BarretxTifa is still my favorite. I think their personalities go great together. They get along very well, they understand one another, they respect one another, they support each other, and they care about each other. Barret's no bishie, but he's willing to be the hero for Tifa that she's always wanted. Barret would be faithful to her and take care of her in the way she wants to be taken care of. If they'd fall in love, I think the relationship would be terrific.


I like VincentxTifa, too. I think they look great together, and they've both lost the person they loved to someone else. I do not think that Lucrecia was in love with Vincent, so I see VincentxLucrecia as being very different from CloudxAerith. To me, Vincent has no reason to remain in love with Lucrecia because his love isn't reciprocated by her. In that respect, I think Vincent's in the same boat as Tifa coz Cloud didn't reciprocate Tifa's feelings. If Vincent were to fall for anyone else, I think Tifa would have the patience and understanding that Vincent needs for a love relationship to develop between them.

I love the idea of the ZackxTifa pairing, but there's no real foundation for it. She met Zack during the Nibelheim Incident, but she didn't get to know him well. If they had gotten to know one another better, I think the pairing would have been terrific.

Zack would be the best for her thing about Cloud. Her promise with Cloud was if he really became famous that he would come and rescue her. That dream is like Zack with his personality as he would scoop a girl into his arms and he's in 1st Class.

Barret and Tifa would go well together, they already know each other long enough and they do care about each other. Their personalities may be completely different but from the VII team it is Tifa that Barret cares most for. He respects her for what she is.

Reno and Tifa are cute together, I just enjoy them because of how Reno has his hyperness but he is also a cool type of guy. He would probably get on Tifa's nerves a lot but I could maybe see her changing through him.

I think Reno would look good with Tifa, but that's it. My main reservation is that I cannot see Reno remaining faithful to Tifa or committing himself to her. At the most, I picture Reno enjoying a one night stand with her before dumping her... and I think Tifa deserves better than that.

I agree completely. Tifa really wanted a Zack type guy when she got Cloud to make the promise.

I think if Zack and Tifa ever got the chance to know each other (like if FFVII was in an alternate universe and Aeris and Zack were brought back), they would be a good couple. Zack's the kind of guy Tifa wanted.

As far as Tifa pairings go the only ones that appeal to me and I truly like is Tifa x Aeris and Tifa x Loz. I voted for Loz.

Because first of they look good together and second from what we know so far about Loz is he's a big tough guy with a sensitive side. (the actual words they used is "childish crybaby'") :lol:
I can so imagine Tifa scolding him about something and he'll start crying and Tifa will feel bad for yelling and they'll make up and bake cookies for the orphans! Aw. :lol:

Reno and Tifa, I could go on an on about, definitely my favorite Tifax pairing.

One thing people often use against them is the fact that they fought against each other before, yada yada. But it's perfectly plausible in AC, once they are fighting on the same side. It even has that "foe-turned-luvva" charm to it. :P

And, from Reno's English AC bio:

"A member of the Turks with a style all his own. In FFVII, Reno stood against Cloud and the others, but his face no longer shows any sign of such hostility."

Aw, see?! It's so OBVIOUS Square is just building up the fabric of a great ReTi ending, I swear!! You'd hafta be blind not to see it!! :wub: And he is shown rescuing the orphans after Kadaj summons Bahamut, an act that's sure to net him some points with Tifa!! :D

Also, Reno is an extrovert, with his cocky personality, and Tifa is Tifa, withdrawn and more quiet, except during battle.

My problem with Barifa is that, honestly, Barret does seem like her dad to me. I see his devotion to her to be more of a paternal sort and I don't dislike it because he's not a bishie. I like Lulu and Wakka and he sure as heck ain't a bishie. Barret just seems so much more like a father figure to her. It's like I think of Cloud and Tifa more as cousins or relatives, at this point, than love interests.

