenda. The strongest side wins, that's it. And yet Seed Destiny tried to make it seem as though Kira and Lacus were right. Why were they right? Because they're Kira and Lacus. They are righteous and true just by virtue of being themselves. That ideology is, imho, a disgrace to war stories and the entire Gundam Series in general
- pacing - the pacing of the story was terrible. At the end, it was almost as though they had a thousand plot holes and dangling plotlines, and only two or three episodes to resolve them in. Instead of working hard to resolve them, Fukuda put in useless recap episodes (like we can't remember what happened ten episodes ago) and wasted an entire episode on Meer, the fake Lacus, as though anyone cares. Worst of all, this episode was put towards the end of the series when they should have been working on resolving the story. Stupid, stupid stupid.
- budgeting - I know they had money problems which may have contributed to the number of filler episodes they put in there. Why did they have money problems? Because they wasted all their money hiring incredibly expensive Seiyuu for extremely minor roles (like, sorry to say, Maaya Sakamoto. If they weregoing to hire her, they should have given her a more prominent role. What's the point of hiring someone so expensive for a role that's hardly even featured in the show?). They also spent money for singers to preform a plethora of openings and endings (Way too many for a series that's only 52 episodes long). Ya, it makes for a great soundtrack, but with all that money wasted on singers, what is there left for the actual production of the show?
- melodrama - Seed was pretty melodramatic but Seed Destiny took it to a whole new level. The Shinn/Stellar 'romance' (if you can call it that) sticks out in my mind particularly. In fact, Stellar herself was the worst Seed character ever created.
I can go on, but what's the use? You got my point. Aside from the action, the series was terrible. They're making another Seed series, to my dismay, but they've gotten rid of the old characters. Let's hope they learn from their mistakes and make this one better. And maybe one day they'll MOVE ON FROM SEED and just start a fresh new Gundam series. Geez.
Anti-R - June 10, 2006 04:24 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Actually after watching the disaster called Destiny, I can watch the original SEED series and not get irked at all.
Kira was alright in the first one. Although I'm annoyed that he had to cry on every other episode. Sheesh, get a backbone. Midway he becomes a la Kenshin and just attacks to disarm, not to kill. Which doesn't make sense because as seen in Destiny when he unwittingly killed Shinn's family, sometimes even in the best intentions, a giant robot can hurt defenseless people. Maybe if he'd just leave the cockpit. Permanently.
Lacus was supposedly based on Audrey Hepburn. And I am a fan of Audrey Hepburn, I cannot for the life of me, see that in her. So she tries to be like Minmay who captains a pink ship and gets to pilot an MS? Too convinient for me. Meer is also a crap character. I swear, ZAFT relying on Lacus is seriously retarted.
I also get annoyed everyone takes her words and go blindly to her idealisms as if it was the Gospel of Luke. Same reason I hated Relena Peacecraft's pacifist ideals in Wing. As if everyone else just found out that its a new trend to be a mindless group and let teenage girls dictate what they should do because they said so. In SEED her talks work on Kira and Athrun, as she had been close to them, and her speech was discarded by Patrick Zala. In Destiny it felt like if she said the universe is actually made up of fluffy gummi stars, people will believe her without hesitation.
I never liked Athrun. He's like sooo... confused. At everything. In SEED Destiny he switches sides so often I wish he got killed by Shinn. Then again Athrun did something unexpected, and I can't help but woot.
Cagalli acts like the stereotypical loud tomboy who defies powerful daddy. When she goes all weepy when she was forced to leave ORB leaving him behind I was rolling my eyes for being contrived. In Destiny she devolved into an emo wimp, and I'm not sure which version of her I hated the most.
Onigiri - June 11, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
All characters turn to crap in destiny, whether or whether not they originally were crap in seed. Overall, SEED >>>>> Destiny
I seriously can't stand the all-too-perfect Kira (nor the all-too-perfect Lacus for that matter). As idolized as she was in gseed, she surpassed it, into a whole new cult-like worshiping level. Its just there to emphasize on their perfectness.
Kira also seemed like he was dead in gsd half of the time. I swear when I first saw him in the series, I thought he was mentally challenged or something. Lacus is taking care of the children, while he sits outside staring in the sky, like he can't do anything else. It almost seemed like Kira is a sick old grandfather while Lacus is the nurse taking care of him. Of course it changed later, but it was no better.
Aside from that, Cagalli seems MUCH weaker, dependable and wishy washy than in seed. In seed she was much more strong minded. Seriously, the marriage to Yuna?? That's the stupidest...Athrun too. What's wrong with that couple? o_O
New characters were annoying too. Rey, omg. Shinn, omg! Stellar, OMG! Not to mention Dullindal, Meer, and others whose name I don't remember. Luna was ok, and I had nothing against the captain with the weird hair, except her voice.
And they're suppose to be having a new one too. Gundam Seed Stargazer? www.seed-stargazer.net/
