Hello there, I'm a 20 y/o education student from Miami, Fl. I've been following the RV project since '02 and have been set on playing as a barbarian ever since.

In addition to studying, I work part time at a local elemetary afterschool program and at a reptile importer. I play violin and trombone in several styles, concerto, jazz, latin, reggae, and my favorite, ska. Been playing music for about 9 years now. I consider gaming another important hobby of mine, and if im not playing with my band, then were at the bassist's house playing Super Smash Bros tournies (n64 version). Weight lifting, paintball, and fraternizing are another couple of my usual activities.

My all-time MMO addiction award goes to Ultima Online and the many player-run shards I've had my hand in. Aside from that I enjoyed Dark Ages, City of Heroes, EVE Online, and WoW. Although I dont subscribe to any of them anymore. Neverwinter Nights and Morromind both deserve mention, and I still hold a special place for the old pen & paper style Star Wars communities.

I have always kept an eye open for promising Barbarian guilds and the few others I have looked into are RP guilds, which is a wee bit of a turn off at this stage of the game. I am really quite interested in becoming a member of this guild particularly because of the emphasis I see placed on infrastructure. I feel that the more work put into the beginning with farming, building, and trade skills, then the more we could enjoy our own goals after the community establishes itself. In my personal case, I would be delighted to work the fields farming, gathering, or constructing, and then when it comes to it, running around naked carrying the biggest axe I can find.

What is you Roma-Victor name? (provide link to profile please)

Why do you wish to join a guild now?

Why do you want to be Barbarian?

Why do you wish to join this guild?

I assume that you wish to be a farmer?

Have you read any greek philoshpers, Sun Tzu, or such great minds?

Do you program any?

Are you any good with creating websites?

Where would you like be situated in game?

Would you mind some roleplaying? Such as names?

-My forum name is Dice. No rhyme or reason I can recall, just sounded nice.

Why do you wish to join a guild now?
-With the project's release coming up, the time to become close with your guild is getting shorter. I feel that this group stands apart and I would like to spend the last months leading up release finding my place within it.

Why do you want to be Barbarian?
-I don't have a strong background in history, so there isn't any sort of historical romance in my case, but I do find myself very excited about being let into the wild, to fend and prosper with my fellow man. Rather than be born into an established society.

Why do you wish to join this guild?
-What I found to be most appealing was the emphasis on infrastructure. That as well as the application process, and what I believe is an approval system by the leaders, by which one could assume the majority of approved members are of quality.

I assume that you wish to be a farmer?
-My only real dislike of trade is mining/smithing, and that comes from playing UO too much. But yes, if farming needs to be done, then im on it.

Have you read any greek philoshpers, Sun Tzu, or such great minds?
-Nothing of significance that I can recall. Although I loved Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure.

Do you program any?
-I play with BASIC for giggles, but no, no practical programming experience.

Are you any good with creating websites?
-I consider myself fairly creative. I offer my suggestions and critiques, but thats as far as it goes. I assume by creating websites you would expect a good understanding of html, I can work with applications like frontpage or dreamweaver but nothing I would win an award for.

Where would you like be situated in game?
-Speaking of geographically? I have no preference.

Would you mind some roleplaying? Such as names?
-I really enjoy roleplaying. I just think that business needs to be taken care of in this sort of game first, before pure RP could be fully appreciated. I believe that names should be relative to ever MMO (more or less) unless theyre particularly clever. Casual RPing is something I will always do, to keep it from being a game of numbers.

I liked the rogue for the damage, but after the first time I got mind controlled and sent hurtling over the great lift, I went priest and loved it.

As far as I know of the economic plan it seems to be self-sufficiency, with small trade for scarce items.

If you haven't done so, please read our thread here: http://www.roma-victor.com/community/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5272

How long have you been playing trombone? I played it for four years (6th grade - 9th grade), then switched to Baritone since my school has 27 trombones and now 6 baritones, plus it guarentees me a spot on the field ;). One piece of advice: Don't buy chinese trombones on Ebay. That thing was falling apart after a month. <_<

Are you willing to follow the guild's rules, laws, or guidelines (whatever they are)?

What kind of degree are you going for at Miami? Not that important, but interesting none-the-less. (You said "Education Student," so that might mean teacher?
 )

I started on the trombone (not exactly but its a story) so I've been playing for 9 years on it. I did play baritone for a little while as well, and tuba. My band was one of those ghetto ones where it didnt matter what you have played all your life, if we need a tuba, then you get to forget about your 10 years playing flute and learn to play tuba, and learn to march while youre at it. Actually I bought my current horn on ebay, a slightly used 16m Stradivarius, for 400 bucks.

I'm still up in the air as to what I really want to get my degree in, but I'ts either going to be special education or secondary social studies. (just finishing all my pre-reqs, so I still have a little time to decide). But yes, a teacher. If there is a God with a twisted sense of humor, I'll somehow end up teaching music.

And as far as following the guidelines of the guild, I dont trust my internet sarcasm, so I'll say yes.

I'm very sorry but you didn't pass the vote. 7 votes against you and 2 votes in your favour; a rather meager result if I say so myself.

I'm sure you'll find another clan to fit in.

Closed.

Ouch, that was unexpected. Ah, well, cheers.

Lhorkan - August 9, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
Best wishes with another clan Valik. ;)
