I was looking for an MMORPG to play while its summer and before RV comes out, I was wondering if any of you guys played it, and if so is it any good?

I played it during beta and I'd say it's pretty good. I'm not too sure how the grinding is in the game, but Guild vs Guild can be fun as hell.

(I stopped playing because you could use any skill on a character, meaning no grinding. That's when GvG was fun...don't know about now.)

I play Dark Age of Camelot. Most fun MMORPG game I've ever played. It makes me a little frustrated that they pansied down Celtic mythology to a bunch of nature loving tree-huggers, but its still a great game with good balance. And Realm versus Realm is the best PvP system other than Guild Wars (GW is meant for pvp though) I've ever seen. If you like PvP you can PvP all day and get rewarded for it. If you don't like it you don't have to and won't ever be penalised for not doing it.

I personally don't like it very much. This is a post I had made on the darkfall boards recently with a few of the things I really don't like.

1. Yes, there is a low top lvl, but you still need to invest a lot of time to compete. The elite skills are really what are needed to compete at the top, after you reach the top lvl. It's still doesn't take as much time as it would in an MMO, but a lot more time than other competative games. Arena did a great job in fooling everyone into thinking this game was totally free after purchase, that it won't take hardly any time to get a character to the top, etc.

2. There is no crafting system. Just some gathering of random crap to give some more reasons to farm.

3. Limiting characters to only 8 spells does indeed make play plan things out more, but it makes things even more paper, scissor, rock. It also make the battles more mundane. Honestly, I'd rather have 40 hotkeys to choose from pending on situation. It does make characters less defined build wise, but more so it makes player skill in battle more of a factor.


Some other reasons I don't like it are things like, the largest battles are 8v8. Point, click, and throw in some hotkey battle system, etc.

Knight Online has the best relm vs relm in my opinion, you invade the enemies town, now how frickin cool is it watching 150 angry high level orcs coming at you when all you have to defend your town with are a bunch of noobs? pritty funny watching them get toasted lol.

Does DAOC have a monthly fee?

Yea, DAOC has a monthly fee. It's bearable, and they offer so many free patches (the guild system just got a huge free overhaul with many positives) that it's almost like just paying for expansions.

I have Guild Wars, played more than 60 hours untill now, I want to play more but the problem is that I always get disconnected. :rant:

You got disconnected of Guildwars lLhorkan? Wow I have dialup and I dont :o

Though GW crashes in almost any place I use my identification and salvage kits .... I gotta go to Guildhall (not so much bear on me Video Card)
