Title: Solbein's App
Description: new player seeking guild membership

Hails fellow Barbarians! My name is Solbein (ingame persona- Ravenoldo Euerbert Athalbald). I am new to the world of Roma-Victor and am seeking guild membership with you. While i am new to this game in particular, i am a veteran gamer, having beta tested many mmorpg's and still currently play Dark Age of Camelot. I feel this game has the potential to be innovate in ways others have failed and offer groundbreaking gameplay to the genre. I'm a 21 yr. old CS major. My hobbies include gaming, of course, not to be limited to online, although it has beena while since i broke out the rulebooks and monster manual, ;). I also enjoy music and play several instruments in my spare time. After having read the posts on your site, your guild seems like the type of organization i would be honored to be a part of. With the ultimate in comradery, as well as a place where every individual shines and is a strong point in the overall organization. I bring with me many skills from vast experience in other games, combat tactics, leadership skills, as well as a clear grasp on the world of roleplaying and what it takes for all those involved to participate in an enjoyable gaming experience. Henceforth, i could be bestowed no greater honor than to join the ranks of your establishment, and offer whatever assistance the gods have granted me in furthering it's name. Thank you for your consideration, and may i see you all soon on the fields of battle,
Sol

Hail. I'm one of the founders of this clan but I retired a couple of months ago. Still visit this place often though.
You've got a very promising application there, Solbein. I'll leave the professional questions to the actual leaders, I'm just here for decorative purposes ;)
You say you play several instruments. Which ones? And where are you from?
Is it close to Athens in Georgia?

Greetings, I am NulliSecundus, a co-leader of this guild.
I'm guessing by this line you'll be wanting a career in the millitary. Also, what country are you from?

Hello and welcome to the forums. I have but two questions for now: How did you manage to stumble upon our humble abode?
Have you read our guild outline at the
RV Forums? You don't have to read it all (Xeno has a habit of overexplaining), but it would be good to look over the Economical part.
Another: What other MMOs have played? You could describe how well you liked them, if you want. I'm just trying to fill in for everyone else asking some questions. :salto

It makes sure no one can say they didn't understand <_<
Greets to you to Solbein, nice to see another take interest in our guild. I am also one of the Leaders of this great guild (which I guess you could have seen anyways if you looked on the left hand side of the screen ;) )
Anyhow, I just got up so I really don't have my usual staccato of questions so should not be all that difficult to answer.
- Like Nulli mentioned, do you want to be in the military? Eventually what area do you want to focus on? Marksman, Cavalry, Infantry, artillery, or maybe head cook :P
- I am curious as well, how did you find our site? Truth be told I have not bumped our guild topic in RV with some "useful" crap in a while... :( .
- Lastly why choose the military? If I remember correctly Dark Age of Camelot is based largely on combat. Roma Victor, on the other hand is about half and half. At the moment, though, in our guild the majority of the people here are those that want to spend most of their time steeped in economics (which pleases me to no end :D ). I am not trying to turn you away, on the contrary we do need more people in the military, but I wonder why you chose us instead of one of the more heavily militaristic guilds out there (ie the ones that are completely military personnel).
Also it would be fair to tell you --> "Traken wipes the cobwebs off his keyboard." That most of our guild members are taking a nap at the moment. This is not because we have grown bored of the game, but instead we have discussed just about there is to say involving Roma Victor. Look at our Forum post count, 9,500+ posts have been done here since starting up in Feb. 2005. Hell both me and Nulli have over a thousand posts, though must do be rambling of half-madmen.

Well, well, well. We've got ourselves a new applicant. I normally leave these matters to our fine co-leader Alex Trebek, but seeing as you seem interested in the military I thought I'd introduce myself. I am a co-leader of this guild and the head of its army. If you decide to be a soldier, you'll work for me. I'm not gonna take any bullshit, but do good and you'll rise quick. Now then, I'll hand this back over to my talkative friends.

I resent that statement, the bastard left my country for reasons better left unsaid... though I do find it clever and slightly funny (damn you Trebek). Trebek is but a pebble to mountain compared to Brett Hall (how could you, you where one my heroes :'(.
Anyways, back on subject I got a few more for you.... even though you haven't answered the first batch yet <_<
- Recently (today) I looked at Dark Age of Camelot and to me it looks pretty damn good. Infact it bares a close resemblance to Roma Victor, though its economics is, from what I can tell, nonexistant when related to RV. Since the games are pretty close (the military mechanics anyways) why do you choose this game over that one? Or do you wish to try and do both (my hats off to you if you do).

--> "My blade and my life are their." or so Babel Fish claims. I even translated the word Ihre and it still comes out "Their"...odd is this slang or is it a quote from someone (besides yourself ;) )

Forgive my ignorance but what is a CS major?
Traken - December 2, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
I'm assuming CS means Computer Science.

I have another question for you Solbein. If you get your hands on the game, how much time would you be able to spend playing it daily/weekly?

I figured as much. I agree babel fish does suck, but I am far to lazy to go out and find a better translator.
Solbien, where the hell are you? It dosen't do you any good for you application if you don't reply...
Xenophon - December 6, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
