I'll admit I'm not the biggest Tifa fan, but I know lots of you are, so I thought it'd be nice to have a place to defend her character, especially if you get upset seeing her dissed in the Venting area or elsewhere.

I like the fact that she really does care about her friends, and that she's willing to ignore her feelings when it comes to Cloud and Aeris, even those who think it's Cloti should be able to see that she was very gracious towards Aeris and didn't try to turn others against her.

well, i hate people who degrade her. they say that she's HAWT and has the greatest chest, but that can be offending. if i had people talk about me like that, it would seem that i have no personality. the poor girl. :tifa: i used to really hate here, but now she's on of my favourite characters. especially when she's paired up with this guy!! lol. shes wonderful, and needs more of the spotlight. :tifa:

But isn't she already the most overrated ff female character? She's a good character, I agree with you on that, but as for me, Aeris is the one who needs more spotlight... :unsure:

Tifa an intresting character because she takes the lead female spot of the game, but is neither the love intrest or the most important female player.

She's a fighter, runs a bar, dresses provacatively, and was the most popular girl in town, but she's very shy and with drawn.

She's afraid of what others think, but is almost always the first person fall back to.

It's the contradictions that make her intresting.

What makes Tifa interesting is the fact that she was interested in Cloud as well as Aerith was. That love triangle and her past relationship with him brought in me people but mostly with everyone else it was her *cough* big assets.

But I like Tifa even more because of her being a tragic character with what really happened at that time 5 years ago. When she fully revealed it she got a lot better and became far more interesting.

But also because her limit breaks pack tons of damage!

I do like TIfa very much as a character, she helped Cloud recover the memories he had buried within himself. I believe that Tifa would be a positive on Cloud rather than a negative which i have heard from many people.

Well, I've never liked Tifa, but I do have to hand it to her for sticking by Cloud all throughout his little funk. I mean, she took care of him night and day! How's that for devotion?

I like Tifa and Aerith almost equally... They're both really important to Cloud in different ways. Aerith is innocent, pure, and saintly, while Tifa is realistic, motherly, and "earthly".

The thing that appeals to me most about Tifa is how realistic she is... and how realistic her feelings, thoughts and struggles are. She is easy for many of us to relate to... While Aerith is someone we can all admire and look up to.

Yeah...but lots of people shun her to the side, and lots of tifa haters think that she is trying to steal cloud from aeris. All Tifa wants is for him to be happy. If Cloud loves aeris, she is happy for them both. And she won't try to seperate them.
She is over rated, by Over-the-top tifa lovers, who think that tifa and cloud are hot, and because they had sex under the highwind. there is no proof of that, and that's why she is overrated.
She does need more attention, though, on HERSELF, and her personality, like Aeris lovers think that aeris is a wonderful character because she is good, and holy, her personality is bubbly and exciting. But all the attention tifa gets is either "oh, she's such an attention seeker, and is power hungry..." or "Oh, Tifa is such a cool biatch, and she's teh hottest babe in da game!!" Only a few people focus on what she's really like.
Aeris and Tifa are the leading women in the game, and I daresay that Aeris gets more attention than Tifa, because she dies. (<-spoiler)

But hey, anyone is entitled to their own opinion. :D

I think I'm gonna like Tifa better in AC. I know I haven't seen the movie yet but she seems to be a lot tougher here than she was in FF7. She's still smothering Cloud a bit, but it looks like her actions don't depend upon his anymore...she's not as clingy :P
I understand what you guys mean about her being overrated though. Sometimes, a rabid obsessive fanbase can really cloud your view about a character. I hate it when Tifa is praised at the expense of Aerith and I hate it when people overemphasize and twist her positive assets(not to mention *physical* assets <_< )