My problem with Tifa and Vincent is that, although they look extremely hot together, Vincent's personality reminds me too much of Cloud's. Cloud's personality and Tifa's just don't mix well for me, it's like Squall and Quistis, and that's why I can't support them as a couple. So to see Vincent, who has so many similarities to Cloud in my mind, go for the same girl who I couldn't picture Cloud with, just doesn't figure out right. :/

Zack I like mostly because he was an extrovert, the extroxintro thing I discussed with ReTi. Zack would probably be the best match for Tifa if you look at their personalities, they would remind me of one of those highschool romances that you see in the movies, and they'd both be extremely happy together.

I like my pairings with a bit of conflict however, which is why I love ReTi so much. :P

I recently took the liking to the ZackxTifa pairing. ^_^ Well, if they actually got to know each other I believe there would have been a good chance of them being together. A lot of Cloti's say that Aerith was just interested in Cloud because of the Zack in him((Oh, how much how I hate that line! <_< )) while I thought that was completely off because it seemed to me that Tifa was the one falling in love with the Zack in Cloud all along. Though Tifa didn't know Zack, at least not well, I thought everything she thought of Cloud was more Zack-like. For example, her idea of her famuos hero that would be there to rescue her if she's ever in danger, a lot like what Leon_Geeste said.n_n

Though second choice would definitely be BarretxTifa. Also one of the people who thought that Tifa and Barret were married and Marelene was their daughter when first playing the game. :blush:

Reno, Rufus and Barret were my choices, although I do support a lot of couplings involving Tifa. :lol:

ReTi is one of my favorite pairings and with the wonderful PROOFZ provided by Seii, I'm not going to go explaining my love of them. I love the "Opposites Attract" feeling to it all and it's just quite the bit of eye-candy. ;)

RufTi grew on me through fanfics and has firmly placed itself in my head as a favorite pairing of mine. They're an attractive match and their personalities mesh well, although I do admit it's close to impossible for the game canon to go their way. :lol:

Barrifa was my last choice as their trust and faith in each other is amazing. They're so close and she's even like a mother to Barret's "daughter" Marlene.

I do believe that Zack x Tifa is a cute, viable pairing, which appeals to me deeply with the "fairy tale" aspect of it all and about Tifa's dream of a hero. It was runner-up after Barrifa.

Vincent x Tifa, while it does make sense, I really can't see. I'm a firm believer in opposites attract (plus I support Yuffentine wholeheartedly xD) and their personalities are just too similar for my liking. Also, as Seii pointed out, Vincent is way too similar to Cloud for me ever to be REALLY comfortable with the pairing, although I don't hate it or anything.

To be honest, many of the couplings make sense in my eyes and I could see myself supporting. :lol: :tifa:

Just a question, when was Reno portrayed as a womanizing playboy in FFVII? I never noticed that he was, and he sure doesn't seem that way in AC ... just saying, because the fandom has created a persona of him as a pimpish ladies man when he wasn't that way in FFVII. :/

I always loved the idea of Tifa/Barret. He just seems like the kinda guy that fills out what she needs. Someone to protect her, sympathize with her, stick up for her, cheer her up, and cuddle. *Shifty eyes*

She's just already a mother figure to Marlene and her and Barret are close. I can easilly see that happening.

Nah. In the game he was more of a "Listen, I just don't care. Okay? let's get this over with." With a touch of "I'm just doing this to tick you off."

I don't thin he could ever settle down. He seems like a bachelor for life, type to me.

Rufus is just psycho and power hungry. I could see him keeping somebody like her around as a trophy wife, but he wouldn't care a lick about her.

Vincent's problem is that he's emmotinally crippled already and even more introverted than Cloud is. Tifa needs somebody she could lean on and fall back to for comfort. Vincent is about as comfortable as a brick wall.

Johnny seemed like a really nice guy, and I could see her hooking up with him, if she hadn't joined AVALANCHE.

Barret is too much of a friend to be a lover. He knows her a bit too well and is a tad to comfortable around her.

Sephiroth ... makes even less sense than pairing Aeris with Sephiroth. Tifa was pretty much living the life until he came into town, killed her dad, burnt the place to the ground, nearly killed her, and spent the rest of the game tormenting the few friends she does have.

