Title: The Turks
Description: Which is your favorite?
Anastar - November 1, 2004 06:58 PM (GMT)
Out of all the Turks in FFVII, which one was your favorite and why?
Reeve was my favorite. Even though he spied on Avalanche at the start, he regretted it by the end of the game. He learned to admire what Avalanche was trying to do, and tried to help by taking Marlene and Elmyra to Kalm. I thought he was a great character.
Cloudsgirl - November 1, 2004 07:36 PM (GMT)
maybe it's that red hair... or that spunk, but Reno is my favorite turk! Elaina is my second fave!
Andina - November 2, 2004 01:50 AM (GMT)
Ahh, but how could you anyone ever compete with Reno and Elena. Those two are what dreams are made of. :D
When I think of Reeve I think of Caith Sith and that big, fat...thing it rode. That's what Reeve means for me. *giggle* And for some reason I always link Caith/Reeve to Aerith's death as he was the one that stole the Keystone and messed things up for Cloud and Aerith. Of course it's impossible to tell if things would have gone wrong even if Reeve never would have stole the Keystone, but still... <_<

Well, they were headed for the Temple of Ancients even before Cait Sith stole the Keystone, ye know. In fact, they first talked about going to the Temple of Ancients when they left Rocket Town. Cloud got the Keystone from Dio in order to go there. At any time that Sephiroth had gotten the Black Materia, Aerith would have gone to pray for Holy.
I still like Reeve more than the other Turks... :P And Cait Sith is adorable. It's just that big Moogle I hate. :(
slowerthanaverage - November 2, 2004 11:47 AM (GMT)
has to be Reno!!! He's too cute!! Remember how he stepped on Aerith flowers the first time we see him in the church? Then he promptly turned around and warned his men not to step on the flowers. How funnily sweet. hehe
*stalks Reno*
Sefie - November 2, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
It's all about Tseng, and I'm not sure why. Maybe he's the hottest next to Reeve(who's my second fave) but I dunno. Then Elena's third, and I'm not sure why THERE either. Maybe because she's so dediated to her job and doing what she thinks is right every time. Plus her hair looks like Scully's ;)
Kaldea - November 3, 2004 05:28 AM (GMT)
Reno is my favorite. I love his attitude and he makes some pretty funny remarks. I love how he is turning out in AC.
Shadow Ivy - November 4, 2004 03:46 AM (GMT)
*points to avatar* Been lovin' him for years...I just dig his look, his attitude...and he is definitely looking nice in AC. I've always liked that "slacker yet serious when I wanna be" archtype.
...and he's a redhead in goggles.
PEACE!!

Tifa Lockheart - November 4, 2004 05:10 AM (GMT)
I basically like all the Turks... because they're all funny. It's fun cracking and making jokes about them... *yeah, my friends and I sometimes do that as a past-time when things get boring...especially the RudexTifa jokes XD*
Anyway, you know the Turk from Before Crisis? The one with the Shotgun... she looks like Lucrecia... I like her too. ^_^
Carmencita - November 9, 2004 01:18 PM (GMT)
I like all of the Turks... they're my fave characters in the game. My favorite Turk to write about, though, is Rude. Wahahah!
But something repels me from Tseng... him I don't like so much for some reason.
The Turks rawk! The new ones look interesting, too! I wish they had names. :D
nomadff7 - November 13, 2004 09:49 PM (GMT)
Hmm... Tough question! I really don't have a Turk that I don't like, they are all great! But I guess that Reno is my favorite, because he was just so cool, with his hair and attitude and everything. But that's not to say I don't like Rude, Elena, and Tseng. Hey, I just remembered that Vincent was a former Turk so I'd have to have him up there with Reno too. But was Reeve even a Turk? I mean, it's been awhile since I've played the game, but I don't remember him ever being one.

Reeve was actually head of the Urban Development Department under Shinra, but he often gets grouped with the other Turks since Cait Sith helped them get the Keystone. If he wasn't actually a Turk, he was definitely helping them originally.

The reason why I first thought he was a Turk was because he was wearing a fancy suit like the Turks. ^_^
But that was back then when I was oh so young and innocent. :D
Marionette - November 14, 2004 10:13 AM (GMT)
I like Tseng even thought he did slap Aerith BUT he only did it because of his inner fiery lust for her.
I also find Tseng x Aerith rather cute.
Yukari - November 18, 2004 10:41 PM (GMT)
Elena's my favourite. I like Rude, but Elena's cluelessness is endearing. And her hairstyle is so now. ;)
Aeris - November 24, 2004 03:56 AM (GMT)
I liked Tseng, because he was sweet, and nice.
Enima - November 28, 2004 03:37 AM (GMT)
Between all the Turks I was attracted to Rude, but I liked Elena better as for some reason she reminds me of myself :P .
Aprillis - November 30, 2004 09:11 AM (GMT)
I love Tseng... I liked how he took care of little Aerith. Too bad he died.
Elena's cool. A very powerful character to boot, as well.
And TsengxAerith is cute. At first I thought Aerith's old boyfriend was Tseng, but I guess not.
The_Krazie_Chick - November 25, 2006 05:26 AM (GMT)
I love Reno. Oh, how I love Reno. He's just too cute, and the red hair...SEXY. Elena has always annoyed me, and Tseng is cool. Ohyeah, I've never understood the Cait Sith hate, he's just a misunderstood little kitty.
Rinchan - November 25, 2006 08:15 AM (GMT)
I like Elena the best. I don't know why, but I've always found her to be so cute. Especially when your in that city up North and if she punches Cloud she feels so bad for it. And it's cool that she's the only female Turk.
Reno is a close second though. He was so funny in the game and in AC.
Desi - November 25, 2006 05:46 PM (GMT)
Rude, he's just awesome. Elena comes a close second, since I can relate to her a lot.
Alantie - November 30, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
I like Reno the best. He's just too funny and that red hair of his is very, very smexy. He's a breath of fresh air after all the angsty characters. (Though I do love the angsty ones!) But he can be serious when he needs to be!
I also like Elena, particularly in the Wutai sidequest. When she gets caught by Don what's his face, and she's hanging upside down on that stone statue, I just crack up!
Lutearina - December 19, 2006 08:06 AM (GMT)

