I'm pretty sure that's Aeris' voice in the beginning. :aeris: :D

Materia Thief - July 22, 2005 01:41 AM (GMT)
I would be surprised if it wasn't Aeris, but wow! It looked so cool! ^_^
Marlene - July 22, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
So when is crisis core based, before or after you know who's death.
Kaldea - July 22, 2005 03:18 AM (GMT)
Well first of all, it wouldn't make sense if it was Tifa since the girl speaks of a promise in Midgar and never seeing the guy again. It would have to be Aeris and Zack.
But that trailer is so awesome. I will definately get a PSP just for the game. I love Zack. And more Cloud!
Also, the more I watch it the more I fall in love with the music in the beginning.
Marlene - July 22, 2005 02:46 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't know if it was Aerith or not, since my computer does not have sound, silence is golden.
But when is it based, befire or after spoilering event of Aerith.

Crisis Core apparently happens before the events of FFVII, since Zack is alive. Don't worry about Aerith's death being a spoiler... we don't consider that a spoiler here, since everyone knows about it.
Clorith - July 22, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
You can view it at Gamespot as well:
http://www.gamespot.com/psp/rpg/crisiscore...es&subj=6129592I'm so happy it's Aerith!! At last! Square Enix is finally letting me come out of cold turkey. Our girl's back at last! :aeris:

I still can't see it.

Clorith - July 23, 2005 02:04 PM (GMT)
Ah crap, Gamespot removed it, just like IGN. You can download the full version here:
http://files.filefront.com/FFVII_Core_Cris...;/fileinfo.html It's 26.4MB, so it'll take some time for dial-up users... We know for sure the one speaking is Aerith, so the next logical deduction would be that she's the "woman" the narrator spoke of in the full trailer. Anyway, it's definitely Maaya Sakamoto's voice, and she says,
"He was... like a white cloud drifting through azure skies. [We see Zack's face for a brief moment.] As we peered skywards through the rafters of a heavenless Midgar--we made a promise. And that was the last time we spoke."Aerith is really poetic, ne? :aeris:
Oh, and the case report on the Nibelheim Incident says Zack was 18!
Anastar - July 23, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
26 MGs will take me forever to download! But thanks for the link, Clorith! :huggle:
It's Maaya Sakamoto's voice? :fangirl: Awesome! It's Aerith!! :aeris:
Clorith - July 23, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
Yes yes!! I'm just wondering how she's going to fit into the plot! Flashbacks of her seem the most likely, but they did say in interviews that Crisis Core would shock us. There must be more that happened after Nibelheim that we don't know about. Oh, I'm putting my money on Crisis Core being post-Nibelheim fire, since the whole trailer is about Zack and Cloud trying to outrun ShinRa. Zack even says, "Don't bother offering me my life. Not unless I can be... free!"
Ah, I think I should just type out the whole script at this rate.
Aerith: He was... like a white cloud drifting through azure skies. As we peered skywards through the rafters of a heavenless Midgar--we made a promise. And that was the last time we spoke.
Narrator: If it weren't for the events of 5 years ago... Their fate might not have gone awry.
Zack: Don't bother offering me my life. Not unless I can be... free!
Sephiroth: Betrayer... Know your place!
Cloud: Answer me, Sephiroth!
Zack: Why did you kill the villagers?
Cloud: Sephiroth!!!
yin-chan - July 23, 2005 05:41 PM (GMT)
Maybe there will be bits of her relationship with Zack! Zeris fans would be delighted with that.. :)
~Cleara Aura~ - July 23, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
That's for sure Aerith.She's a good poet,as it sounds.

What does that mean when Aerith said they made a promise and then it was the last they spoke or seen eachother. It's Zack and Aerith right?
Even the narrator what does he mean?
Kaldea - July 23, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
I am so excited for this game! I want the soundtrack bad!
And Aeris just added that beautiful touch of mystery yet again with her awesome voice at the beginning. And for once she sounds contemplative instead of all out cheery. I really like that. I like thinking of her as deep and emotional.
And I don't know why, but I love Zack even more now.
Onigiri - July 24, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
I guess Aerith and Zack made a promise too. It sure sounds like Aerith, and it does say Midgar, and you see Zack's face, so I think its about those two...
Clorith - July 24, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
The trailer keeps talking about freedom, Aerith and Zack both mention it... Maybe Zack promised to take her out of Midgar? That's my wild guess, anyway. Aerith did say in FFVII that Elmyra always wanted to leave the city. It'd be a nice touch of irony since Cloud was the one who brought her out of Midgar in the end . But, it's just one of my idle rambles.
I think the narrator is talking about the Nibelheim incident, which happened 5 years before FFVII.
Kaldea - July 24, 2005 06:29 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I can easilly see the promise being something like that. It fits her. I'm sure anyone like her who lives in the slums would dream of travelling and getting out.
I think this game will bring out even more of how deep FFVII really was.
Seii Monogatari - July 24, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)
I <3 Zack so much now. I never disliked him, but ... hearing his words about wanting to remain free, and Aeris's description of him in the beginning ... I really liked him now. I can't wait for Crisis Core. :D
Looks like it's gonna be another of those games that causes Seii to purchase a whole new game console just to play the one game. -_-
*sigh*
Guess I'll hafta start saving me money ...

Only time that happened for me! Stupid PSP! HATE!
Seii Monogatari - July 24, 2005 08:46 AM (GMT)
I got a PSX for Chrono Cross, and a PS2 for Kingdom Hearts (although I knew I'd get FFX sooner or later as well).
I'm a tool. :D
Anastar - July 24, 2005 01:10 PM (GMT)
Clorith - it took me a 1.5 hours to download the trailer, then I had to spend another 1.5 hours downloading a new version of QuickTime to view it! But I finally got it... and I loved it! There's not enough of Aerith, though! I wanna see her!

Well, remember what was said about Crisis Core at E3? At the end of the trailer, it said, "A story of three young men and one woman bound for destiny's core". The three young men are Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth... so Cloud is obviously part of Aerith's destiny.
The trailer shows Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth during Nibelheim incident... but the whole game can't be about that one incident. Apparently, it also deals with what happened afterwards in Hojo's lab, but that wouldn't be much of a game - so it has to deal with what happened after their escape from Hojo's lab, too.
Clorith - July 24, 2005 04:15 PM (GMT)
Well, as long as you saw it!! *pops champagne*
Yup yup! I think the line about their fate turning awry makes it more obvious that the woman they're referring to is Aerith. :gift:

Oh, definitely... Tifa didn't have any fate to turn awry with Zack. Aerith did, but from what Wilhelm found in Dismantled, it won't turn into an AerithxZack thing. In one part of Dismantled, it was said that Aerith liked Cloud more than Zack. Plus, it's the story of one woman... with Aerith's voice at the start of the trailer, that must mean it'll be about her! :fangirl:
I wonder if part of Crisis Core deals with what happened in Disk One of FFVII? :woot:
Marlene - July 24, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
I just hope that it does not makes most Claerith fans into Zaerith fans.
It would be cool if you could actually play as her in parts of the game.Considering it will show more about the lab incident with Sphiroth,it might prove my point about him,but you never know.
I wonder how often Aerith and Cloud interact, since she is Zacks "Girlfriend"
in this game, and I guess they don't even know each other yet.Just because Zack is her boyfriend in this does not meen Cloud is not her true one.
Kaldea - July 24, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
I'm sure the game will go more into things that FFVII left out. If this game is about Zack's life mainly, it will have to have Aeris taking a bigger role so we may even learn more about her.
I'm interested in what they'll be showing for Cloud too. So exciting!
Marlene - July 24, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
I sure Clouds role,if not it sure would be a waste of money, since the very definition og FF7 is Cloud quest.
Schala - July 25, 2005 02:35 AM (GMT)
That trailer looks so cool! Anime style! Everyone looks really awesome, especially Zack... I wonder what the promise is though. I just know that someone's going to use this as 'proof' of why Zack and Aeris belong together and therefore the only logical pairing left is Cloud x Tifa. There's just always something about promises that bind two individuals together for life...
I'd love to learn more about the mysterious Zack who graced the screen for just about five minutes. He didn't even have a last name! I can't wait for Crisis Core to be released! Good thing I already have a PSP... Heh heh.

I don't think there's any danger of that, because it says that their promise went awry at Nibelheim. Plus, it says that Aerith's destiny is tied to three men... not one. ;)

