Title: Heart Of Snow, Runic Knight
Description: A Celes Chere Shrine

Wow, I actually initiated a club. XD

Anyways, this is for a club dedicated for Celes Chere, the former Imperial General turned rebel from FFVI.

I first saw her while playing the FFVI emu in my old computer. And she became my favorite character when she drains those magic attacks from Kafka (cause he easily beats up my Terra, Locke and Gau team >.<). It's kind of nice to see her open up to the other characters: especially to Cid and Locke. I now got the PS1 version, and now love this game to death.

Her look is awesome to boot (the Amano one, not her game version ^^)!

Anyways, I know she has her bouts of depression and insecurities and the whole Locke and Terra thing, but I have to say that she is quite a formidable character, who also does her best to let her conscience rule her than blindly following the Empire. As well as her bravery to do her part in the story in the World of Ruin.

And I hope SE do create more girls like her and Terra (sword wielding mages who doesn't wear skimpy clothing)

I'll join as well. I love both Celes and Terra! ^_^

I respect Terra, and hey she is the only female main character of a Final Fantasy game (I'm kind not accepting X-2 to be a FF game), and that's saying a lot. But not to the fangirl level, I'm afraid (though I do admit Esper Terra kicks butt... can you imagine her orphans taunting "Our mommy can beat up ALL your daddies!!!"?).

Anywho, hi, Materia Thief! ^^

Sign me up! I didn't play very far in that game, but I loved Celes all to pieces!
She can fight, use magic and SING! That's enough for Sefie's book

Anyways, I never get to finish VI in the emu. I halted before the team reach the floating land where the three Goddess statues were placed.

In my PS1 game, I got to the World of Ruin for the first time.

I didn't understand, though, the supposed Terra, Locke, Celes love triangle. The more I look into it in the game, the more I realize there is none. Terra wasn't even starting relationship with Locke at all. And the fact she found love in her children pretty much cemented it.

The real love triangle for me was Rachel, Locke and Celes.

Thought I should add that though, because people keep insisting in the Terra/Celes/Locke thing in the Aerith/Tifa/Cloud debate. Really weird...

alas for me...I wouldn't know*Ponders buying the Anthology*

You should, VI is a very good game. It's worth getting it.

Sefie - June 21, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
I didn't like it so much, I preferred 5

Oh man, I have to join this group, Anti-R! :fangirl:

I love Celes. Even though I'm an incurable Terra-fangirl and sometimes the amount of worship Celes gets grates my nerves now and then, I still think she's a brilliant and fascinating character. Once the game really starts to take you into her heart and soul (the Opera scene, the confrontation in the labs, her second betrayal of the Empire on the Floating Continent, and her heart-melting moment on Solitary Island), I really saw what a remarkable and moving character she was. I actually started crying during her suicide attempt - it was such a touching scene, and it really pulled my heartstrings (FFVI is probably the game that got the most tears out of me, actually).

I agree with you that I don't see a massive T/L/C triangle in the game. It isn't explored nearly enough to be canon. The only Locke/Terra going on is mildly hinted at during the start of the game, before he meets Celes, and we later find out that he was so protective of Terra because her amnesia reminded him of Rachel (and because he's such a decent guy). I think Locke's feelings for Rachel were far more important - and affected his relationship with Celes much more than - his feelings for Terra. I always had the feelings that Terra "outgrew" Locke in a way; that she only needed him when she was confused, frightened, alone and childlike but as she became stronger and more independant, she didn't need him as much, and they remained solid friends, wheras the Locke/Celes relationship is much more complicated.

*Now really wants to play*

It didn't help Terra asked Leo about love, and that "she never felt it", considering she was with Locke alone that time...

And then the game really focused more on Locke and Celes. Even in the ending (if you have them both as the party against Kefka).

BTW, hi, Hyper! Welcome! :D

Oh, may I join? Terra never really did much for me, she didn't have much of a personality, (which I understand was entirely Kefka and Gestahl's fault). Anyway, it was fun to watch Celes' character to develop. She started out as some cold, distant soldier but soon started opening up and developing close relationships with Locke, Cid and even Terra. Anyway, I never saw a LockeTerraCeles, or LockeRachelCeles, love triangle while playing. I kind of saw Locke being more of a big brother to Terra, and I saw his relationship with Rachel's to be like Aeris' with Zack. They loved each other but they weren't meant to be. When Locke brings Rachel back she tells him she releases his heart, which I think was pretty clear that she wanted him to move on and be happy, even if that meant finding another girl, (whether that girl was Celes, Terra or anyone else). Anyway, Celes is my favorite Final Fantasy girl and I would love to be a part of this club. :gift:
