I just make them by scratch ^^;; I use a regular smilie as a base, then draw its facial features/hair in MS Paint. Then I save it as a GIF in Microsoft Gif Animator, making the background transparent. It's not that hard, though. I get used to it ^^

No, I never heard about the characters originally being gay or bi. Not that I have anything against gay people, I don't. (I work in the music business and MANY of my friends are gay!! ^^) I just think that it's funny because there's so many fanfics that are sometimes scary because it's clear that Cloud is not bi (because we aaaallllll know he loves Aerith ;) except for stubborn CloTis)....
