Alone here in my darkness,
I search endlessly for the light.

To be with you just one more time,
Or hear your laughter on the wind,
Would be a symphony to my heart,
And let my eternity begin.

To see your sparkling eyes,
Hold your warm hand in mine,
I’d love you for eternity,
If this life would grant me time.

I know that I have failed you,
And ask for just one thing,
If you’d grant this weary soldier
A chance to mend your broken wing.

I’d take you in my arms,
And cradle your warm skin,
I’d tell you all I should have,
You’d free me of my sins.

And even though we’re apart,
Remember this to be true,
I love you for forever,
Forever, forever, I do.

And until the time I see you,
Until we’re together once more,
I’ll think of you, and miss you,
Each time the ocean meets the shore.

This was such a sweet piece, CG! I loved the rhythm of it, and the idea of Aerith cleansing Cloud of his sins is such a beautiful image. Great job on this, hon! :)