Loz... I know very little about.

Zack is the kinda nice guy big shot hero that she wanted. he might not be seriously intrested in her, but they'd probably hit it off well and at least have some fun together.

Rude and Tifa actually have quite a bit in common. Mainly bars, fighting, and the fact that they don't talk about what they really mean that much. Still, I think he'd be good to her and Tifa needs a person that will actually go out of his way to please her, even if he doesn't say it.

As for Aeris, THEY'RE JUST FRIENDS!

Exactly, Alan. It's not that he was portrayed as a womanizer, but as someone who can't get serious about anything or anyone. Having sex is easy, but relationships take too much effort and time for Reno to bother with it. He puts himself first. No one else will ever mean enough to him that he will want to settle down and commit.

That's the way I see it, too.

I think Barret is the best choice for Tifa. *waves Barrifa flag*

Barret is a very strong person who could be Tifa's 'solid foundation'(support) whenever she starts falling apart. If she is down, Barret always finds a way to motivate her. Tifa is also good for Barret, since it seems she is the only one in the group who really understands him. Well, actually, they both seem to really understand eachother.

The two Tifa couplings I like best on that list are Zack x Tifa and Rude x Tifa.
Like others have said, if Tifa and Zack had got chance to get to know each other, I really do think that she would have fallen for him. When she's depressed over Cloud in disk two, Tifa says:

"If only Cloud were here... Cloud would stand that cocky little way and tell everyone what to do."

Cloud copied that 'cocky little way' of standing from Zack... :whistle:

Zack would be the type of hero Tifa dreamed of, and he'd be able to support her emotionally, where Cloud can't because he has his own emotional problems.

As for Rude x Tifa, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pairing. So sweet. I think Rude is another character who'd be able to support Tifa emotionally, even though he doesn't talk much, he would listen to her and take care of her. They're both a little shy, but I think they'd be able to open one another up a little if they were together. They have similar interests (martial arts), and y'know, he LIKES her. :lol:

Barrifa forever! LOL I've just always thought there was a cute vibe between them. Barret seems to have a great deal of respect and feeling for her. I thought he sure seemed interested in her in the game. Plus, he could take Tifa and Marlene for family picnics in the loffly WRO family truck. :D (That ZOMG was great, Real_Emotion!)

After Barrifa I would have to say Zack/Tifa makes lots of sense to me, as I think Zack's characteristics in Cloud seemed to be what she was attracted to in Cloudy. Zack would be the cocky little SOLDIER of her dreams.

I voted VincentxTifa... mehh but now that I think about it I think Rude or Zack deserve her better.

Anyways, Rude is introverted like Tifa but he likes her (aww) and I think he could emotionally support her, just like Madame Batolli said. And Zack because all of you said that if she met Zack and not Cloud, maybe there wouldn't have been this triangle and Cloud and Aerith could now happily be together. :cleris:

It's different from Cloud remaining in love with Aerith even though she's dead because Cloud loved Aerith while she was alive. But Tifa can't continue loving someone that she didn't love while he was alive. :lol:

On the other hand, it could work out if the age gap wasn't there. Vincent and Tifa are similar-okay, your confused. What i mean is, both of them were hurt from the people they love. So in order to hide it and/or not open up to another person, Vincent took on a distant, you-can't-know-me mood. While Tifa took on a happy, happy mood, which makes everyone think she's okay and not ask her any worried questions.

Zack! Hands down.

Tifa is very much like Cloud, both shy and have hard time expressing their feelings. Zack, on the other hand, is very much like Aeris. Cheerful, optimistic and friendly. Both Tifa and Cloud need someone who could put some sunshine in their lives. Tifa has always wanted a hero of her own. Zack could pull that role with ease, even more so than Cloud.

