Description: Check it out...

The Official Japanese site for Crisis Core has been opened. There's not much on it right now, but the release date is shown as sometime in 2006. Here's a link to it:
Official Site for Crisis Core

Huh, interesting. I'm just wondering something though. What IS Crisis Core about anyway?
I've heard so little news on it, I don't know anything about it.

We know nothing about it yet. Square hasn't said a word, which makes me suspicious. The only thing I remember being said was that the Compilation would come to a surprising conclusion. Since Crisis Core is apparently the last to be released, it seems that the "surprising conclusion" will happen in Crisis Core.
The core of the planetary crisis has always been Jenova, so does Crisis Core have to do with Jenova?

Well at least I'm not behind in the info!
But that WOULD be interesting, if it was about Jenova (and maybe even the Ancients!) and their story is the 'core' to the crisis. I hope it is about them as Jenova seems so underrated by a lot of fans. ^_^

I always thought of Jenova as being like Eve from Parasite Eve. Hm.

I was wondering whether the Ancients would be involved in it, too. Originally, I was thinking that maybe Crisis Core would happen before FFVII and show the original crisis between the Ancients and Jenova. A retrospective would be a strange way to end the Compilation, though.

For those of us who haven't played Parasite's Eve... what do you mean?
Seii Monogatari - April 18, 2005 03:45 AM (GMT)
Well, Eve infects people, and she can alter the way they look as she pollutes their bodies. Aya (that girl Nomura is really fond of) is from Parasite Eve. I know he did a shoujo-ai-style drawing of Eve and Aya. And in one of her various mutated forms she has about 18 breasts, the two longest ones trail around behind her.
I think my dear Nomura was being a bit of a pervert during that game.
But then, she was all out of whack, there were appendages growing out of everywhere, just ... nuts.
There was a great Eve shrine somewhere, I'll see if I can find it again ...
But that's always how I'd envisioned Jenova, like a parasitic alien that takes control of people and changes form.

Ewwww.... I see what you mean. Yeah, there are definite similarities. :puke:
It sounds to me like Nomura was being a bit of a perv with the character designs for that one, too.
Ye know, if Crisis Core is about Jenova... doesn't that mean that they didn't get rid of Jenova in AC and DC?
Materia Thief - April 19, 2005 04:41 AM (GMT)
I've always thought that you could never truly get rid of Jenova, as even the Ancients could only seal her away, but that's a very long essay for another day. :)
And I think it'd be cool if they ended the compilation with a retrospection. It's sorta like, to know the future, you must first look to the past. ^_^

I've always thought that they simply haven't found a way to get rid of Jenova yet. ;)

It'd be interesting... but what I'd like to see even more than that would be the original version of FFVII when there was no question that Cloud and Aerith were in love - the version that existed before they incorporated the Dating Mech and Tifa into the game.

Not much of a site is it?

 Well, it's not like we have much info on it either. ^_^

There aren't many details about the game available, but Square Enix did show an animated concept trailer. The trailer revolved around Zack, the soldier who fought alongside Cloud before the events of the original Final Fantasy VII. It showed a rendering of the Final Fantasy VII bit where Zack and Cloud spoke together, interspersed with images of Sephiroth going mad in Nibelheim and many scenes of Zack in battle. This suggests that Crisis Core will be a prequel to its source material, with Zack as the main character.
I wish they would let out more, but you knwo S-E ^^XD
