I've seen a few of you asking why Cloud would be carrying Kadaj, so I thought I'd start a topic on it. I can think of several reasons...

Kadaj is essentially Cloud's brother, since they're both Sephiroth clones and both have Jenova cells. The SHM even call Cloud "brother". I can see Cloud pitying Kadaj, especially if Kadaj were injured by Geostigma, Jenova, or Sephiroth.

If Kadaj suddenly comes down with Geostigma, then he's in the same boat as Cloud. If Jenova and/or Sephiroth suddenly turn against the SHM for some reason, then the SHM got manipulated like Cloud did in FFVII.

Either that, or they fall in love with one another. :wub: j/k, j/k... :lol: Any other thoughts?

That's how I see it too. That or Cloud could have just defeated him in battle and saw that he is just another "puppet". I can easily see pity as something Cloud would be feeling. He'd want to give Kadaj another chance.

Yup. It looks to me ... well, actually looks like some yaoi fangirl's fantasy ( :lol: ) but APART from that, it does look like Kadaj was injured and Cloud is trying to help him out of pity or sympathy.

If not ... well, so much for Cloud being uke!! :rolleyes:

I think Cloud has one of his weak moments again after battling Kadaj and defeating him, he feels sorry for him and somehow thinks Kadaj is more like him than he thought before and so he decides to help him. But then I also think we'll see Kadaj backstabbing Cloud...

But Cloud can still be uke! Carrying someone doesn't mean anything...he will forever be uke in my dreams, at least when Aerith gets her hands on him again and puts him in his Wall Market dress of old times sake. ^_^

I agree with the whole sympathy thing. Either that or in a great attempt at a plot twist, Sephy kills Kadaj. :lol:

I think Cloud can make a living out of carrying unconscious people. Puts a whole new light on the "transporter" business. :P Kadaj is what, the third person we've seen Cloud carry in AC? Well at least the only person seen with her head resting on his shoulder is Aerith. So far.

My thoughts on Cloud carrying Kadaj are essentially the same as Aly.
Cloud felt pity for Kadaj, his "brother". In Cloud's eyes, Kadaj is prolly just a kid who is misguided.

I highly doubt Kadaj is dead being that..well..can dead people still grip katanas??? XDD Maybe Kadaj is just unconsious or something...XD I highly doubt he's dead. He's too much of a popular character already to be dead before we see the movie! :woot:

Another possibility - what if Cloud gets controlled by Jenova again? Is this scene sorta like Cloud giving the black materia to Sephiroth? Jenova and/or Sephiroth want Kadaj saved, so they use Cloud to do it? Hmmm...

That's a very creative suggestion, Aly! I think that'd be really interesting to see in the film, and I'd die to see how it'd all work out... I much prefer this sort of explanation to the "brother" possibility, because that just reeks far too much off FFIX - not that I dislike that aspect of IX at all (the opposite, in fact!), but I'd hate to see that dynamic rehashed for AC - originality please, SE! :whistle:

But this is also what I was wondering...you know how the kids that have geostigma are also being controled by Kadaj and them? Well..if Cloud has geostigma..doens't that make him just as much vunerable? (I think I spelled it right. xD)

I wonder if there isn't more of a connection between Cloud and Kadaj (or Cloud and the SHM in general) than what it appears. Maybe Kadaj is a Jenovah injected clone of Cloud? A long lost brother? Who knows, there are all sorts of possibilities for interesting "twist" connections here... but it seems to me that the SHM may end up being more sympathetic characters in this story. Misguided clones who don't know any better? Anyway, this pic is very interesting... this, alone, has renewed my interest in this movie.

Maybe that scene really is nothing at all and SE just put it in to get all the yaoi fangirls goggle-eyed.

I'm thinking along the same lines of everybody's 'sympathetic Cloud' theory. Perhaps he defeats the poor, misguided kid (which is how he'll see Kadaj) in battle and carries him as he's wounded. Maybe he won't feel sympathy for the SHM because they are 'brothers' but because they are unaware that they are also puppets like he was in FF7.
And I don't think there will be any 'long-lost brothers' dynamic. 'Clone' brothers, but not really blood brothers.

Nah, that's not quite what I meant :P I was thinking along the lines of "aha... the plot thickens" kind of way. I'm not necessarily sold on any "Kadaj is Cloud's brother" type of revelation either - I was just throwing ideas around, so to speak. Either way... September has never felt so far away! doh! >_<

Seriously though, remember you're dealing with the guy who didn't know what "gomp" meant either ;) I assume "yaoi" has something to do with favoring same-sex character coupling, but I just wanted to make sure I fully understood the implications... lol