My favourite choices for Tifa would have to be:

Barret
Lord knows, I've already given a million reasons why these two would make a great couple in the Barrifa thread! :lol: But to recap...the idea that Tifa and Barret shouldn't be together because Barret isn't attractive enough is ridiculous and really sells Tifa short. I believe that it was hinted at in the game that Barret had feelings for Tifa, they already have a close, trusting, warm and strong relationship without any of the unhealthy aspects of the Cloud/Tifa relationship, and their mutual love for Marlene is bound to make them closer. Also, I think they have a wonderful influence on each other - Tifa helps calm Barret down, and I think with her he'd really get in-touch with a wider range emotions. Also, with Tifa I think Barret would come to truly accept the wrong he did as leader of Avalanche, which I don't think he could accomplish on his own. And I think Barret would really commit to the relationship, which is exactly what Tifa needs. Barret is protective of Tifa, but also makes an effort to motivate her. He knows Tifa's a strong and brave woman, and he wants her to know it too. He's supportive, but he won't wrap her in cotton-wool emotionally, and won't do everything for her or constantly reassure her - he recognises that she needs to be strong enough for her own sake. But if ever she's in danger, he goes through the roof with panic and won't ever give up on her or leave her behind. He'd pull out all stops to save her. He could easily be the hero she's looking for. He's there for her and cares and worries about her, but lets her be strong for herself too. I think they'd have a great relationship!

Ah, I really love this pairing! It's the only Tifa/Anyone-affiliated-with-Shinra pairing I can really see working. First of all, Rude has a crush on her. It's canonically halfway there already! He's definitely interested, and I think with Rude it runs a little deeper than something that's just based on her looks. Also, unlike other members of Shinra, he hasn't done anything too terrible - he's not the President who wants to control the world with fear, he didn't kidnap and hit Aeris, he didn't set off the bomb that dropped the Sector 7 plate...nothing unforgivable (and Tifa can be quite the grudge-holder). Also, if you have Tifa on your team and get involved in a battle with Rude, he won't ever hit Tifa, even if she's the only party member left (he just goes "..." and does nothing). Not only is it extremely cute, sweet and gentlemanly, but it shows that he does genuinely care for her and can't hurt her even for his job. He's as protective of her as he can be, even though they're on opposing sides. You could tell he'd be good to her and try to please her in a relationship. They also have a lot in common, eg: their fighting style and a love of bars, so they have a potential meeting-place and some common ground on a more personal level (as opposed to the common ground of "Well, I know you from all that time we spent fighting each other..."). They're both quiet, serious and deeply sensitive people, and I think Rude's the sort of person "words aren't the only way to tell people how you feel" could really apply to. As you can see from his role in the "Turks family" he's definitely the kind of guy who'd be really supportive. They're both shy and reserved, but I think they could really open up to each other and develop an understanding. I can really see this one working!

Well, seeing as I don't believe that Lucrecia returned Vincent's feelings, he and Tifa could definitely connect through their loss of a loved one to someone else. They're also both very romantic characters by nature. I don't think that Vincent's a totally lost cause - now that he's coming to terms with settling his past and has accepted that his sins aren't so great as he thought (on the Sister Ray, he makes a remark to Hojo that it was him who should have been punished with sleep, rather than Vincent). I think he will be able to move on and find happiness in life. I think taking steps in a new and happier romance would be marvellous in helping him overcome his darker feelings. Tifa is both patient and understanding and also warm and loving enough to draw him out of his shell and encourage him to be less guarded (and I think she's the only person who could realistically reach out to him in that sense), and at the same vulnerable enough to stirr protective feelings in him. They're both not the type to rush into anything, so the relationship would be slow in developing but very powerful once it did reach the point of romance. And as we've seen from his relationship with Lucrecia, once Vincent gives his heart to a woman, he's capable of being utterly selfless for her sake, which would certainly make him the supportive hero Tifa wants so badly. It's a relationship with such romantic potential, and could be much healthier and happier than Cloud/Tifa or Vincent/Lucrecia could ever be, in my view.

Anyway, I've been thinking it over and I decided to cast my vote with my favourite of the moment, which is...RudexTifa! :wub:
