It was cold and dark as Reju sat on the ground. The city he once loved was gone and was torn in shambles. Reju's eyes looked at the ground he was sad and if anyone looked at him they could tell. Reju looked up at the sky the stars gllistend in the black sky. He smiled softly knowing there was hope. He looked back one last time to see what was happing to the city. The flames grew larger as they took over the remains of the ruined city. There goes another city. Reju thought as he began to walk.

So far every city Reju had walked into was distroyed by the mysterious flame. Some were sooner then others but in about three days they all were nothing. Reju put his hand in his pocket softly rubbing his thumb across the orb. It was smooth and silky almost like cloth but you could still feel the magic in it. It almost seemed like it was made from many things. Glass to be one of them. Reju always thought of breaking it but he was to scared of the reprocutions of it. Reju laughed slightly to himself as he walked along the path. "You really are an idiot Reju." he said to himself.

Iris walked near a city that was burning. She wanted to help people.
As she neared it, she saw a man. She ran up to him quickly.
"Are you alright?" she asked. The man didn't say anything. "Sir, please answer. I want to help you." she said again.

Reju looked at the girl, she was utterly butiful. He was to ashamed to tell her. "I...I am fine." he said softly "I caused this horriblenss." he mutterd ashamed of what he had done. He took out a orb that glistend in the darkness. IT was blue with stars inside. "Well actually this did it." he mutterd.

"Was there anyone if the village?" she asked.

Reju nodded in sorrow. "Yes, but I did not mean to." he said softly his eyes welling with tears. men don't cry Reju. reju thought as he looked back at the town. "The orb does it to every town I walk into." he wisperd seemingly trying to hide it from the orb.

"May I see it?" Iris asked.

Reju looked at her in shock. "It chooses if you are worthy or not, it killed one person and split my soul." he said handing it to her. "I hope you are worthy."

Iris takes it and looks at it.
"It has the stars in it..." she said. A faint blue glow started to radiate from it. "Is this a good thing?" she asked.

Reju shrugged. "All I know is I am supposed to take it to the Gates of Truth and Love. The stars have gotten more and more each time a city dies. I think it means something." Reju said then started walking off.

Iris ran up to him.
"Here, take this back." she said handing him back the stone. "If you want me to come along, I will." she then said adding a smile.

Reju looked at her dumbfounded. "Why would you want to put yourself in danger for something I did?" he asked puzzled. He grabbed the orb and shuffed it back into his pocket. "I have no idea if you will die or not, and I really hope, you won't" he said softly.

"Do you want me to come?" she asked.

Reju shrugged. "I don't mind. But don't expect me to care if you di..... I mean yeah but be careful." he said his dark side almost taking over. Reju then began to walk even faster as the blue fire crept up faster. "By the way, my name is Reju." he said as he began to pick up speed.


((It is okay.))

"Thank you. I want to help. My name is Iris. It's nice to meet you." she said running up to catch him.

Reju nodded. "A pretty name with a pretty face." he said with a laugh then started running. "Hurry, we have to out run the fire." he said as he grabbed her hand. It was smooth and soft and Reju could sense the kindness in Iris.

Iris ran with him. His hands were rough. He needed lotion, but she never thought about carrying any. She smiled at they ran. She had made a friend. But did he accept her as a friend?

Reju looked back at her and then glanced at the fire. "Okay...I have no Idea how to get to the Soul of the planet. But I guess....we could always find a town with a sumuner." he said softly. He started to pick up the pace then looked back at her. "Are wegoing to fast?" he asked kindly.

Iris smiled at him.
"No, I'm fine." she replied. "I think I know how to get to the Soul of the Planet. It was where my parents and brother was burried." she said.

Reju looked at her in shock. "What?!" he asked her then stoped since they were quiet far from the fire. "Are they...were they Planet Spirits? I heard about them....they were the reason that the planet lived...but now....it is less..most died form a sickness...and now what I unleashed is killing more people and the planet is dieing within itslef." Reju said softly then looked at Iris in the eyes. She truly was butiful but Reju would never admitt it.

Iris looked down.
"They only lived to protect the planet. But when they died... the planet went into chaos. I still remember the last thing my brother told me..." she said with warm tears forming in her eyes. "He told me "Don't die Iris. You're the only one left that can protect the planet..." he said. After that, he just died in my arms..." she said choking on tears.

Reju felt sympathy for her and brought her close. He hugged her hoping to make her feel better. "I am.....sorry." he wispered. He was not sure as to what to do, but he knew when he was younger his mother would hug him. "At least you had a family, I killed mine when I wasyoung and niieve." he said softly hoping she would not abandon him.

"It's not your fault. I know what killed them." she said hugging him back. "I just want someone to be there and listen to me. Most people wont do that. But you're different." she said.

Reju closed his eyes. He felt safe in her arms. He flet like nothing could stop him from saving the planet. why do I feel safe and complete around her? reju thought to himself. He was amazed at how much he was becoming good around her.

Iris cleared her throat.
"I'm sorry about all the waterworks. Now, shall we go save the planet?" she asked smiling. Her tear streaked face was red. She wiped away all the tears that had fallen when she was crying.

Reju nodded. "Yeah....you will have to show the way." he said softly hoping he did not cry. He looked at his brass knuckles tightend them and then got ready to get there and fight if he had to.

Iris turned, but as she did, her chest started hurting. She laughed to hide her true pain.
"Stupid illness..." she said.

Reju looked at her confused. "What illness?" he asked rather puzzled.

"It's the illness that killed my parents and brother." she said. Her chest pain eased. "There we go, all better." she said smiling.

Reju nodded. "Well then, lets go save the planet and hopefully, you will be heald." he said happily as he started walking.

Iris nodded nad walked a little farther ahead of him.
"Hopefully..." she said looking down. A part of her wanted to be with her family, but the other half wanted to be with Reju.

Reju jogged to catch up. "Hey...see that town up there?" he asked her as he squintind to see.

She looked ahead.
"Yeah, what about it?" she asked.

Reju shrugged not really knowing what to say. "Should we stay the night?" he asked softly not sure what to do.

"I don't know. What aabout your orb?" she asked.

Reju nodded remembering the orb. "I forgot about that." he said soflty. and slowed down his walk.

Iris went infront of him.
"I'll make sure nothing happens." she said smiling.

Reju smiled. "Thanks." he laughed slightly as he said it. "I have only known you for about an hour now and it seems like we have known eachother for years." he said with a laugh.

Iris laughed.
"You have a point." she said smiling. "Here, let me hold on to the orb and you rest when we get there okay?" she finished.

Reju shrugged. "I don't see any harm in it." he said softly. "Just be careful, I don't want anything to happen to you." he mutterd handing her the orb.
