I was just wondering a few things about the story for Cloud, Aerith, and the rest from Kingdom Hearts.

Okay, Aerith lost her home world to the Heartless when she was young.

Now, if she was young when she lost her home, that would mean the heartless took over years ago. This means that for the Kingdom Hearts characters, the story of FF7 never happened. Especially since later on Aerith refers to groing up in the Hollow Bastion (if memory serves me right.)

Now with no mission for AVALANCHE, how would Cloud and Aerith have known each other and what connection does Sephiroth have with Cloud?

For that matter, if Cloud knows Leon (who's working with Aerith), how come Leon doesn't say anything to him about Aerith when they work together in the Colosieum?

OK, all I could say is that you're not supposed to use the story of FF7 here. If you notice, Aerith doesn't even have the White Materia in her ribbon.

Yes, KH seems to say Cloud, Aerith, Cid, Leon, Yuffie and Kairi are from the same world, Hollow Bastion. And their leader was Ansem. Not sure about Sephiroth if he came from that world, the game never seemed to imply on that.

But you have to admit, there were great fics adding in FFVII FFVIII elements. And there's this theory of Cloud was the one who brought Aerith back to life (similar to the Disney Hercules plot). I would be the first to admit it was unlikely, but it was a pleasant thought.

As for Cloud and Leon in the coliseum, who knows? Maybe they knew about being associations with Aerith, but they're not talking. Anyways, I'd like to think Leon and Yuffie helped Cloud to get out of the contract with Hades... but that's speculation, mind you.

Although it was an AU, Nomura was kind enough to shed his thoughts on Cloud and Aerith's relationship in KH, as an echo of their FF7 counterparts. Cloud's quest to find something (in this case, his light) is akin to his FFT (his search to the Promised Land, as he said to Ramza) character and apparently the Cloud in AC as well (him searching for forgiveness).

The whole thing was meant to be Alternate Universe so no, you can't put the FFVII story with the KH story. But you do know that they are connected in a way with Nomura's comment about this being a "bonus" to gamers and that some questions about their relationship in FFVII are answered.

Yeah, what they said. The plot has nothing to do with FF7. That being said, though, the personalities of the people involved still remain the same. The whole idea of soulmates being destined for each other, you get my drift. And even though Rinoa isn't around, Squall/Leon still wears an insignia of her angel wings, so that has to count for something. Maybe he lost her to the Heartless and that's why he changed his name to Leon, we'll never know. A fun fact is that Aerith is still called the "flower girl" in Kingdom Hearts. :lol:

Even though I don't think that FF7 took place before KH or anything like that, I see the two stories as very parallel.

In Final Mix, Cloud calls Sephiroth his "Darkness". Sephiroth was the root of all darkness in Cloud's life in FFVII.

Cloud and Aerith knew one another before the Heartless took over Hollow Bastion, before Darkness took over their world. Cloud and Aerith also knew one another before Darkness took over their world in FFVII.

Cloud battles Sephiroth in KH before Darkness is defeated. Cloud battles Sephiroth in FFVII before Darkness is defeated, too.

Cloud and Aerith are separated in KH when the Heartless descend on their worlds. Cloud and Aerith's "worlds" are also separated in FFVII when Darkness descends.

I could go on, but you get the idea. I view the two stories as parallel - rather than Alternate - universes.

Right here in my official guidebook. They should have mentioned it in her bio page in KH as well, I think... I could scan it tomorrow or something.

Strange... in Aerith's bio she was "Beneath her gentle disposition lies a strong will and a firm dedication of duty. Many were naturally drawn to her."

That's not 100% correct. Remember that Cloud had his own issues before Sephiroth destroyed Nibelheim. Sephiroth is what made Cloud's darkness endless, but is not the root of all the darkness within Cloud.

Well, yes... it might be better to say that Sephiroth was the root of most of Cloud's darkness in FFVII.

Yet, even in Nibelheim Cloud wanted to be a strong SOLDIER like Sephiroth... so Sephiroth was connected to Cloud's childhood problems in a way, too. ;)

But that, was after the incident with Tifa. Yes, he took Sephiroth as a role model, but that's not Sephiroth's fault.

Cloud wanted to be strong and impressive back then. If Sephiroth hadn't been around, Cloud would would have just ended up chosing somebody similar as a role model.

Yeah, Cloud was screwed up way since even hearing of Sephiroth...=D
His problems lie in his interaction with other people and how he was treated. Just a lonely kid desperate for attention.

I gather this portion, along with the Showdown of Fate clip, is what propelled people into thinking that Cloud is searching for Sephiroth, not Aerith?

It could be interpreted that way sure, but Sephiroth doesn't exactly live up to his decription of being his "light" does it?

I like how Aeris talks about Cloud as if she knows what Cloud is like and knows his personality inside out.

Anyway, Sephiroth is definitely not Cloud's light, as seen in the Showdown of Fate, which Cloud specifically tells "you are my darkness". ^^

I think the story is supposed to be playable through all aspects of a new commer. If the put all that spoiling info into KH than what would a new commer to the FF series think. Or someone who hasnt gotten that far in ff7. Kh isnt meant to tell the story of ff7 since its to complex. KH is a game that little kids could play and still enjoy that was the main course and direction for a plot. The whole Aerith x Sephiroth x cloud story never happened in KH. I dont think cloud and sephiroth dont know each other in KH until the Japanese final mix i think. Which means that soldier or anything never happen. So i dont know how cloud and aeris could have met. BUT~ The whole Zack plot in ff7 could have played a role in the meeting of cloud and Aerith in KH.

I know a CloTi that plain refused to play KH just cause it has Cleris in. Aerith is his one and only light, definatly aint Sephiroth

There is this Cloti fan in a local messageboard who told me that the only reason why Aerith was in KH is because a lot of people miss her. True enough, but I think it's not the ONLY reason why she's there. *coughSQUAREISFORCLERIScough*

Most of the KH staff wanted Aerith there instead of Parasite Eve's Aya Brea. Poor Nomura got outvoted. :lol:

But it doesn't explain why they bothered to put Cloud into the story as a result of HER inclusion. If they only cared about her, why bother with Cloud? She would've functioned just as well for the plot with Leon and Yuffie.

Cloud was included in KH because of Aerith. Now tell me why they would bother if all they cared about was Aerith? :rolleyes:
