Maybe because I'm just a hopeless romantic, but I do believe Cloud and Aeris will kiss in this movie... I have to believe it, or I'll go crazy. :D I don't know why, but I always picture it happening in that field of flowers. Maybe because it's somewhere secluded for them. However, I don't think Cloud will kiss Aeris, I think she's going to kiss him! I can just picture it:
They're standing back to back, Aeris reaches her hand out to his arm, and they turn around and come face to face. Cloud can't look her in the eye, and all the while, Aeris has on a beautiful smile. She'll place both of her hands under his chin, and raise his face to hers. A single tear will escape Cloud's eye and splash against Aeris's hands. She'll circle her arms around his neck, and kiss him sweetly. :P Eeee oh it's gonna be so romantic...

Although every loyal and devoted CloudxAerith fan would love to see them kiss (believe me, I do too), I think it would be a bit cliché if they kiss in the movie... it's just like seeing Tidus and Yuna all over again. But anyway, maybe if they would kiss, they could make the kiss original/unique, something that's not yet seen from other FF movies (like the SquallxRinoa and the TidusxYuna kisses)... or maybe before their lips could meet, the scene could fade out but enough for the audience to understand that they're really going to kiss.

I really hated the Tidus/Yuna kiss, it had no... umph. it was romantic and all, but it did nothing for me.

Cloud and Aeris, with all their angst, history, and lonliness, and pining for one another is gonna light up the screen like a christmas tree when their lips meet.

It will also have a lot more feeling and impact on people if they got the right music during the scene. Like what Aerith's Theme did for her death scene. Made grown men cry. :P

YES! It made my boyfriend (who continues to deny it to this day) get misty eyed. He's not really into FF, he's more into action games (like grand theft auto) but he's excited about AC!
Yeah, they have to have just the right music, I think Aeris's theme would be perfect, it would mean so much. Oldie but goodie.

Okay, I gotta share a story! My highschool choir teacher was more piano player than singer, so we printed out the sheet music for Aeris' theme and got her to play it. Now, Kimo(big, tough Samoan guy) was sitting behind us. This guy considers himself to be super tough, and he laughed when Ms. B(the teacher) started playing. However, halfway through the song I hear sniffling, and I turn around and he's doing the super model face fan and sniffling. Kimo-"cut down in the prime of her life..it's just not fair!"

Kiss between Aerith and Cloud in AC...hmm. I can see it almost happening in a dream or something but then Cloud wakes up. I'm sure they want to torment Cloud bit longer and a kiss between him and Aerith would pretty much set him free of all that pain and sadness. At least that's what I believe. But of course if they do not plan to continue the story after AC, then it is more than likely that they will kiss at the very end of AC so we will have our typical romantic ending that I unfortunately dislike. <_<

Then the two of them get all misty eyed and she comes up with more and more reasons why they should just leave everything as it is but in the end Cloud shuts her up and kisses her anyway!

When I first heard Aerith's theme was during the death scene.
The tears were practically raining out of my eyes. It went with the scene so well.
I'm currently trying to play that song on the piano, but need more practice :P .

I, too, really hope that there would be atleast one kiss scene between them, even though I agree that it may be a bit cliche'. But at least it will show all the CloudxTifa fans whom Cloud really loves.

I see what Marionette's saying, too, and the subtle hints of affection are very touching. However, we will never have conclusive evidence that Cloud and Aerith are in love without a kiss or an "I love you". Since Square gave that to Squall and Rinoa as well as to Tidus and Yuna, I'd love to see it happen between Cloud and Aerith, too.

50/50 chance. The reason I think this is because Advent Children is both a sequel and a film. What two Square products do we know of that fit film and fit sequel? Spirits Within fits film. X-2 fits sequel. Spirits Within had a kissing scene, as did X. So that's a strong indication that Advent Children will have a kissing scene. On the other hand, X was more direct in comparison with VII. VII has always been vague and indirect, even in side-games. And Spirits Within cost Square a fortune. So I imagine while they may take risks, they may want to leave things ambiguous again.

How bout this:

Cloud has another vision of the flower field. He's tired of fighting, tired of living...

"Don't give up. They need you..."
It was her sweet and gentle voice.
"I can't...I can't keep on anymore..."
"But you already came this far! Don't give up living, Cloud, don't lose hope..."
He tries to look back but he's afraid it's just a dream and she's not really there.

The camera focus on his face

He looks up to prevent tears from falling. He knows she won't be back. She'll never be at his side, smiling and laughing once again.

But suddendly a warmth is felt around his waist. It's her, she's embracing him. It feels so real...

"I'm always with you...the ground you're standing on, the wind that's around you... I'll never leave you..."
"But you did, Aeris, and...it was all my fault..."
Tears fall down on his face.
"I love you..."

He wasn't feeling her arms around him anymore. And, against all he's own will, he looked back. She was gone. Sad and kind of feeling ashamed of his confession, he turned his face forward.
She was standing in front of him.
Her green eyes shined gently towards him. Her pretty and joyful face made him missing her even more. He looked away from her as if it was hard to be there, face to face, after so much time. His guilt was to big, but...was it bigger than his love?

"Cloud,...don't feel guilty. I'll never blame you for my-"
"But I will."
"Why? Because you love me?"
"..."
"People never blame the ones they love. It wasn't your fault, and even if it were, I would never blame you, anyway..."
His heart rushed at the meaning of her words and he looked at her, feeling a little lost.
She smiled. A soft and pure smile, so sweet and kind it made Cloud forget his dark feelings, like guilt and sorrow. Aeris' smile always made him feel happier, and this time it was no exception.
"Aeris..."
"But now..."
Her joy almost disappered.
"You don't want to keep fighting...to keep living...I don't want to see you doing nothing for the planet! For the children! For...for yourself!"
"But how can I keep on living when you are...g-gone...!"
She got near him and touched his face with a warm and soft hand.
"Please don't give up your life...I love you Cloud..."
For the first time in two years his blue eyes shined with happiness and nice feelings, and he held her hand.
"But, if you love me too, why don't you want me to be with you? Together...for ever...when i return to the planet-"
"But how are you going to return to the planet, if there isn't one to live or die in?"
"What?"
"If people are dying, so is the planet...and if it dies, we'll never be together..."
The truth about the cicle of life came with a great impact in Cloud's mind.
You mean...I won't be able to be with you?
"Please save the planet once again, Cloud...for us?"
Without thinking he hugged her tightly.
"I can't lose you again...I won't lose you again!"
They looked at each other.
They were so close...
The moment of love they both most hoped for came at last.
A kiss in a flower field.
"I promise I'll save this world...and the people living in it."
"Thank you Cloud"
They both smiled and a very intense bliding light made him close his eyes and releasing her to cover his face.
When he opened them again he was lying on a flower field...in Aeris's Church.
