Title: ATI Or NVIDIA

What's yours and why? I'm a NVIDIA man myself because the 6600GT was the best bang for buck card at the time of purchase and I reckon I'll stick with NVIDIA in the future.

Nvidia for me. It is both powerfull and reliable.
I have a crap 5200 FX that is able to play Battlefield 2, Black and White 2, Rome Total War (with 8000 units in a battle) perfectly fine with all the settings on either medium or high.

I have an ATI ASUS X850. One of the best cards on the market.
I'll need it to play X3: Reunion and TES4: Oblivion soon :D

Yeah, I've just ordered the Geforce 7800GT.

I have played X2 but got tired of it after a while. Even with time compression it still takes a day and a half to get anywhere, the story line is far from impersive, and the damned "physics engine" made me sick. If they fixed them up in number three (which is out by the way) then it would be the best star sim out there (personal fav is freelancer right now, woot go mouse!).
Morrowind rocked big time (especially when you added mods to it), the screens for number 4 took my breath away. Damn you microsoft, release 360 so we can experiane this great game!
Got CoD 2, and my good old card can handle top graphic settings. :) This makes mutliplayer a ton of fun!

:ermm:
Well, it seems the damned physics engine was because of the rudder (which I just found out you can disable), and Seta (the time compression) you can change to go faster or slower (mine was on one of the slowest settings).
These changes in mind the game became, not only playable but fun. The story still sucks, objectives are vague and no star or indicator can make you frustrated. The fmv is, well to put it bluntly like something I could make (I have no clue as to make an fmv by the way) it is that bad.
But, if your like me, and just ignore the "plot" and do whatever the hell you feel like then the game is amazing.
Right now I'm trying to get my merchant ships to auto trade... only one of the bastards is doing what he is supposed to, the other two, well, they are likely to find a home with the discard ships of yore.
Thats basically the only thing (though be it a huge thing) that is better then freelancer, you can buy ships (as many as you can afford) totally customize (well within reason) weapons, shields, ai, etc. as well as have stations, mines, farms, etc.
Right now I cheated ( :o ) and got myself a titan (a big ass ship) just to see what the puppy can do. Fought a few pirates, after the screen lighting up like the fourth of july, 5 pirate ships where down and my faithfull titan putting along like nothing had happened.
Suffice to say, this display put a crink in my plans to attack argons battlecrusier (ie earthlings command starship)...for now
Oh yes back on topic, for the cheap scott I am, of both nvidia and ati which one is the most powerfull and what does it cost?

nVidia FX5200, just like Xeno.
