Title: Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Description: she saved the world... a lot.

Yukari - May 22, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
I know there are a few Buffy fans here, so I thought I'd make a topic where we could chat about it a little more in-depth. ^_^

Okay, for starters, we'll go with the easy stuff. Which characters are your favourites?

For me, it's all about Oz. I <3 him so, and he had some of the best lines ever. I think it was his little speech in 'Innocence' that won me over - you know, when Willow asks him if he wants to kiss her?

Oz: Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage. Oh, I'm not going to kiss you.
Willow: What? But... freeze frame!
Oz: Well, to the casual observer, it would appear that you're trying to make your friend Xander jealous, or even the score, or something. And that's on the empty side. See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you, you're kissing me. It's okay, I can wait.

I cried so much over the episode where he left after the whole female werewolf thing. I did warm to Willow/Tara after a while, but Willow/Oz is still my favourite BtVS pairing ever.

I liked Cordelia too, her little swipes at Xander during series two were priceless. Actually, everything about the Xander/Cordelia relationship was priceless. :lmao:

Also, Giles rocks. Especially in the episodes where we learn more about his past. And 'Band Candy'. "Ooh, copper's got a gun." Heh.

Onto episodes, my favourite series is the second one, so a lot of those eps pop up in my favourites list.

When She Was Bad - Because of Cibo Matto, and Cordelia's line about Buffy's 'Joan Collins 'tude'.
School Hard - Spike and Dru's first appearance, and how Spike deals with the Annoying Anointed One.
Passion - :sniffle:
Becoming (1 and 2) - The end of the final ep was heartbreaking, even if now I can look back at the special effects and shake my head in embarrassment. And what happened to Kendra really shocked me. I was waiting for her to get up and dust herself off.
Band Candy - Adults acting like teenagers makes for a highly amusing episode.
This Year's Girl/Who Are You - Good to see Faith back, even if she was in the wrong body.
The Body - What can I really say?
The Gift - Another episode that made me cry.
Once More With Feeling - I like musicals. Leave me alone.
Normal Again - This was an ambiguous ep that really made me think.

How about you? What eps stuck in your mind or made you go 'wow'?

Hyper-Ballad - May 22, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
Ah, about time we had a thread for this! Thanks, Madame! ^_^

I've been a fan of BtVS since the series first kicked-off in '97...though I do kind-of wish it had ended with Season Three. It would've been a perfect ending ("Guys. Take a moment to deal with all this. We survived." "It was a hell of a battle." "Not the battle. High school."). I think that after that point, even though it still had great moments, it was pretty much downward slide (I think Buffy's character in particular suffered from dragging the show on for too long). It's always best to end a show with the fans wanting more, and with BtVS I think it got to the point where it simply had to end because it'd run itself into the ground.

Anyway, it's still a really enjoyable show: great characters, great villains, great storylines... :fangirl:

It's really difficult for choose a favourite character, because they've all had their moments... I love them all, I really do. Buffy is quite a difficult character for me to pin, because I thought she was great during the earlier series', but I found myself disliking her more and more from Season Four onwards. Willow and Xander were great during the early serires', Cordeila was priceless, Oz was so cool and loveable. I love Giles beyond words. He rocks. Sadly, I started to really like Tara during Season Six, she was developing wonderfully...and then of course, Seeing Red happened.

As for villains, Drusilla and Evil!Spike rocked my world (as did Angelus), and I thought Faith and the Mayor were a great team.

My most hated character would have to be Riley, but I think just about everyone agrees with me on this one.

And favourite episodes:

