This a report I will be adding on to over time. It's kinda like a online magazine. It is reporting the love of Cloud and Aeris. Note I copied it right out of my save files so please bear with me.

Hello and welcome to the first ever Aeris report. In this I will be proving the love between Cloud and Aeris.

Theory-Well really what it is that Two characters from FF7, Cloud and Aeris, love each other. Part of the love triangle. Two women (Aeris and Tifa) Love a man (Cloud). But Cloud only loves one of them. Aeris. (Yeah I know. I have no life.)

Debate- Well the debate is that Cloud loves Tifa and to a lesser extinct Aeris loves Sephiroth.

1. Cloud and Tifa were close childhood friends.

~ False. Tifa clearly states during the Lifestream Event that she and Cloud didn’t know one another very well as children. For more information:



2. Cloud and Tifa spend a romantic night under the Highwind together near the end of Disk Two.

~ There are at least three different versions of this scene and it changes according to Tifa's affection level with Cloud as governed by the Date Mechanism. In at least one version, Cloud completely shuns and rejects Tifa's affection in that scene. Therefore, Cloud's affection towards Tifa is completely optional to the player. For more information:



3. The Date Mechanism stops working after the Date scene at the Gold Saucer.

~ False. There are at least three versions of the scene where Cloud and Tifa spend the night under the Highwind late in Disk Two, and that scene changes according to Tifa’s affection level with Cloud as governed by the Date Mechanism. For more information:



4. Cloud’s affecton for Tifa is optional to the player.

~ True. Cloud does not have to go on a Date with Tifa, nor does he have to show any affection whatsoever to Tifa in the Last Night Under the Highwind scene. For more information:




5. Cloud and Tifa have sex under the Highwind.

~ There are at least three versions of the scene where they spend the night under the Highwind, and Cloud is capable of completely rejecting Tifa's affection in that scene. In the second place, there is absolutely nothing to prove that they had sex. When Tifa says, “Words aren’t the only thing that tell people what you’re thinking”, Cloud only responds with, “………”, which leaves it open to the interpretation of the player. In the third place, having sex with someone does not necessarily mean that you love them.

Evidence-Well...
After the first bombing minssion Cloud show affection toward Aeris.

Cloud agrees to be her bodygaurd. Surely for anyone else at that point in the game Cloud would not agree to do this since he, at that point was still pretty cold.

Cloud rescues her from the Shinra building. Again, assuming Tifa and Barret aren't pushing him to do it he would not care.

In the date, if you take Areis, he shows the most affection towards her. Also, in the date, keep in mind that the person is asking Cloud. Just because, say Barret asks doesn't mean Cloud's gay.

It is Cloud who morns for the death of Aeris and who sends her on her viking furnrel. (This is so off topic but if you have Vincent in your party then his sprite will look messed up.)

This is just my theory but, it seems that Cloud also continues to fight Sephiroth to avenge the memory of Aeris.

Other evedence- In FFT Cloud protects Areis from enemys. I can't be deep in detail because I've never played the game.

In KH Cloud says he is looking for someone and his light. This is why Cloud joined Hades.

Well I'm done for now. Next issue I'll explore it even further.

I'm a bit a rusty at this, but I'll add my two cents in this topic. (Try not kick me hard) ^_^ Keep in mind though that I'm always under the belief that the game is open to interpretation(though I do prefer cleris, and loves to pick on the rabid clotis).

Try to expand on this some more. Some clotis would dismiss this claiming that agreeing to be some else's bodyguard doesn't equal a romantic affection, but you can prove that Cloud did show more affection towards Aerith moreso than Tifa in the begginning. You are right that Cloud's behavior is differrent when he's with Aerith. Compare it to the time Tifa was practically begging Cloud to join her in a mission with Barret. Barret even had to offer him Marlene's tuition just to get him to join while he agreed on Aerith's offer to be his bodyguard just for a date.

Aerith was also the first one who made Cloud laugh in the game.

You can expand on this too. In her death, Cloud showed how important Aerith was to him. I'd give you the lines but I'm too lazy right now. :P

Careful on Kingdom Hearts though. They hate those....

She wasn't just the first. She was the first and only, who made Cloud laugh. :cleris: :fanboy:

But wasn't he looking for Sephiroth when he made that deal with Hades? I thought Cloud was trying to find Aerith, but then Final Mix pretty much said that it was Sephiroth he was searching for.

No, in Final Mix, it was stated that Sephiroth is Cloud's darkness. So, Cloud's light must be... someone else... :angel:

The problem is that I've seen two translations of the same event. One has Sephiroth saying, "I was searching for you too." While the other one has Sephiroth saying "I was searching for you."

My personal opinion on this is that Cloud had lost his light and had to find his way out of the darkness before he could be with his light once more. So, he was searching for the cause of the darkness, so he could regain his light. ^_^

Woah slow down. I never played KH. I was going by the content of the forum/site and othe souces. And this is my beta copy so mistakes are bound to happen. Thanks for setting me straight.

I read the "I was searching for you too" translation, and was quite disappointed. So basically Cloud made the deal with Hades to reach Sephiroth, but his goal ultimately was to find Aeris? Is that right?

yes it should be cause ive down loaded that version on bearshare before and aerith jumps in the middle of the battle and stops it saying

"no no no this isnt the way"

where was this? :blink: ?

Please, tell us where that is. We want to know. I don't remember it.
