- Cloud's dying, but he doesn't seem to care about spending the time he has left with Tifa. Since most people want to spend the time they have left with the people they love, it doesn't seem that he loves her.
- Cloud doesn't tell Tifa that he has Geostigma and doesn't tell her that he moved into the Church. Why is he hiding things from her if he loves her?
- If Cloud's hiding things from Tifa, he apparently doesn't feel understood by her.
- Cloud lets the answering machine pick up messages from Tifa instead of answering the phone. He seems unwilling to communicate with her, which doesn't show that he loves her.
- Cloud chooses to talk to Aerith's spirit about his need for forgiveness instead of talking to Tifa about it, which shows that he feels better understood by Aerith and that he has greater trust in her.

Rabids have nothing to do with it. Square decided not to revive her before the release of FFVII.

there is contriversy between the cloud,Aerith,and tifa love triangle. but the the true answer to the triangle is that cloud and Aerith love each other but tifa loves cloud. cloud doesnt see tifa as a girlfriend he only sees her as a friend because they knew each other as friends since they were young.

Wow, so many good reasons already! I don't know if this was mentioned earlier, but Cloud and Tifa's childhood was over-rated. He didn't even remember the promise, so how can it be such an important thing about them? But now in AC, Cloud remembers everything about Aerith.

that's super true. :cleris: but i don't think tifa should love cloud anymore, she'll get lonely (like i care!!! :whistle: just kidding, just kidding) people will feel sorry for her and cloud will be "omg, i hurt u" but i doubt thats gonna happen. cloud admired tifa as a child but tifa started liking cloud when hes all grown up. -the "we knew eachother since we were 4 years old" thing is too common. it's corny and it's been used many times.. who cares if they shared a long friendship? they're cool as friends and that's fine.

-aeris made him realize many things but tifa just sat quiet and let cloud be while he can be focusing on something dangerous.

i don't kno if those r good reasons.. but i'm sure there are many other reasons that explain how cloud and tifa will NEVER happen..

Aerith was the first to make Cloud laugh within just hours, but more probably minutes of meeting each other. What more can be said about that? :wub:

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in a KH interview, at the very least. Can't remember much about it, but I think he mentioned it always interested him to do a sort of side-story for Cloud and Aerith, but I imagine time constraits led them to including a simpler version in Kingdom Hearts instead.

Would've been nice to have a FF Gaiden much like the Suikogaidens, though.

I like to think that Aerith was leading him TO Tifa because the rock Cloud was standing on was about to collapse under his very feet. Wouldn't want a repeat drowning in Lifestream goo, do we? So she leads him to the person standing closest to him-- Tifa.

It ain't Aerith's fault that the rock under Tifa gives way instead. ^^;

No, the second picture is not from Advent Children. It was made about five years ago as an April Fool's joke before AC was even announced.

The OVA make it looked like CloudXTifa, but we all know back then Cloud still had a crush on Tifa but now it's totally different!!!

it was a while since i played it/ got to the end. im starting a new game. anyway, Tifa shoulf be with jonny :mad: and near the end of ff7 Tifa thinks that she'll never be that close to him again. ( i think, thats how i remember. i could be wrong..) and i think in advent children, Cloud has all those flash backs about aeris ( again... i think) .... :cleris:
How come Tifa doesnt just ask cloud out? Aeris is totally willing to go on a date with cloud. and they kiss on the gondola. ( im so sure about that one!)

Hmm, for me the strongest evidence is that it's been two years since everything but Cloud and Tifa still haven't gotten together or aren't even living together in harmony. If Cloud really loved Tifa at the end of the game, then he should have settled down with Tifa right after everything and made his home with her, but nope. Didn't happen. :whistle:

Also I think it would be a bit out of place for Cloud to suddenly mention the Promised Land and Aeris at the end of the game while holding Tifa if he really loved Tifa. I don't think he's that mean.

Evidence I took from CoT and AC. More to come after we get translation for Aerith's story.

1. Cloud was doubtful when asked whether or not he loves Tifa.
2. He obviously kept secrets from Tifa especially when it pertains to Aeris
3. He ran away to live in Aerith's Church soon after that.
4. At the end of the film Cloud did not return Tifa's affection even when she shamelessly gave him a "flirty look"
4. He was completely capitvated when he saw Aeris.
5. The bonus ending shows Cloud ridding off alone once again to visit the flower fields where Aerith was shown waiting. Aerith asked Cloud earlier in the film "Why do you always come here?" to which Cloud replies "I want to be forgiven" Well by the end of the movie Cloud got his closure and forgiveness from both Aerith and Zack and yet we still see him paying visit to places where Aerith's presence can be found. hmm I wonder why
:cleris: Nomura himself said the bonus endding was a significant sequence and I believe that. Why would he go through the trouble putting in the bonus endding with both Cloud and Aerith in it if it meant nothing?

Also in reminiscence we see Cloud's Motorcycle parked right next to the the flower fields. Now I don't know if this part of the bonus is before or after the movie but it further proves that Cloud is a frequent visitor to that place. It seems to me something draws him there, and that something had always been Aerith imo. If infact that phone conversation he had with Tifa in reminiscence occured after the movie I interpret that scene as further proof that Cloud and Tifa are not an item after AC. Cloud still visits the fields where Aerith was last seen in the movie and he calls Tifa to tell her he'll be taking a day off and he did not let her know why. If they were together he won't be keeping things from her. :envy: I believe Cloud came to terms with his feelings and that Tifa and him can't be anymore than friends because the crush he had on her never amounted to anything more than a past crush. It's evident in both CoT and AC. In AC we also learn that he pines for Aerith which is why he still linger around places where he can feel her presence. :cleris:

Um, not sure if these would be considered AC spoilers, so... just in case:

Aerith actually says something akin to, "You finally came... even though you're about to break."

If anything, it indicates that Cloud rarely, if never, went to the Forgotten City. Probably because it was too painful for him to return to the place where Aerith was buried.

It's highly likely that Reminiscence takes place after AC. Cloud is now receiving phone calls from his friends, something he didn't do in AC. He's also closing his shop for the day, something he never did in CoT. All these point to him recovering from his depression and self-isolation in AC, as well as finally learning to relax a little after how he kept taking deliveries in CoT.

I really liked the translations in the subtitled movie I had. Aerith actually said "You came! Even though it'll be hard for you seeing that place again." I really hope they keep this translation because it makes it clear that Cloud has a hard time seeing the site of Aerith's burial. I think it makes it more clear in regards to Cloud's feelings for Aerith. Sure, guilt might make it hard for Cloud to see Aerith's grave again. But, more likely, grief would make it the most difficult. :cleris:

The quote I was reffering to was when Aeris asked: Question! Why exactly do you come here?" But I made a mistake in thinking she asked "why do you always come here" Thanks for helping me realize that. ^^
