So, you know Aeris's Japanese VA is Maaya Sakamoto, right? She's got a really pretty song called "Kiseki no Umi." I've been listening to it over and over again. >_< It's SUCH a pretty song!! :D

EDIT: Other notes about Maaya Sakamoto:

She sang the ending theme for Wolf's Rain, a beautiful song entitled "Gravity".

She often works with the Japanese composer, Yoko Kanno, who worked on the Wolf's Rain OST

Maaya has voiced Aura in .hack//Legend Of The Twilight, Lunamaria Hawke in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Hamona in Wolf's Rain, Arieth (coincidental name, ya?) in Petite Princess Yucie [episode 11], Aura in .hack//SIGN, Stella in Cowboy Bebop, Hitomi Kanzaki in Escaflowne, Motoko Kusanagi [child] in Ghost in Shell, Natsume in the entire .hack videogame series, Aura in .hack//Mutation and .hack//Quarantine, as well as providing the voice of Queen Amidala/Padme for the Japanese dub of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

It was such a shock for me when I figured out that she sang "Gravity." I've been a fan of that song for such a long time, and I remember reading that she sang it (this was all before she was cast as Aeris) a while back, but I never connected the two before now. It's such an amazing song!! :D

I've heard very few Japanese songs. Only ones related to FF really. :unsure: I'd love to hear it though!

Actually, CG, technically the song is sung in English, like Simple and Clean was. So really, although she might have an accent, Maaya could do the English VA for Aeris also. But I doubt it. It'd be interesting though. Hm.

It's a gorgeous song though. Kiseki no Umi is also good, and so is Chibiko.

I would love for Maaya Sakamoto to be Aerith's English voice actor. So what if she has an accent? Wouldn't that just make her seem a bit more like a Cetra? I wouldn't mind that at all.

I've never heard Gravity, but I'm sure it's pretty. That'd be cool to have Maaya do a song, too... although I don't think I want to see Aerith singing, especially if she did a number like Yuna at the beginning of FFX-2. No thanks. :lol:

No, nothing liike that. Just sorta like ... well not exactly like the song in RotK, but once you finally see her face or something, have her in the flowerfield singing ... or I don't know. :unsure:

Kusari, I think part of the reason she doesn't sound as much like Aerith when she sings Gravity is that she was singing in a foriegn language. If you hear Kuseki No Umi she sounds a lot like Aerith.

That's where "Terra in Black" is, as well as "Be More Human" and a whole host of other great songs (although Kuseki no Umi is the only Sakamoto song). "Be More Human" was composed by Yoko Kanno, the composer Maya does a lot of her work with.

CAUTION: Avoid "Papi Chulo", it is THE MOST annoying song I have EVER HEARD.
