Title: Mithra
Mithra - August 4, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
Age: 19
Hobbies/sports:karate, reading, thinking, magik, playing the harmonica and guitar.
Previous/current RPG games played: I've administrated quite a few different MUDs.
Description of yourself: I am a university student, I have been going to college for two years now, in hopes of earning a degrees in history, computer science, and theology. The latter being only a minor, anyways, games have always fascinated me, and I have submitted code to quite a few open source MMORPG's and MUDs, though the MMORPGs I worked on never amounted to anything it taught me a few lessons about the virtual worlds we build for ourselves, and how to manage them. I have read "The Prince" which seems as though it is the Bible of the clan, at least that is the impression I got from reading your homepage, it is a brilliant book, no doubt about it. I stumbled upon Roma Victor back a few months ago, but decided to wait until the game emerged from beta into the playable and enjoyable game.
Tell us what you will bring to our Guild and why you would like to join Brąthair Prasgan:
After looking through the guilds of Roma Victor, this was by far the most unique and most intriguing; another one of the my interests is the study of secret societies, and this one bears a few striking resemblances to the many I have read about.
Traken - August 4, 2005 06:50 PM (GMT)
Is that Machiavelli's "The Prince"? If so, I'm impressed. I love that book, even though I haven't managed to read through the whole thing yet.
You say Brąthair Prasgan "bears a few striking resemblances to the [secret societies] I have read about." Which ones come to mind, and how so?
What kind of history degree are you working towards? Is it a specific era, civilization, or just a broad spectrum? I'm also interested in why you decided to go with History and Computer Science as your two majors. I find both of them to be quite interesting, but can't think of much the two have to do with each other. ;)
What do you plan of doing the majority of your time in Roma Victor? For example, I plan to be a "professional" soldier for BP, while during peace and general down times I will be a miner.
If you have not done so, I would go read our
recruitment thread over at the Roma Victor forums. It will provide some knowledge on our military structure and economic system. I think you already have read this, but just want to make sure.
In regards to our economic system, will you be able to abide by the system set down by our members?
Will you be able to abide by the rules and decisions made by the majority of the clan, while also following the decisions of our three leaders (in times of need)?
Glad to see you have an interest in our little clan. I hope to see you around, if not here, then in Roma Victor.
/ hands microphone off to next surveyer.

No, it was the book writen by Pazzi the monkey ;). Yes it was Ol Nick's book, a classic, but it should not fall into the hands of an impressionable man, lord knows what sort of damage it could do.

The Knights Templar for one, since they fought together for only one objective, although they did many things together, and retained their oneness, they still kept to themselves, and were still indiviguals. It would be like the Sufi, if mysticism was added(I would be glad to interject some).

Since it has been two years I have taken a few pretty general classes, and found them much to easy, so then I threw myself into Roman history, political science, and World war two. On top of that, I enjoy being a polymath. :D

I was thinking of being a priest of some sort, but I'd also like to tend to the herds of animals, breed horses, etc.
In regards to our economic system, will you be able to abide by the system set down by our members?

Yes I submit myself to the guild, I will do exactly as I'm told, and will obey the majority's rulings.

I am as well. Are you willing to share these duties with me? *I am sure it will take more than one person to tend to our animals anyway* What do you plan to actually do as a priest? Priest is more of an RP thing, what skills do you plan to focus on.
Skill List

Good, another fellow historian.

Well, I wouldn't strive to be exactly like the Knights Templar, for one they were very corrupt perhaps because they were the most powerfull religious order threwout the middle ages. Basically the Knights templar was much less then the order they claimed to be, but more like a nation of very rich and extremest peoples that lived abroad. They even acted as mercs every now and then so, I doubt we truly are THAT similar to the Templars you speak of. Also this mysticism you speak of, did you know that the Templars actually funded studies of Kabbalah, or formally known as Jewish Mysticism.

Just the idea of the Knights Templar, not what it was in practice. It is like the difference between the ideas laid down by Karl Marx, and the nation Stalin created(yes, not Lenin, he did not live long enough to really influence the development of the Soviet union as a counry.)

Most everything in lore and some of the things in husbandry.

A Druid would be nice. You'd have to do some research on the druids though, it appears that you have the resources and maybe already the knowledge seeing as what you chose as your major. As the focal point of our culture you should be historically knowledgable above most of the others in the guild, this is one of the positions where for me the person really does need to be smart and keep a roleplaying persona. Would you be willing to take on this commitment?
Mordhak - August 5, 2005 07:18 AM (GMT)
MUD's you say? Awesome B) What MUD's? Since I've played quite a few myself.
Jolius - August 5, 2005 11:59 AM (GMT)
I played a few MUD's as well. I played Ardwolf(sp?) and some star wars one that was a blast. There was a lot of RP in the star wars one. I was kidnapped by some rebels and i had to bust out of jail and sold one of their ships (the dumb shits forgot to lock the door on my cell and i got out killed a guard to get the key out of the detention block).
Mordhak - August 5, 2005 01:31 PM (GMT)
I played First Age, Avalon-RPG (the two are very similar), and all of the Iron Realms Entertainment MUD's: Achaea, Aetolia and Imperian. I never tried Lusternia because it reeked of ass-suckery from miles away.
Too bad First Age became pay-to-play. $10 a month, jeez.

Anyway...
What did you think of our hompage?

Oddly enough I just read a long chapter on druids in the book "The Celts." It was interesting, but I think we could do better than copying Celtic religion, we could set up our own sort of system, with unique rites, and many gods.

Hard to remember ALL of them :D
Aardwolf, Achea, a few Moos(which I was moderators of), SMAUG, a few Diku muds with my friend(till his cat pissed in his computers internals, and a leak developed in his roof). I'll probably think of some more , but I have to go.

I thought it was well-done; neat, organized, simple, and elegant.

Very good indeed,
What attracted you to RV?
Cathair - August 6, 2005 02:35 AM (GMT)
I would prefer that our Druid would be the most historically accurate character in the game, and RPed the hardest. Would you be ok if you were not chosen to be a Druid?

I wouldn't really care, as I said, I will abide by the guild's plans for me.

I was looking for a historical mmorpg.

I may seem impatient, but I feel as though you've forgotten about my application, I'd just like to bump the thread.
Brennin Bark - August 8, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
Gotta give em some time, to let everyone vote. Patitnce grasshopper. I know the feeling.

Not at all, we are just considering what you said and answered. While not too much is happening here we are still talking on your poll in our private forum.
It looks good at the moment, but things have chance to change quickly depending on new information.
Well since your impatient I will give you some questions to pass the time:
Why did you choose us over the Tuatha Biatach? They have a nicer looking site (Sorry Nulli, but you have to admit it is pretty) and are more well known to the community (why I have no idea, besides maybe their site).
Why do you wish to be a druid? They are not likely to be major power in the game, with neither high combat skills, or able to accomulate wealth. You will, in essence, by what they where back then, poor and respected.
Being a druid for the entire time will get boring (I bet) what else are you interested in?
Why are you going to college instead of finding a job out of high school? What proffesion do you wish to be in or what area at least?

I'm not the least bit impatient, it's just I was worried that you forgot about my application, that is all.

I am always completly honest in my answers, I did consider a few other guilds, but I looked at their leader's posts, and made up my mind from that. I personally don't like Demson, and Tuatha just reminds me of some sort of insane cult, with people who become angry much too easily. It is a game after all, we are here to have fun. By the way, website layout doesn't really matter, I just care about the text.
Why do you wish to be a druid? They are not likely to be major power in the game, with neither high combat skills, or able to accomulate wealth. You will, in essence, by what they where back then, poor and respected.
I don't really like ingame combat, especially when it is like a first person shooter, becuase I become nervous. So I would rather live a peacful life and help the men who can really fight, I know my position in the world.

Smithing, construction, and horse-back riding.
Why are you going to college instead of finding a job out of high school? What proffesion do you wish to be in or what area at least?
Personally I hate manual labor, I always have, I hate any sort of menial task. I have gotten offers from Microsoft, so that is probably where I am going to end up working.

Mithra, I found striking similarities between your IP and the IP of Mr. Crowley who spammed our boards full of disgusting crap. According to my sources you live in the same city and may even be the same person.
Closed till everything is cleared up.