School Hard - Our first meeting with Spike and Dru! Joyce was fantastic in this one as well.
Lie to Me - I found this one very moving. We find out the gory details of Angel's past with Drusilla, Buffy and Billy's situation, and the dialogue between Buffy and Giles at the end was fantastic. And Spike's reaction to Buffy holding Dru hostage melted my heart. SxD forever, man.
What's My Line, Part I & II - Excellent two episodes, very thrilling. So much going on! And the ending was fantastic.
Surprise/Innocence - Brilliant, thrilling, heartbreaking episodes.
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered - This was hilarious all the way through (poor irresistable Xander!). Xander's interactions with Cordelia were great. :lmao:
Passion - I cried! Poor Jenny! Poor Giles!
Becoming, Part I & II - How is it possible for me to be shocked and saddened by Kendra's death and at the same time love Drusilla for the cool way she managed to do it? These episodes were a wonderful climax to the series - Kendra's death, Buffy and Spike's uneasy alliance, Xander's reaction to Willow's injuries (and the lovely Willow/Oz moment after!), Drusilla's method of getting Giles to talk (sniffle), and of course the tragic outcome for Buffy and Angel, and Buffy subsequently leaving Sunnydale. These two episodes were fantastic, and really pulled at my heartstrings. I love them.
Band Candy - Fantastic, for all the reasons Madame already mentioned. Giles rocks, and Snyder was priceless. :lmao:
Lovers Walk - Brilliant ending! "I'm gonna do what I should've done in the first place. I'll find her, wherever she is, tie her up, and torture her until she likes me again."
The Wish - Oh this is just amazing. Such a dark glimpse into an alternate Sunnydale. Xander and Willow as vampires...amazing stuff. Also, our first meeting with Anya. A brilliant episode.
Helpless - I loved this. I love Buffy and Giles' father-daughter relationship.
Bad Girls - Faith = teh_c00lness.
Graduation Day, Part I & II - Another fantastic climax. From the adorable stuff like Willow and Oz's first time together to Buffy's race against time to save Angel, her face-off with Faith, the whole build-up to the Ascension...these episodes were wonderful.
Something Blue - The Oz/Willow breakup upset me...but this episode was so funny! As much as I dislike the Spike/Buffy relationship; the idea of them getting married in this was absolutely brilliant. I was laughing all through their interactions! :lmao:
Hush - This creeped me out. The Gentlemen were such chilling villains.
Tough Love - I really loved Tara's bravery in this, and I loved the Tara/Willow relationship.
The Gift - I cried again!
Once More, With Feeling - Brilliant. 'Nuff said.
Normal Again - Madame; you said it all. This really made me think, and the possibility disturbed me quite a bit.
Seeing Red - Villains - Two to Go/Grave - These four episodes make another amazing series-climax! Tara's tragic death really moved me, and I absolutely loved the Evil!Willow arc, when she fully embraces the dark side. Warren's not the sort of guy I was sorry to see go, but I still winced through his death scene. The fight between Willow and Giles was wonderful as well, and Giles' return at the end of Two to Go nearly reduced me to fangirlish cheers. These were such powerful, dramatic and emotional episodes, and I loved how it ended, and how it was all up to "useless" Xander to save the world, and his interaction with Willow at the end got me all teary... Wonderful episodes.

Phew. I'm all out of steam now. ^_^

Yukari - May 23, 2005 04:09 PM (GMT)
I agree about when the show should have ended, Hyper - there were some great episodes further on in the series (I can't believe I forgot about Hush!) but because of how long it went on, round about the beginning of series six it didn't leave me impatient for next week's episode, but rather wondering how much longer they were planning on milking it. Also, after series three, my favourite characters all left, Oz, Cordy, and Angel, so the eps I were really, really looking forward to in the later series' were ones where they guest starred.

QUOTE
It would've been a perfect ending ("Guys. Take a moment to deal with all this. We survived." "It was a hell of a battle." "Not the battle. High school.").

That would have been fantastic. :D

And I'm with you on the Riley hating. He was such a bland, boring character.

With Buffy herself, I think it was how she could be so hypocritical sometimes that annoyed me. Don't get me wrong, I think she's great, but in Selfless she irritated me - Willow and Spike can kill people and she doesn't feel obligated to kill them as part of her Slayer duties, but it's somehow different with Anya? Also, the way she acted towards Faith in the last few episodes was annoying too. Faith tried to apologise about what she'd done to her, but she wouldn't accept it.

Those were the only instances that she really got on my nerves though, the rest of the time I saved my dislike for Dawn.

Kusari Yarou - May 23, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
Yes, I definitely agree with you guys about seasons 1 to 3! They still had the best "Scooby Gang", in my humble opinion. And as the series progressed, I found myself detaching further and further from it. First there was that wuss, Riley. Then in season five onwards, I watchied in horror as an abomination by the name of Dawn joined the Scooby Gang. Gawd, I hated, hated, hated Dawn!!!!! She was the reason why I stopped looking forward to BtVS!

