Is it a wonder that everyone in the FF8 world likes this guy? I think the only one who disapproved of him was Squall!(Sheesh. If I were him, I'd be going :fanboy: Laguna Loire is my dad!)
So why's Laguna so great? Oboy...where to start?! His awesome personality, for one! He's so adorably goofy and upbeat, even in the direst of situations. Even when he's about to jump of a cliff, he's still optimistic.
And his shyness is so endearing! He could barely talk to Julia until he had downed a glass of wine. He almost didn't propose to Raine because he was too shy! Awww!
He's led a very interesting life too. Fought in the Sorceress Wars...became an actor...visited Shumi Village...wrote for Timber Maniacs....and then suddenly, he's the President of Esthar. What a guy! :lol:
I could 'fangirl' on and on about Laguna...and I know I'm not the only one ^_^

I have to join! He's impossible not to love! On my replay through FFVII I was so looking forward to every Laguna dream sequence. :lol: I loved how he parked in the middle of the street in Deling and brushed off Kiros and Ward's protests, how he proclaimed his genius in Centra and he'd brought the wrong map, I adored the scenes between him and Raine and little Ellone - he's such a sweet, silly, carefree guy. I <3 him.

He's one of the reasons to play FF8! :lol: No, really! He balances the sap out with the amusing dream sequences.
I love him 'cause he's like a big kid. When you think about it, he and Squall are exact opposites. Squall's like an adult in a kid's body, but Laguna was like a kid in an adult's body! During the Winhill sequences, I got the feeling that Raine was taking care of TWO kids...Ellone and Laguna :lol:
And don't you just love how he poses after every battle? :fangirl:

But there are also lots of touching moments involving Laguna.
Like in the Winhill scene when Kiros tries to persuade him to go back to his life as a wanderer...and Laguna realizes that he likes life in Winhill even if it only involves going on patrol everyday and looking after Raine and Ellone. I think Winhill was the place where Laguna 'grew up' a bit.

When Kiros says his insight of Laguna not gonna write Winhill in the Timber Mainiacs, because he was afraid someone might come and take Raine away. I went T.T (and Kiros is a cool character! Could not believe there're no fans for this exotic guy) Poor guy, after Julia Laguna became very fearful of losing people.

It was sad when "Eyes on Me" came on the radio and Kiros mentioned that Julia had married someone, and Laguna said something along the lines of "Well, as long as she's happy..." And the song was dedicated to him too!
It's a good thing he found Raine. Notice that he's like an adolescent boy with a crush around Julia but more of himself around Raine.

Hey, sign me up!! When I first saw the dream sequence with Laguna I was just Woot!! He was one of the reasons that made me play the game for days with out much sleep. I was always waiting to see him. :wub: and the FMV with him in rain's grave ;_; I even like him more than Squall!!!

The only flaw I could find in him was that he was such a klutz.But that just makes him more adorable! :fangirl:

Seriously, maybe I've been reading too many fanfics but for me,his biggest flaw is leaving his wife and son at Winhill...and never coming back for them :( Squall had to grow up thinking he was an orphan! I can understand why a lot of Squall/Laguna revelation (aka "I am your father") fics have so much angst and tears in them.

My fellow Laguna lovers, I need some help!

It concerns the ending of FF8 and the bit of Laguna that we saw in it. I always interpreted it to be: Laguna has a flashback of when he proposed to Raine. Years later, he visit his dead wife's grave and is reunited with Ellone and his friends

But a friend of mine has a completely different interpretation! According to his interpretation, that flashback was no flashback at all. It was simply Ellone sending Laguna to the past so that he could change history and say a final goodbye to Raine. It wasn't a marriage proposal at all but him saying goodbye to Raine.
I think this is totally illogical. Ellone can't send people to change history, she can only let them see what has happened in the past. Comments anyone?

This argument all started when I told him that Laguna was Squall's father. But if Laguna and Raine had never gotten married, then Squall can't be their son. Now my entire argument rests on the fact that Laguna and Raine did get married!

Raine's headstone reads: Raine Loire

So they were married. ^_^

Besides, all that stuff with the exchanging rings? How could that not hint at marriage?

I have to join, sry. I love Laguna. He was one of the best characters in the game. The dream sequences with Laguna, Kiros, and Ward were my favorite parts. I found Laguna's story just as, if not more, intriguing than Squall's. :hide:
