Title: Cowboy Bebop
Description: Anime

Xenophon - October 8, 2005 05:27 AM (GMT)
This is an underground hit.

There is both a series and a movie out for it.

Right now I have only seen (and own) the movie and a few episodes, since I can't buy the series anywhere (so its off to torrent land).

I had heard from my friend (who shown me Ninja Scroll, Akira, and Perfect Blue) that Behop series is the bomb.

Well truth be told, he was right.

Even most people who don't like anime love this movie.

Can't say I blame them since its my favorite all time anime and on of my favorite movie overall.

This is a must see for all people who like Bounty Hunters, Star ships, somewhat insane plots, high ball characters, and just a a love for comedy and anime.

The characters are a rag tag group of bounty hunters held together, basically for the money.

Characters:

Spike Spiegel- The protagonist in the series, he is a lone wolf without the fear of death or pain. Master of Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's Martial Art) Spike travels the galaxy searching for bounties. Despite this it seems he is always low on funds with is comrade Jet. Spike also has an usual dislike for Tomboys, children and pets.

Jet Black- A 36 year old bounty hunter who was once part of the issp (police force). Jet is also the person Spike can stand to be around. This old man is the most down to earth man in the group.

Faye Valentine- Google Faye (just that word) and you will see her picture almost everywhere. She is a sexy vixen with an attitude, and is also a big Tomboy when it comes to guns and military vechicles. One of the central plots of the series is faye trying to remember her past, which she forgot when awaked from deep freeze.

Ed- A genius hacker, and a spunky teenager. Her feral attitude results in some weird moments on the screen. Not much else to say about her, besides that she invited herself into the group.

Ein- Quite possibly the smartest of the group. A genetic experiment this normal looking dog possess the mind as sharp as most humans. This furry friend joined before Ed or Faye.

Bebop- Once used to catch fish and transport them, it has been bought second hand by Jet and equiped with a powerful communication grid and some good engines. This is the home base for the group.

Also the term Cowboy is used by people around the galaxy, it refers to bounty hunters.

I hope you guys enjoy the series as much as I have.

Yeah, I've seen a few episodes but they don't air it up here anymore so I can't see much of it. I do enjoy it though, its a pretty good show.

I'm not an anime fan at all, but I did buy the Cowboy Bebop dvd set. Great series. Good storylines, very memorable characters (yes, I got a little teary when Ed and Ein took off. Leave me alone). The music and animation are also top-notch. The movie was pretty good to.

So I am not alone out there :paperbag:

I never did like animes, but when I saw this (and a few others) I got hooked.

I also liked the movie, however I am not sure where it takes place within the series? I believe it is after show 17.

The last two episodes where amazing, with a good chuck of the series building up to it. Truth be told I never expected the ending.

Yea, its great. When i watched it there were no DVD sets or other facy items, just the finding on the internet.
Akira and Ninja Scroll are als great. :D

A few more i would recomend:
Laputa
Princess Mononoke
Vampire Hunter D

:o Excellent, I will have to watch then :D

Heard of Vampire Hunter, but not of Laputa. I'll scope these out later.

I'm not the biggest fan of anime, but some is okay. I've got a good friend that loves Cowboy Bebop. I too have seen Princess Mononoke, that's pretty good.

The last episode of Cowboy bebop made me cry (unashamed about it either).

I thought it would happen, prayed it would not and broke down like a bloody 6 year girl (for a minute or two I do have SOME male pride).

No other anime has been able to come close (though akira...)
