When (and if) I have a child, I'm not going to spend my time on the computer. If I had the pain in having it, I'm going to damn well take care of it. If I need to go out, he/she's coming with me. If it's a date with the dad (like I hope it will be if I have one), I'm going to hire a babysitter and make sure that she takes care of it.

How...awful. How can people be so irresponsible? I feel sorry for the poor girl. How can people be so unkind, and mean to forget about their own flesh and blood, but remember a petty little game? :(

Spending a little time on those games while you child is napping is one thing, and I think that's fine. But when you become so engrossed in it you forget that you even have a child... I can't go on without getting all teary-eyed (curse breakdowns...)

People who have kids should be more responsible. There're sacrifices that must be made when there's a small child in the household, even if it's gaming.

I am disgusted. There was another story in '03 or '04, with a woman leaving her daughter (barely ten, I think) for DAYS. For what? GAMBLING. Once again, I am disgusted.

No, the child did not die, because she survived on whatever was inside the house. <_< The mere thought is horrifying.

I remember when I was young, my parents told me to come with them and my sisters somewhere. I refused to go, and they freaked out, even if it was for a few hours, and I would just be reading. They double-locked all the doors, and called every fifteen minutes.

And that was me when I was responsible. They freak out when I'm home alone now (a thirteen-year-old with a fridge and a computer...) and call every thirty minutes.

Now, parents leave their FOUR-MONTH-OLD child all alone. What could happen? Just leaving a baby by itself, and even if it does survive, imagine the trauma - if they can remember the trauma when they're older. What kind of parents are here nowadays? :mad:

I think that if a person can't take care of a child, then some official man should take it away to nicer people. Why have a baby if you're not gonna love it? <_<
