Anybody else frothing at the mouth waiting for this RTW mod to open up?

Sorry, but not really.

I like RTR a lot and EB dosen't sound all that interesting. Besides they are going to wait until the expansion is out before they release.

The only reason I would get that mod is if you figured out a way around the hard coded 240 unit max (250 or so if you include officers).

Did you read their latest Countdown to Open Beta- thread? And of course the map is much bigger. All factions have individual units, unlike in RTW where all the regional factions have the same tech tree and unit trees. I guess it's more for the people who want the historical aspect down to a tee and don't really care about the balance as long as it's authentic. RTR is a good mixture of the two though.

And about waiting for the expansion, I believe open beta will be soon, because their countdown has only two faction previews left, they come weekly-ish.

I can't wait for EB. RTR is cool, but EB is the one I've really been waiting for.

Whats so special about EB? Besides realism (im all for it, but if one faction is too overpowered then the game gets boring after a while).

Is their any mods one most have for this game?

Is there any for the damned hardcoded 240 units (doubt it but you never know)?

No existing units from vanilla are in EB, for a start. And because the start date, in the nature of the time no one faction is overpowered. It is after the time of the Macedonians and the time of the early Romans.

Also, they have implimented "governments", unique winning conditions for every faction, new traits/ancillaries, a huge map, and an in-depth "rebel" system. Also there are loads of new buildings. Just check the thread I put up there and browse through the forums.

But like I said, due to the nature of the time, no one faction will be all-powerful. It will actually be harder than vanilla.

Interesting, I might give this a go when it comes out.
