I don't know if this has been disscused in here already, but, when the Highwind lands for the first time in the North Crater, at the beginning of Disk 3, if you enter the ship and talk to Cid, he will tell you this:

Cid: "You ever see the play 'LOVELESS'?"

Cloud: Yes

Cid: "Yeah? Really? Well, that's fine."
"They've been doin' that play every summer since I was a kid."
"An' I remember seein' it just once..."
"That was when I was in Midgar interviewing to be a pilot."
"I had some free time and thought I'd catch the play."
"Now, I'm no big fan of the theater or anything."
"But this thing put me to sleep, just like I thought it would."
"Finally during the last scene, the guy next to me woke me up
tellin' me my snorin' was too loud."
"So about all I really remember of that play is the end..."
"The sister of the lead asks her lover,"

(He gestures dramatically)

Cid: "Do you really have to leave?"

(He shakes his head)

Cid: "And the guy says,"

(He gestures again)

Cid: "I promised. The people I love are waiting."

(He shakes his head)

Cid: "......I don't understand. Not at all. But...... please take care
of yourself."

(He nods)

Cid: "Of course... I'll come back to you. Even if you don't promise to
wait. I'll return knowing that you'll be here."

(He turns away and taps his foot.)

Cid: "I remember thinking when I heard those lines,"
"*&%! What the hell's he talkin' about? But, you know... now I'm
not so sure..."
"I think I understand......"

I think that there are many parts in that play that resembles a lot Aerith's last actions, like for example:

"I promised. The people I love are waiting."
She felt a lonely because she was the only remaining Cetra, also she knew what she had to do to activate Holy, it was like her task, like a promise, something she had to do. She also knew that her people (the Cetra) would be waiting for her in the Promised Land.

"... But...... please take care of yourself."
Aerith told this to Cloud before she went to pray to Holy at the Forbidden Capitol:
"And Cloud, you take care of yourself."
Pretty much alike, huh?

"Of course... I'll come back to you. Even if you don't promise to wait. I'll return knowing that you'll be here."
Aerith said this:
"Then, I'll be going now. I'll come back when it's all over."
Once again, another resembling line.

Another lines that called my attention are the last ones, the ones Cid said:
"I remember thinking when I heard those lines,"
"*&%! What the hell's he talkin' about? But, you know... now I'm not so sure..."
"I think I understand......"
from my point of view, this might be one of two:
1. The players reaction towards the end of the game. (In the Final FMV)
2. Cloud's reaction, with Cid's style, to the answer from the planet.
......I think I'm beginning to understand.

Why would the game developers put this lines if they don't have a conection with the upcoming events of the game? Was there any special reason to do it? What do you think?

I absolutely agree with you. ^_^ However, some CloTis think that this play is CloTi. Go figure. :whistle: I have no idea what is so CloTi about it. It seems pretty clearly-cut ClAeris to me. :blink:

Maybe because there is no love in cloti (it is love-less!!) aerith and cloud will be reuinted at the end, i know it!!

I completely agree with you, Clerith-son! Cloud and Aerith first met under a poster for Loveless, I don't think you can get more blatant than that. :) :cleris:

yep i agree 100%! i dernt think theres a speck of cloti in the play <_< lol and ya mebbe b/c it's complete LOVELESS. it really matches wat aeris sed to cloud.. its prolly supposed to.. and that's why they r destined to be together~! :fangirl:

Yeah, remember, Anxious Heart is playing, and the camera scans on the building across the poster of Loveless, and then comes down to look at Aerith. She then gets knocked down, and finds Cloud standing there, she asks what wrong, he buys a flower, and...and...*squee* :cleris:

Probably the reason why the Clotis think that it's a Cloti play is because of the picture of the girl on the billboard who resembles Tifa. O_o'

I'm in the middle of disk one and I vaguly remember the poster (I've played it before, but I remember fully that conversaion. Strange...) Anyway, I agree with Clerith-son. She (or he, you never know. Sorry about that ^_^) has a good point.

When I thought back to the poster of Loveless, I think the female figure on it does not resemble Tifa in any way, but that might just be the fact that I don't remember it well.

I think that you should take the enviorment and the dialogue in the play, not necesarily the characters. If you compare them (The enviorment and The dialogue), to the situations I described in my previous post, you may see why it might have Cleris meaning.

Also as Clorith pointed, they (Cloud & Aerith) met under a poster of LOVELESS. Actually the animation goes upside down, from the LOVELESS poster, to the scene where Cloud & Aerith met for the first time in the game.

You said it doesn't have a speck of Cloti in it, and then said that's why it's called "loveless" :o

Then again you might want to know that the play LOVELESS, despite how loveless it sounds, is a romantic play about lovers being torn about due to circumstances (based on Cid's lines in the game of course)?
Somewhat like the phrase "A love that can never be", you don't take it literally as 2 persons cannot or don't love each other...... oh well, I guess there are people do take things on a mere superficial level sometimes lol :ermm:

Just because it is a love that can never be, doesn't mean it can stop two people loving eachother. Ever heard of the song, "Accidentally in Love" ? It was sung by the Countin' Crows, it was in Shrek 2. I think MT also has that line in her user title.

There's a picture of the Tifa look-alike in Loveless behind Rude in his Advent Children picture with Reno sticking out his tongue. ;)