Erm, but we're currently talking about characters we like right now :D Buffy was a good heroine, true she could be unbearable sometimes but with the kind of life she leads, I can't say I blame her. Angel was your basic "vampire with a tortured soul" but I liked him and he's still the guy I like Buffy best with. I always had soft spots in my heart for Xander and Willow. Same was true for Giles who made me smile with his little British mannerisms everytime. Cordelia was hilarious! I liked what the writers did, making her blossom into a bitchy-but-likeable character instead of your basic snotty popular girl. I gotta admit, though, that I absolutely adored OZ! He rocked!

My fave episodes:
School Hard- Spike and Dru!!! One of the coolest evil couples ever!
Halloween- Buffy swooning and Xander being all bravado was classic!
Phases- mostly because of my love for Oz, and also the Willow/Oz moments. I loved that couple!
Band Candy- one word: LOL!
Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered- still can't believe Joyce bought Cordelia's story about the scavenger hunt
Passion- a very emotional episode
Becoming 1/2- Awesome. Angel:"You're going to hell" Buffy:"Save me a seat" :woot:
Homecoming- everybody looked great in their outfits and the concept of 2 girls fighting over the Prom Queen crown was turned upside down
The Wish- kind of like fanfic turned into an episode! An embittered Buffy, Giles and his 'white hats', and Xander and Willow as- gasp!- vampires!
The Zeppo- my favorite Xander centric episode "Did I mention I'm having a very strange night?"
Earshot- this was brilliant! The red herrings to the mystery were great, but the thought sequences of the Scooby Gang were priceless! I loved Oz's zen sequence, and also Xander thinking of nothing but sex, much to Buffy's indignance
The Prom- bittersweet and touching. Xander making an uncharacteristically sweet gesture for Cordy, and Angel showing up just in time for one last dance with Buffy, even though they just broke up.
Graduation Day 1/2-

Love that quote. Oz, right? I was amused to see Willow getting impatient and muttering "ascend already!" as the Mayor made his dull speech. And it was a real "yeah!" moment to see the Sunnydale teens finally take action and defend their school.

The later seasons had some particularly good episodes, but I never looked forward to them like I did with the first three. Some of the stuff I loved about the series just left with Angel, Cordy, and Oz, and a lot of stuff I disliked started taking up a whole lot of space(coughDawncough) <_<

Hyper-Ballad - May 26, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
I've not met a single BtVS fan who liked Riley yet. And I hope I never will.

I'm glad you guys agree with me about series 1-3! I think what I like the most about those series' is how tight-knit the original Scoobie gang are. Watching the later shows, you can hardly tell that Buffy, Willow and Xander used to be best friends. -_-

I liked Buffy as a character very much throughout series 1-3 (despite being more than a little annoyed with how quickly she gave up on Faith), because I found her a likeable and endearing character, who clearly wasn't perfect. The problem I have with her characterization later on is that it seems to me that the creators were trying to make her perfect and heroic (whilst at the same time deeply troubled and angsty), which made her come off very badly as a result. In the earlier shows, she's just a normal girl who happens to have this burden of duty and incredible superpowers, whilst in the later shows she's portrayed as OMG TEH BEAUTIFUL AND TRAGIC HERO!!! It killed off her humanity as a character. She became extremely self-righteous, dull, irritating, whiny and hypocritical. Anytime I felt sympathy for her, her attitude would kill off what I felt really quickly. And you're very right about her hypocritical attitude, Madame - another example is when Xander is responsible for Once More, With Feeling. As funny as it was, a lot of people ended up dancing themselves to death, but is Xander in need of slayage? Hell, no. He's not even made to feel responsible, wheras Willow accidentally injures Dawn's arm after tripping too much on magic and she never hears the end of it... <_<

And then there's Dawn...but I'm not going to go into that. :D

Kusari Yarou - May 27, 2005 01:00 PM (GMT)
Okay, then let me rant about Dawn. I disliked her intensely, first and foremost because of her attitude...but also because when she appeared, a certain part of the series died! Everyone was made to think that she's been there since the beginning. Gone were everyone's memories of what things were like before she came along. And my dislike of Dawn made me completely unsympathetic of Buffy's protectiveness of her. I know in certain parts, I was supposed to fear for her life and wonder what would become of her but...I just couldn't bring myself to care one iota <_<

BTW has anyone here read any BtVS novels?

aerisbolt - June 30, 2006 10:13 PM (GMT)
OH MY there are Buffy lovers here too!!!! :fangirl: This place just continues to get better and better!

I hope it is okay responding to old threads  ... I apologize if no one wants me bringing already talked about subjects but I had to respond to this one.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favorite show of all time and I could talk about it for hours...well maybe not hours but for those who have seen me post know I can write alot  Anyhow I just wanted to say that I love this show too and many of the episodes are pure genius.

If anyone is still interested in talking about this let me know!

Key - June 30, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
The above posts are so long that mine won't even begin to compare (I'm a girl of few words). XD

Anyway, I loooove Buffy. Lurve it, even. So much so that I own all the seasons on DVD.

The beginning seasons were the best, of course.<3 Favorite character was Spike tho, without a chip or with a chip. So bloody hilarious narf. I agree that the last few seasons seemed draggy at times. Season 6 had many annoying episodes, IMO. I didn't catch all of them because they really rubbed me the wrong way. That one episode where Riley comes back? Ugh, wth was that dreck. >>;

One thing I didn't like was the Willow x Kennedy romance. I just dislike Kennedy, period. Tara I loved and Oz I super-loved. They complimented Willow so well and both made a perfect pair with her but Kennedy? Talk about forced, blech. Apparently, Willow's next beau was to have been a boy but the producers were afraid that people would just say they were being flakes. Also, it was a toss-up between making Xander gay or Willow lesbian. Guess we all know which they chose. XD~~

Imaginary__girl - July 1, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Wow! How did I miss this thread?? Anyways, Buffy is my favorite show ever. I own all the seasons on DVD, two shirts, and three books. I'm obsessed. And I agree Key, the early seasons were the best. <3. You could show me a still from an episode and I can tell you what season its from. XD

Anyways, my favorite character is Anya. She was hilarious! Her fear of bunnies was just priceless. Like when she finds the stuffed bunny in the basement of the Magic Box before the big faceoff with Glory:

"WHO WOULD PUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS HERE??"
*picks up stuffed bunny*
"Oh my God. This is an omen. Its an omen trying to tell me that we're all going to die through bunnies, oh my God."

^or something to that effect ^_^

I also liked Spike. Funny, loving, and gorgeous

My all time favorite pairing was Buffy/Angel. I loved them. Angel was such a sweetie. Even when he turned evil and was all bent on destroying the world, I still loved him. Him and Buffy were so cute! :fangirl:

And for my least favorite, I'd have to agree with Key:WillowxKennedy. BLEH! WillowxTara was just too perfect to be replaced with some stand-in. I think for season 7, they should've kept Willow single.

My favorite episodes are:

The pack: The one where Xander is possessed by a hyeana(sp?). It makes me laugh (except when those bully kids eat Principal Flutie...that was gross)
Surprise:Angel turns evil. Yesh, and we all know how don't we? ;) No but, definetly one of my favroite Buffy/Angel episodes.
The Wish:I loved the alternate version of Sunnydale. This is one of Anya's first appearences, no? But great episode! And vamp Willow and Xander were awesome.
Graduation Day part 1 and 2: Just very awesome episodes. I happened to like the Mayor. He made me laugh at times. And the relationship between him and Faith is cute. Sad that it had to end that way But awesome episodes none the less.
The Freshman:Funny episode. Its the one where Buffy is all paranoid about her new roomate in college being a demon.
Hush:This episode gave me serious chills. But I liked it.
The Body:The writing for that episode was brilliant. Thats one of the things i love about Buffy, its just written so well. I also liked how they didn't use any music in that episode. It gave it a nice touch.
The Gift:This one makes me cry everytime!
Once More with Feeling:I liked the different approach with this one. Who would of thought Buffy would go musical one day?
Villians/Two to Go/Grave:These episodes were definetly sad, but also kind of suspensul. And gross at parts(remember Warren being turned insideout?...bleh! Even though he totally deserved it <_<) I loved the end of season six, I couldn't have gone with a better season finale. Especially Grave when Xander saved the day by saying those three words to Willow before she destroyed the world. That makes me cry so hard!

Well, thats my say on Buffy! I miss it...

aerisbolt - July 1, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
Amazing stuff Imaginary Girl. I also am a huge fan of the Angel/Buffy pairing. I always thought he fit with her the best. That is not to say that I didn't love Spike...so sexy

I am with you on some of your favorite episodes I really enjoyed the whole Angel evil story arc and I still feel Angel was the best villian because of his and Buffy's relationship.

Hush, the Body, and Once More with Feeling are still some of the best television I have ever watched.

I might be one of the few people who didn't hate Riley and when Faith and Buffy switch bodies..love that episode

I would probably have to choose Oz as my favorite "secondary" character and that always was a factor of not totally warming up to her and Tara, only because I felt he and Willow had such amazing chemistry. Plus he was just a really great character.

Probably the only character I wish they never had brought in was Dawn. I can't believe Joss Whedon did the whole annoying younger sister routine, yeah there was a catch to her but Buffy and her's relationship has been done a zillion times.

I feel he could have made her a cool character, one that we could root for and set a new bar with a yournger sibiling, but instead I jsut kept praying she would fall victim to her untimely death fighting the good fight...but no Joss never gave me that or my technical happy ending with Buffy and Angel

However these are just a few glitches in a show that I looked forward to every week and still miss even today ^_^

nyrin - July 6, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
I was totally in love with the show for the first three seasons. It made me believe that t.v. can be original again (it was especially great seeing a sci-fi/fantasy show that also had the high school romance fluff I love so much). The first three seasons were killer. After that the show went down hill. Too many changes that just didn't stick with me (and I'll forever resent the actor who plays Oz for leaving the show cuz he and Willow were a great couple).

I always loved the show's theme of girl power, but I always felt that even though girls had a role, guys played an important role as well (for example, the series best and scariest villain was a guy - Angelus. God I love that evil psycho). But by the end of the series, it got so girl powery that even the guys were reduced to trivial and silly roles. Xander hardly did anything but lose and eye. Spike, who was supposed to be all bad ass, was reduced to Buffy's puppy dog play thing (interestingly enough, as soon as he left the show to go to Angel he got his coolness back - except for the third last episode of Angel concerning Buffy. Then he magically became a little bitch again. See a pattern here?). Even Giles was verbally backhanded by Buffy who decided she didn't need him anymore. Let's not even talk about Andrew.

I especially hate Caleb, the right hand man of the First Evil in the last season. He hates women, calls them dirty bitches, slaps them around, blah blah blah. Seriously, how more blatant can they be? It's like Whedon was trying to shove a 'MEN ARE TEH EBIL!!!' sign in our faces, and I seriously wasn't buying it. Plus the final twist in the series left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Highlight for spoilers: All the potential Slayers in the world became Slayers. So now you have a whole lot of super powered girls running around the world. How is that fair? What, guys aren't allowed to be super powerful? And what about us girls who aren't chosen? We just have to sit back while other girls get to be super heroes? What, are we not girly enough to be Slayers? Plus the whole thing is just stupid. I mean, you've got so many super powered beings in the world - what the hell is stopping them from deciding "You know what? Let's just f***ing take over the world."? I guess since it's Joss Whedon, who's known to have a thing for super powered little girls (see Serenity and read the new X-men comics), I shouldn't be surprised.

Angel just seemed to be a more mature story. It had relevant male AND female characters, and it didn't beat people over the head with such an obvious messages. I enjoyed watching it a lot more than I enjoyed watching seasons 4 to 7 of Buffy. I just wish it wasn't cancelled the way it was :(

Angelalex242 - July 9, 2006 09:51 AM (GMT)
Ah, my Beloved Buffy.

First, on the triangle...the genders are reversed, but...

Buffy=Cloud
Angel=Aerith
Spike=Tifa

The Spuffy arguments resemble CloTi arguments so much it's not funny.

As for the rest of the Show. Angel was tragic, yes, but he didn't sit on his ass just because of it. Angel was the last male to ever have respect on Buffy. He had so much of it that he had to get his own show to keep it.

Spike lost every bit of self respect he ever had in Buffy, only to regain it on Angel. His Grandsire, however hated, is good for him as a character.

In general, Angel's show seemed to empower people. Buffy's show seemed to tear people down. Spike, again, being the most visible example.

Angel, on the other hand, is so powerful he doesn't get torn down by Buffy. He can match her. And that's really necessary for Buffy. It really is.

Oh my, I never thought about it but what a good point, and again I was always for the original couple, though I loved Spike (before the Buffy relationship)and did love him on Angel. He and David B had some great chemistry. I always wanted Spike to find someone that worked with him and actually loved him and they never gave that.

In many ways I think the same way about Tifa, that shefind a person who will love her the way she wants to be loved. Even though I think Cloud does care about Tifa more than Buffy did about Spike in my opinion. But great points Angelex242!

I also see what everyone was saying about Buffy getting into a knocking down guys theme, even thought I could go on and on about my issues with the Angel show....

*bumps thread* :D

*luffs all over this thread*

By the way, my favorite character in this show is Faith. I adore her she's so wonderfully broken and tries to act badass about it when all she wanted was for Buffy to love her. I loved her progression throught the series the most, seeing her truly become a responsible Slayer.

@nyrin: I loved the final twist. Why shouldn't all the girls who had potential be what they truly are? And being a Slayer isn't something you can catch, you either have the power in you or you don't, why not use it for good. It's a lot better than having one poor sorry girl called to duty as a Slayer then die before she hits 20 (Buffy and Faith are the oldest Slayers). It's not to say other girls can't be special, or even guys. They make a point in the series of singling out Xander and Dawn, being the two who have no powers, yet explaining to the audience they aren't simply dead weight because they aren't "special".

I don't know if you know there IS another season of Buffy done as a comic book series, and that exact question is asked. Someone has come to destroy the Slayers, fearing they will take advantage of that power and abuse it.

OMG YES. :woot: She's such a tragic character and is probably the most consinstently written one too.
I LOVE when Wes and her are finally able to work as a true slayer watcher team.<3

Hee. The other characters kind of went downward. Especially Buffy, who used to be my favorite and I just kind of didn't like where she went, although I did understand why she did what she did. But Faith's always been one of (if not the most) well written character on the show imo.

Buffy...really went downhill after season 3.

Not the show...the character.

In season 6...she loses ALL of her self respect. All of it. Ya know why I call Spike the Tifa analogue?

Because...for all the dirty nasty stuff Buffy and Spike do...it doesn't lift either one of them up. It drags them both down. And makes them feel still worse.

So whats everyones favourite season? Mine would defintely have to be 3. :D

Yay for this thread coming back up..again :D To answer the question on favorite season for me it is season two due to the Angel becoming evil storyline.

I hope I am not repeating myself, I don't remember everything I have said in this tread.

Anyhow I am happy that the fandom does well to keep Buffy alive, that next season Zelda was talking about sounds interesting, I just wonder if they were able to bring Joss Whedon's great humor into it. I would check out pretty much anything he is involved in. I hope he comes out with a project soon, after Wonderwoman fell through I haven't heard a word on what he is working on.

In season 6...she loses ALL of her self respect. All of it. Ya know why I call Spike the Tifa analogue?

Because...for all the dirty nasty stuff Buffy and Spike do...it doesn't lift either one of them up. It drags them both down. And makes them feel still worse.

Totally 100% with you on that. Season 3 was my favorite season. After that, Buffy kind of lost her signature spunk. Not to mention, Spuffy was icky imo. >.< The only thing the Spuffy [Buffy & Spike] managed to do was make Buffy feel horrible about herself, and most likely Spike as well. I mean looking from Spike's POV in the whole relationship, I kind of felt sorry for the guy. I mean, he loved this girl with a passion, and in the end he finds out she was only using him "to feel". Harsh. That kind of made me angry at Buffy, but at the same time I understand why she did it.

On a side note, I got 6 of the Buffy Season 8 comic books for my birthday! They are pretty amazing, with some breath taking artwork (especially the covers) to go along with it. I'm hoping to order (and pre-order in some cases) the other books after #6.
