Title: Kaso
Description: Application

Kaso - March 4, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
First off congrats for getting the guild going. Now then, I've been watching your guild and think its looking like a place where I could do well. If I get in ill be a warrior and hopefully a leader. I have a lot of experience with games like Roma-Victor and strategy games so I think I'd work well for you guys. I'm very loyal, very dedicated, and according to nearly everyone who knows me very intelligent. Reply soon if you can. I'll be waiting.

Nicely quoted. I simply assumed by reading other applications we were supposed to promote ourselves, but whatever. Anyway so you know I wasn't trying to brag or anything. I just think this clan looks like it could go far and it apparently wants only "elite" people.

Oh, one last thing: If in order to be a genius one must believe that they are an idiot, then wouldn't they become an idiot because they do not even know themselves? You can't be an idiot and a genius simply by definition.

I am not in the mood for philosphical debate, the sentiment of my quote is simple; one who belives he is brillant is a very dangerous creature.

Yes this guild has a bug up it's ass about the elite thing, but really it's just a symbol like everything. Us Etruscans are just as "elite", we just don't make any claims to it. A perfect example of symbolism would be an ultra-liberal party adopting the swastika as it's emblem, no one would vote for it simply becuase.

Don't fall for symbols, they don't mean anything.

BTW my connection to this guild has been explained somewhere. What is your name on the RV forums?

Guest - March 5, 2005 05:05 AM (GMT)
I wasn't trying to say I'm brilliant, but I was trying to tell any good qualities I could and the best way to tell about yourself is to repeat what people say about you. I didn't want to debate either but it seemed as though you were attempting to attack me so I attempted to defend myself. Anyway its up to the guild to decide if I'm any of those things so it doesn't really matter. My name on the RV forums is Kaso but i haven't posted much of anything on there. Nothing struck my interest until now. By the way, if your from the Etruscan guild why are you replying to the recruitment forum of this guild?

Lhorkan - March 5, 2005 07:16 AM (GMT)
Well, at least you can spell correctly, already something :) We'll find out the rest soon enough. Some questions you may want to answer:

Why are you going to play Roma Victor?

Why should we let you into this guild? And not only because you say you're very loyal and such, but if you could post some urls of other forums where you are active... That would be nice.

What positions do you want to play as? (you probably found out already that you always need a wartime and peacetime profession ;))

And you truly should make yourself an account, not always appear as a guest.

Xenophon - March 5, 2005 07:28 AM (GMT)
My thoughts exactly, oh Adam... what the hell are you doing? This is an application form for the clan Brathair Prasgan, if you want to join please start a new thread; if not then keep to other parts of the guild and let us do the talking to our potenial members. Thank You.

Anyways, welcome Kaso to our guild. I am pleased that you wish to join us.

Please think on the questions Lhorkan posted, especially about urls. If your going to post a forum please make it to the thread you posted... nothing annoys me more than spending an hour looking for some damn post.

And also answer the "Why should we let you into this guild?" question. If your old enough to have a job you will know what this question means. If not I'll tell you. Right now we are happy with the number of our guild members, something like 14 or so. We have never accepted a person just to make our guild 'look bigger', unlike the previous guild I was in. Anyways, I ask, what makes you so special that we would have to be fools not to accept you? Is there any talents that would be useful to our guild. Do you plan on spending hours in these forums or others helping the clan? Things like this (see Cpt Wenis, or General Maximus thread for my post saying much the same thing but in more detail).

Also, what other games have you played online... who knows one of us might know or heard of you, and it would help you join our guild.

At any rate you should know our answer in a few days, but the more you post the better chance you have to win people over... catch my drift ;)

Please read the appliance notice and correct your application.

Sorry guys, I had a bad fever last night and don't remember anything. I have bronchitis right now.

Kaso - March 5, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
You guys are right. I looked at some other application posts and to some extent used them as a model. I visit a lot of forums but have never been an active poster simply because most people I see posting are stubborn idiots and I know enough of those in real life and I'm not looking for more endless arguments.

Anyway, I'm going to play RV because it's an online game where I can be what I want, be what I want, and fight with who I want without dozens of pointless battles with "Orgnar the Mighty Orc-Rabbit" etc. It's an online game based on skill instead of "Joe swings Axe of Power he does 15 damage" and crap like that.

I'll be playing military positions of my leader's (assuming I get in) choice. It all depends on whats needed and what I turn out to be good at on RV. I've played a lot of FPS games online and a lot of strategy games online so I believe I'll do well in the military.

I suppose there's no way for me to tell you why I should be let in because no matter what I say I'll still have to prove it. So all I can say is: Let me prove it.

Almost forgot. I'm 16 and I mostly play video games listen to music and go hang around with my friends.

Could you give me some examples of what strategy games you've played? Some strategy games are different from another, and knowing which ones you've played can help.

Kaso - March 5, 2005 07:12 PM (GMT)
Sure. I play a lot of them but mostly the Total War series, occasionally Starcraft, Republic the Revolution (not anymore CD won't work), used to play Civilization, and a few other minor games.

If you guys want to know anything else just ask.

Cpt.Wenis - March 5, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
Having strategy skills in the Total War series is good, because they will be kind of similar to RV. Same with Civilization series. Starcraft will be different, but a very good game. You should play Warcraft 3, if you like Starcraft. :sensei

Kaso - March 5, 2005 07:26 PM (GMT)
As a matter of fact i have Warcraft 3, but I've always liked SC better. Anyway, I know that SC won't have anything to do with this game in particular, but I figured I'd add it anyway. Still I play Rome Total War exclusively now (aside from the Battlefield games and Halo, but that's a different story).

Once again any questions appreciated.

al_ - March 6, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
You played "Republic the Revolution", that is interesting. I haven't heard much about that game but it looks quite intriguing. It also say's much about your character. Thankyou for your punctual replies, it is apparent that you give time towards these matters.

Kaso - March 6, 2005 02:46 AM (GMT)
I appreciate it al. Republic is pretty much dead now though. In case anyone's wondering it's kind of a political strategy game.

Xenophon - March 6, 2005 03:55 AM (GMT)
Kaso, great to hear from ya buddy. So applicants place their post and come back in a couple of days to see if there in. Others, most of the goods ones too, come every couple of hours to see if they can answer any questions the clan asks. To say the least, I'm pleased to see so many posts with thoughtful responses. It shows dedication and character.

Also, in case it slipped your mind, please post any forums you call home. It will help us make your decision, and more likely in your favour, if you do. If you don't have any forums thats alright, all we ask here is that you come check out whats new every couple of days and post what you think, this show that A) Your still alive and B) Give us a better idea of what you want to happen and what the guild overall wants.

In any event, I have only one question:

Have you checked out and read most of the Roma Victor site? escpecially the parts that involve game mechanics?

--Colin--

Guest - March 6, 2005 04:20 AM (GMT)
I've never been a major poster on any forums, but I visit the totalwar.com forums, roma-victor forums, and planetbattlefield.com pretty often if that helps.

And to your question Xenophon: I haven't searched through all the site of course but I believe I understand for the most part how its meant to work. I have a question about the guild though. I looked through the forums and apparently not much has been decided on yet, but 1) where is the guild going to be located 2) what will the hierarchy be like i.e. monarchy, senate, etc. 3) will the guild be actively involved in war or focusing mainly on economy and defense?

Kaso - March 6, 2005 04:22 AM (GMT)
That was me by the way. I thought I was logged on when I typed it.

Xenophon - March 6, 2005 04:33 AM (GMT)
I believe I can answer those questions.

1) For one our location can be seen in one of the topics in the diplomacy forum. Which you likely have not been too. For a more precise location, it will be decided a little later on and known only to guild members.

2) We will have a leader(s) but it is the clan as a whole that decides on an issue. The leader decides the minor issues and the ones the clan cannot come together and make. As for more about this you have to be a member.

3) Hmmm, hard to say. It really depends on what you want to do. There will always be a war with the romans, and as for defence and economy I intend to devote much of my time there. I know some want to be warriors and others want to be farmers, smiths and such.

I hope that answers your questions.

Kaso - March 6, 2005 04:41 AM (GMT)
I've been to the diplomacy forum, but I've seen Germania, Austria, and a mention of living in one city with 2 other guilds at different forums and topics talking about the guild so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the answers Xeno.

Xenophon - March 6, 2005 04:47 AM (GMT)
Well to clarify, us and two other guilds are going to be living in the same city in austria.

Kaso - March 6, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
Alright then. I've been hearing about the Lombard League which apparently is the alliance between the 3 guilds. Is each guild supposed to be part of one collective "nation"? For example: brathair-military,etruia-economy, etc.

No. We're 3 separate clans, each with our own economy, military and politics. But we do plan on living together in 1 city, in a strong alliance.

Kaso, I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into our brotherhood. I will PM the passwords of the locked forums to you. May you find all that you seek with us.
