I say Barret over Reno. I can easily see Reno using Tifa for sex, but I can't see Reno committing himself to her. If anything, he'd just use her for sex and then dump her. I don't think he'd have any respect for her, and Tifa deserves better than that.
Barret would commit himself to a serious relationship, unlike Reno. Barret cares about Tifa, he supports Tifa, and he respects Tifa. He's concerned for her welfare, and they get along very well. They understand one another, and they communicate well with one another. Barret's also willing to be the hero for Tifa when she needs it, like when she was thrown into the gas chamber at Junon. I never saw Barret's interest in Tifa to be paternal, either... not when he tells Tifa at the end of the Lifestream event that she's "some kinda lady". That doesn't sound parternal to me! :lol:
