OMG!!! AERITH!!!!! :wub: She looks great! :cleris:
Anastar - August 18, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)
Actually, the Aerith picture disturbs me. It looks like when she's praying in the Forgotten City before Sephy stabs her. I do
NOT want to see the death scene recreated in AC. I couldn't bear to see Aerith get killed in AC graphics. It was bad enough the first time. I don't want to see it again. :sad:
Plus, I'm tired of not seeing her whole face. <_<
There's also pics of Sephy and Kadaj:

O_o you are right Aly, I think it's the scene of her praying before her death :sob:
But (eyeless) Aerith is looking so beautifully angelic ^_^
Sephy = hottt :sephy:
Kadaj = pretty :fangirl:
Real_Emotion - August 18, 2005 05:47 PM (GMT)
Aeris!!!!
I starting to think that Square won't even show Aeris's whole face until the end of the movie itself... and to that I say: #~(^@$&@#@^&@%!$$!^*#!!!! :mad:
*calms down*
Err... :ermm:... Sephy looks hot and those materia(?) look pretty. Feh, I'm kinda tired of seeing Kadaj all the time. <_<

EnglishRose - August 18, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
*squee!* I think that pic is pretty, but yes, it would be sad to see aerith die. But do you think it means you would be able to see cloud's emotion in proper graphics, though?? Then we would see that he would be soo sad!! :sad:
:woot: that pic of sephiroth is gorgeous!!
Anastar - August 18, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
If they want to show us Cloud's reaction to Aerith's death in proper graphics, all they have to do is show us a flashback of the funeral and/or Cloud carrying her body up the staircase from the underground chamber to the lake. They don't have to recreate her death.
Kaldea - August 18, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
Bah! I'm for recreating the death scene. I wish I could see all of FFVII in these graphics because I prefer realistic over anything else. It would be so awesome to see Cloud's reaction and how he holds Aeris. :wub:
And Sephiroth looks great with those bangs!
Seii Monogatari - August 18, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't mind it if they re-created her death scene. :ermm: We know it would happen with a remake anyway, so why complain? I'm looking forward to it, hi-res Aeris, sad Cloud, emotional-ness. :(
SEPHY = HAWTZORZZ!! :wub:
FF_Goddess - August 18, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
*Agrees with Jenova and Seii* :woot:
Sephiroth= :wub:
Sefie - August 18, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
*Reluctantly agrees* SE's finally made Sephiroth attractive...I'm SO glad they fixed the bangs

I think it'd be cool if they did that. It's kind of like Cloud can't face Aeris until he forgives himself...perhaps when he reunites with her? :whistle:
lenne - August 18, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
I WANT TO SEE THE MOVIE ALREADY!!!!!!!!
*calms down*
Schala - August 19, 2005 01:31 AM (GMT)
At last! A picture of Sephiroth that doesn't look screwed up! Definitely easy on the eyes... :wub:
Buhon - August 19, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
Is it just me, or does the "shadow" across Aerith's face look awkward? At first glance, it looked like she had a double-chin, or that someone had cut-and-pasted her face from elsewhere...
Kaldea - August 19, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
I don't see anything wrong with it. It's just to define her jaw and add light to make it more dramatic I suppose.
yin-chan - August 19, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
I dont necessarily want to see the whole stabbing scene again :cry: but I wouldn't mind it, as long as they show Cloud crying over her. I wanna cry in AC, danggit!!!!! *flails about*
The pics look awesome, Sephy looks amazing! Check out the gravity-defying bangs! :lol:

It looks weird to me, too, Buhon... but I think it's just the quality of the scan.
Kusari Yarou - August 19, 2005 11:20 AM (GMT)
*drools over Sephy along with everyone else* Now that's more like the old Sephiroth! The previous scans of him have him looking kinda girlish but now... :fangirl:
I don't mind if they show the stabbing scene...just as long as they show her presence from beyond the grave. And I do mean her whole face! Though her half face is beautiful already...more beautiful than Tifa's whole face, IMHO :P

I wouldn't mind the death scene, if they do it in a beautiful way, like Chika illustrated it in her FF7 - Story on Garakuta, I thought she did a terrific job. ^_^
yin-chan - August 19, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
OMG! September 8!! Lucky lucky lucky people in Japan!!
Ahhh I wish with my entire soul I was in Japan... ;;__;;
Buhon - August 19, 2005 06:25 PM (GMT)
Personally, I wouldn't mind a recreation of Aerith's death scene as long as it wasn't excessively graphic. Perhaps something more cut-away and suggestive... rather than actually having to see any stabbing and bleeding. It would be more dramatic if they were subtle about it anyway - anything more would be too much anyway, but it would lessen the appropriate impact.

Ok good, so I'm not crazy... (in this instance, anyway :lol: ). I figured it was the scan quality, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one...
Kuki Prower - August 19, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
I would love to see the death scene recreated, its one of FFVII's most famous moments...scratch that, one of the most important moments in game history.
I don't think that they would show blood, they didn't do it because of the Legend of the Masumane, plus I personally think it would be quite sickening to see blood trickling from her stab wound.

A bit more on the Japanese theater release, from
GameSpot:
Advent Children theatrical details unveiled
Only members of FFVII's online fan club will be invited to attend Square Enix's limited big screen run of Advent Children at three major cities in Japan.
TOKYO--Square Enix announced details on the forthcoming movie debut of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The company briefly disclosed last month that the computer-animated movie will be hitting theaters in Japan before its DVD and UMD release, but did not outline any specific information.
Admission to the movie screenings will not require any tickets, but, like most things that are free, there's a catch. Entrance is by invitation only, and only Final Fantasy VII fans that have already registered to the official "Shinra Company" online fan club hosted at Square Enix's site will be invited. The site is no longer accepting club members at the current time. If more fans sign up than there are seats available, Square will randomly select attendees from the pool.
As expected, the theatrical screening of Advent Children will be a limited run in major cities in Japan. The premiere screening will take place on September 8 in Tokyo's Virgin Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills, which also happens to be the theater where Square Enix held its Final Fantasy XII debut presentation in late 2003. The film's creators will also be on hand to speak at the showing.
Following the premiere, Square Enix will show Advent Children at three cities from September 10 to 16: Virgin Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Toho Cinemas Nagoya Bay City in Nagoya, and Toho Cinemas Nijou in Kyoto. The movie will be shown once per day beginning at 6:30 PM at the three locations.
Gamers without a Shinra Company membership or a ticket to the screening can still pick up Advent Children and watch it in the comfort of their own homes on September 14, when the DVD and UMD versions hit Japan and North America simultaneously. Both formats of the film will cost $29.99. More information can be found in GameSpot's preview.

Question: Is Venice the only film festival that AC will be playing at this year? Or will it be playing at any other ones? I remember that it played at Film Festivals in Venice, Montreal, Tokyo, and Paris last year... were there any others? :unsure:
yin-chan - August 21, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
Well it definitely didn't play at the Melbourne Film Festival... :unsure:

I hope the Venice Festival doesn't give a bunch of spoilers out. You know that's a bad thing. :( So I hope they give us vital.
Clorith - August 27, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
I think spoilers will be everywhere if you walk into the forums. News on the AC.net main site will have spoiler warnings, though. :gift:
I for one should be disappearing until my copy of AC comes.
