Square Enix Announces Own Budget Series

Square Enix today announced a budget series titled Ultimate Hits in Japan. Among the first incarnations of this new series will be re-releases of the following best-selling PlayStation 2 games: Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. Complementing these four titles, will be an Ultimate box containing both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2.

The first five incarnations of Square Enix's Ultimate Hits series will be released in Japan on September 8th. While each of the four standard re-releases will be available for 2,800 yen ($25.25 US), the Final Fantasy X/Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimate Box will retail for 5,600 yen ($50.50 US).

That sounds good and all...but I don't see FFX or FFX-2 as being their 'greatest hit'....I thought FF7 and 8 were much better games. :unsure:

I didn't think much of X-2, either, but I loved FFX. Maybe these are just the first titles to be released in the series? :unsure:

I'd love to see Final Mix released in the US! :fangirl:

FFX-2 did sell well and was relatively popular among the fans despite many of the hardcore fans being disappointed with it and how it was a "Step in the wrong direction.".

I liked it, so shoot me. :P

But Final Mix indeed would be very nice, I do hope they release it here in Europe. I doubt that though..

They base it on the sales. So this doesn't surprise me.

I hated FFX-2 and I wasn't that impressed with FFX so... *Shrugs*

I happened to love both :P
