New Series of Videogame Concerts Announced
05.05.05 - 9:59 PM

Tommy Tallarico and Clear Channel Music Group have announced Video Games Live, a series of game music-themed concerts across the US. In addition to Tallarico, who has composed the soundtracks of Earthworm Jim and Advent Rising, Jade Empire and Splinter Cell composer Jack Wall is acting as a key figure behind the project. The tour will begin on July 6th at the Hollywood Bowl. Songs to be performed at the various concerts will include music from Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda and Halo, but also tracks from older games such as Donkey Kong and Pong.

In addition to performances by orchestras and choirs, the various events will also feature laser shows and live demonstration of gameplay footage.

On a related note, AOL has replaced their Final Fantasy radio station with a station playing music from various games, such as Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, Halo, and Final Fantasy. AOL had previously offered a radio station that played music from the Final Fantasy series, but that station went dark in November of 2004.

You know what, I just wish that for once they'd come here!

Even Hong Kong or Taiwan would be fine! At least they'd be much nearer. <_<

Awww, what I really want is a Yasunori Mitsuda concert. I would seriously start screaming if they started holding concerts with him.