Thats thought you expressed anastar just made me think of something, when I looked at the FF7 citedel, and looked at a fanfiction that at the end, when Aerith refused to be revived, not only did she dump cloud, she also had sex with Zack, witch really pisses me off.
I wonder if that might be proof of Aeriths love for zack in FF7,because its cloud whom she truely loves. And when someone tries to proove otherwise, its really frusterating. Is this the way it is in crisis core, because this might be why some cloti's think she is a slut.
Clorith - July 25, 2005 04:34 PM (GMT)
Seriously, what do you hope to gain by voicing such opinions on a Cleris forum? And anyone who bases facts on fanfiction ought to have his head examined.
Marlene - July 25, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
I don't base everything on fanfiction, you need to get more than just your head examined if you think that.
Yukari - July 25, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
Then MoA, please stop basing your opinions on fanfiction and start thinking about Aerith and her relationships from a canon perspective, not a fanon perspective. Speculation is all well and good, but how on earth can a fan-written story prove anything about Aerith's love for Zack?
Back on the subject, I'm really getting interested in Crisis Core. I'm partial to Zack x Aerith, and I think Clorith's idea about the promise being Zack saying he'll take Aerith out of Midgar is really cute. Plus, I'm looking forward to learning more about Zack as a character from what he himself says and does, rather than what other characters say about him. Wonder if he'll be anything like Laguna? *crosses fingers*
Wingless - July 25, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
I'm really excited about CC. That new trailer is absolutely awesome. :) Zack's one of my favorite characters, especially now that he's getting the spotlight. He and Aerith are very similar, self-sacrificing, positive people. They both give up so much for Cloud.
Clorith, I love the tragedy of the idea that Zack promised her that he'd take her out of Midgar. That'd be so beautiful and sad. And cool that Cloud fulfills Zack's wish even though Cloud doesn't even know about it. :)
Like Madame Batolli, I like ZackxAerith too. I think, before Aerith met Cloud, that she really did care about Zack. But it was never meant to be due to the terrible circumstances of Nibelheim. So her feelings have obviously simmered down to fond memories by the time she meets Cloud. I always liked the idea that she loved both of them for who they each were. And that they both loved her for who she was. It shows how beautiful her character is, that she can give so much love to those around her.
I really think Aerith is going to play a large role in CC, which would be wonderful! It's nice to have a game where she can be active as a character again. :) I wonder if it will start when Zack meets her! How cute would that be?
As for his character, well, I think he's going to have some Laguna-like traits, but I think he's going to have some Cloud-like traits as well. :) So he'll be very sweet, but a flirt, and at the same time loyal to those he loves. I think he'll have a lot of charisma. :) The way he defends Cloud is so beautiful... I can't wait to see more. And the fight with Sephiroth is breathtaking. I always wondered what happened between them, because of course, Cloud didn't know, since he hadn't made it to the reactor yet.
We need more details, everyone. :)
Sefie - July 28, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
Mmm, know what'd be cool? If there were parts you could play as Aeris, and then parts where you could play as Zack and Cloud. Kinda like in FF9
Clorith - July 28, 2005 03:26 AM (GMT)
Yes yes, I was hoping that, too. I mean, they said it's about the 4 of them, but how much of Sephiroth can you fit into post-Nibelheim? Especially from Zack's point of view.
Wingless - July 28, 2005 03:51 AM (GMT)
I'm hoping Nibelheim is just the ending. <_< If that's all there is to CC, then SE has created a disappointment. They might as well just release LO and forget CC if all they're doing is focusing on Nibelheim. <_<
It'd be SO cool if you could play as Aerith. :woot: I mean, in the actual game, you only got to play as her during one two-second run to the elevator of the Shinra building. Laaaaaame. It'd be so great if we could switch between Zack and her as playable characters! Or even if you could get Zack and Aerith in the party together! Oooo, to have Aerith playable again would be so great! :)
Do we know what kind of battle system CC is going to have? (that's random, isn't it? :))
I'd like to see some more interaction between Aerith and the Turks and how Aerith escapes Hojo's labs. There is plenty of room for some Aerith action! Let's hope SE delivers.
Clorith - July 28, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
Hmm... But it looks like Nibelheim is just the beginning, to me... :ermm: Because the trailer has Aerith saying goodbye to Zack, and the latter and Cloud escaping from ShinRa...
yin-chan - July 28, 2005 01:03 PM (GMT)
Oh yes a playable Aeris would be amazing!!! :fangirl: I'd love to be able to play as Aeris and Zack as well as Cloud!
I hope they tell us more about the Ancients and how Aeris escapes from the Turks~!!! More Aeris please!! :fangirl:
I hope it won't just focus on Nibelheim...I'm getting a bit tired of that seeing how many things seem to revolve around it lately.. -_-
Evenstar - July 30, 2005 06:18 AM (GMT)
I have yet to download the new CC trailer (I'm waiting for my new DSL to come soon... yay! :D), but from what I'm hearing, CC sounds so interesting! I just hope they don't limit it to the Nibelheim incident (again) as it gets rather tiring seeing the same thing over again (the Nibelheim scenes in the original FFVII always bored me for some reason).
Sefie - August 1, 2005 09:46 AM (GMT)
*Sniff* I downloaded it...but DQ's computer won't play it
