I think an ending where Cloud dies and meets with Aerith would be far more memorable than Cloud riding off into the sunset on Fenrir to "find himself" or whatever. Many people want him to become happy after finding forgiveness, but I don't think that finding happiness would happen immediately for Cloud. He's got too much else to work through.

I do think that happiness for Cloud is possible through finding Aerith, though! Death to Cloud! :cleris:

AC is 'Cloud's story', so what way to end his story perfectly, than finally forgiving himself and truely finding his peace. Plus, I think Cloud's death is the only way AC can counter Aeris's death in VII and make this movie truely unforgetable. Oh, and there is the Clorith thing, of course. :cleris:

I'd like to see Cloud settle all his personal issues before he dies, though. I wouldn't want his death to be his "escape from life" or something---that would be too depressing! More than anything, I'd like to see him die in a sacrifice of some sort, in a "blaze of glory", so that even in his death, he would resonate life. Yes, I'm being dramatic :lol:
I know a lot of us feel that Cloud's death would ruin his chance at ever finding happiness in life, but think of it this way: the guy's "dream" is to meet Aerith again in the Promised Land. Sounds to me like he'll be willing to go through death to find happiness, because attaining your dream is equivalent to finding happiness, right?
I'll pass on the shovels, though. I'd rather lay him to rest in the Forgotten Capital :cloud:

What would be interesting is if they discovered that by destroying Jenova/Sephiroth that all of those with Geostigma had to die as well. Then comes the choice of if they should do it. They decide it must be done or all will be doomed by Jenova/Sephiroth and so we have some sort of scene where Aerith welcomes the children into the Promised Land and then after that she looks over to Cloud with a smile and he hesitates a moment. He looks down a moment unsure that he has redeemed himself in her eyes yet. Aerith would then bend over and look into his eyes the way they did in Kingdom Hearts. Cloud would then realize she really has never blamed him and we'd see his first smile. From that point I'm not sure what I want to happen, but I want it to be clear that they're together and the children are happy that they no loger have to suffer.

Or perhaps the children are spared by Cloud sacrificing himself. I really don't know a lot about AC so I'm only starting to speculate. I do think that Cloud dying would make a beautiful ending.

Mmm... I think after the battle with Sephiroth, he will walk out, seriously wounded, but alive. But, in order to rid the world of Geostigma, he has to do something, that implies giving his life. That something, should be an action that touches every one of us, so that his death would have an impact as Aerith's, his death should have a touching theme as well.

He may have to use Holy, or have destroy JENOVA in the Lifestream, actions that would take life out of him. And at the end, we see Aerith, taking him to the Promised Land. :cleris: :fanboy:
