I have heard some people stating that they hear "Aerith's Theme" playing in the song "Cloud Smiles" from AC. Am I the only one who doesn't hear it? :ermm:

The song is very reminiscent of Aerith's Theme. But I don't actually hear Aerith's Theme in it. :unsure:

However, I am pretty sure that the scene involving Cloud smiling will involve Aerith somehow. :cleris:

Ahhh... I see what they meant now. Yeah, it is those descending notes that start at 1:12 of Aerith's Theme. They are the same, only slightly faster in "Cloud Smiles". Interesting... :huh:

The question is... did S-E do that on purpose? :P

You can hear Aerith's theme 3 times.Start at 0.24 and play up to 0.32.And then there's another one at 0.48 and then play to 0.60.

There's three little pieces that sound like Aerith's Theme.You can still know that tune and recognize it from Aerith's.When I first heard it,it sounded fimiliar.

I don't remember anyone saying that "Cloud Smiles" contains both Cloud and Aerith's Themes. In fact, Cloud doesn't even have a theme song. :P But you can hear elements of Aerith's Theme in the song "Cloud Smiles". :cleris:

Well, we can just pretend for now that Cloud finally has a theme song. It's about bloody time. :lol: The poor bloke is the only lead FF character without his own song. :cloud: :lmao:

I let my other friends hear it and they could spot the notes as well, so I guess we're not imagining things. :lol: Though the last 2 notes of the second part are slightly flatter than the original Aerith's theme. I'm praying it's an Aerith and Cloud scene! Maybe that's where she says, "Let's go... Cloud..."!! :cleris:

The song had a familiar sound to it,I let my sister hear and she told me "a part sounds like that "Flower Lady" song."I don't think we're imagining.

Actually I noticed it as well when Aly first got the song, but I thought I was imagining things and forgot all about it. :lol: Then we found out the title and I started convincing myself. :D

You can hear her theme in it. It's so prettyful. And then Blamb Garden comes up. lol. It's still pretty. For some reason, I can hear Eyes on Me. It might just make me think of it.

Hmm... the notes, to me, are very much close to the Celes (from FFVI OSV), due to the choices of tempo and instruments, and that it lacks impact, going for a linear, constant wave. If it wasn't for the name, I would have said that it's closer to Final Fantasy VI.

However, since this is FFVII what we're talking about, the closest would be Aeris' Theme (which came from Celes'... O_o). Ironically, it starts with the final loop of Aeris' Theme (the notes are a bit different, but when I put it on the keyboard, they're pretty much equal). The half part is just similiar (the notes are pretty different, but reminds a bit). After that, I don't think there's another part I can recognize as being from her theme song.

That's my input on this song... (this reminds me I gotta review some soundtracks for a friend of mine...)

It's from the Dear Friends concerts. Someone was kind enough to record part of it for us. :)

why do you think its aeris cloud song?? i think its an tifa cloud song and im sorry because i prefer aeris but, heard carefully the beginig of the song..i heard like cloud is talking and the he is...." tosiendo" ( i dont know how to say) and i think tifa is there too....

I don't hear anything that has to do with Tifa in it. I dunno how you can really say that Cloud is with any girl during that because we haven't seen the part of the movie that plays this song. :unsure:

ouch!! i thought it was a part of the movie but you are right...it was a concert only..right?? so, that means i was wrong and im very happy! :D

The reason I think it has something to do with Aeris is...

1). The warmth and tenderness of the song is more reminiscent to Aeris's theme than Tifa's more toned down and nostalgic theme.

2). It seems more appropriate having to do with Aeris simply because while things were slightly severed between Aeris and Cloud, nothing has been closed or tied. There are some loose ends between them still, and what I mean by that is... that flower scene that is shown in the trailer, I have my doubts that it's the only scene or even the most vital between Aeris and Cloud.

3). "Cloud Smiles." That says it all in my opinion. Cloud's been absent of Aeris for two years, and Tifa's been around for the past two years. I don't think Tifa could do anything for him that would make him all of a sudden smile. Aeris had that appeal for him in Final Fantasy VII.

4). Nobuo Uematsu's favorite character is Aeris. I don't think it's a coincidence that drops of Aeris's theme are heard in this piece. Uematsu knows the character of Aeris very well, so I wouldn't be surprised if this piece was connected with her in some way.

That's just my opinion! Surely I could be mistaken, but that's simply the impression I get. :)