....Oh. Present-day Turks? X3
Reno. Yush, hairy-hair thar. XP
VINCENT PWNS J00, N00B WANNABE TURKS. >D

Ah, this topic really deserved to be bumped (and include a voting poll, but alas...) because the Turks can never get too much love. :fangirl:

When is is said that Reeve is/was a Turk? I don't remember that ever being said in the original game. Was it brought up in DoC?
As far as I know, he's the Head of Urban Development. If anything, I think he was the only competent Shinra executive who could devote the time to controlling Cait Sith and spying on AVALANCHE - so he was working with the Turks, but wasn't actually a member of the Turks.
But still, all Reeve-love is good love. ^_^
Anyway, I guess my favourites would be:
#1. Tseng:
Definitely the one who interested me the most, and also the one I found the most menacing - he's very professional and seemingly-emotionless and in control, but doesn't go over-the-top with it, like Rude (who ends up looking a bit sweet and funny). But on top of all that, there's his mysterious affection for Aeris, and that really intrigues me. The clues you get to what his character/personality is like are much more subtle than any of the other Turk members, so I can't help speculating. He's the most mysterious of them all, in my opinion. You don't see as much of him as the other Turks, you never have to fight him, so he comes off as much more elusive than the other Turks, who you end up thinking of pretty much as old pals by the end of the game. And I love his relationship with Aeris because it's so open to speculation (note to self: write ten million fanfics, asap!). Another thing that draws me to his character is how we see a different side to Aeris when she's around him - she's quite harsh, angry and defensive (maybe even bitter?) when she interacts with him, and not at all like the sweet, understanding and all-forgiving stereotype she's so often accused of being. It just fascinates me to ponder about the whole thing, and his character.
Plus he is teh_sex0r!!!

:lmao: *is a not-so-secret Tseng/Aeris fan on the side*
#2. Reno & Elena:
These two get all my runner-up love! Reno was by far my favourite when I first played FFVII (think I was about 13 or something) because he was just so cool - sloppy in appearence, yet extremely good at his job, and his personality and attitude was the one that entertained me the most. He could be a ruthless killer, but knew how to kick back and enjoy himself in the off-hours, seemed to genuinely care about the rest of his Turk "family" and reluctantly care about AVALANCHE by the end, and could gossip about people's love-lives worse than an old lady. I still like him a lot as a character, but not as much as I did then (maybe because of too much Fanon!Reno everywhere...?). And I've always loved Elena. She was just so genuine and clueless and the sense that she wasn't yet jaded by her line of work was something very sweet. I loved how she was so desperate to impress the others and fit in and be the cool, always professional Turk, but always messed up (and still, she was tough in a fight!). Poor girl tried so hard. I really liked some of her emotional moments too; her crush on Tseng, and when she confronts Cloud at the Icicle Village over what happened to him... Moments like that made her so endearing.
#3. Rude:
I didn't want to put Rude last because Rude is awesome (if anything, Turk!Vincent is last because I have no interest in him right now). I loved his secret crush on Tifa. It was absolutely adorable and I totally 'ship Rude/Tifa.
NekoDono - July 27, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
Reeve was never a turk. He was head of Urban Development. He was also just an employee of the Urban Development department during Before Crisis.
Any who, I'm your usual Reno fan. I met Quinton Flynn and almost died. Tseng was real cool in Last Order and I look forward to seeing him in Crisis Core. Elena annoyed me in VII sadly. She seemed so pushy. And Rude is always great. He was great fun in AC. (The broken sunglasses scene :D )
I like how Tseng's hair was before VII. The pony tail really suits him, although his hair being down gives him a more mature, authoritative air. He looks like he's very formal with his job but does have qualms with it. In Last Order he objected, albeit lightly, to Hojo's telling him to deal with the people of Nibelheim. I suppose he, unlike Prof. Hojo, has a consience. (Or at least Hojo just blocks his out... <_< )
Asuka - August 5, 2007 04:21 AM (GMT)
My favourite Turk is Reno, I loved how he was in VII. He had that sneaky arrogant thing about him.
I also liked Tseng mainly because of his relationship with Aerith...whatever that may be.

Reno, because of his cool attitude.
Tseng, his relationship with Aerith and he looks mysterious.
Elena, she's a bit like Yuffie and her cluelessness made her like her.
Vincent is an ex-Turk so I'll include him on my list. ^_^
::CloudSmiles:: - August 19, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
I love all of the Turks equally, but if I had to pick one....Reno and Rude. Oh, wait, that's two... Anyway, Reno and Rude are both my favorites. They always seem to lighten the mood with their crazy antics. I thought they were portrayed a little differently in AC than they were in VII, but that's okay.
aerithlove527 - August 22, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
I don't know if Reno's playart figure been posted or not....anyway, I'm gonna post the link here~
Reno1Reno2His face is somewhat different from what I thought in playart...I perfer his sly smile with his tongue put out.
Back to the topic, I love Reno best in Turks! It's a pitty that his English dub cannot emphasize Reno's special way of dialect(I mean his "...
da zo do " at the end of his lines in Japanes). I like the way he and Rude get together~kinda Big Bro with a naughty boy thing to me~ :fangirl:
