Mordhak - June 5, 2005 07:17 AM (GMT)
Maybe you should put Honduras under Capentry too. He's very good at crafting poles ;)

maf359 - June 5, 2005 07:24 AM (GMT)
Cooking, I think the professional army (Kaso) could look after that at the start until npcs take over the cooking

Honduras - June 5, 2005 07:31 AM (GMT)
Yeap, I am :D

al_ - June 5, 2005 07:37 AM (GMT)
We'll see what Kaso reckons about a temporary cooking position.

Lhorkan - June 5, 2005 07:46 AM (GMT)
I suppose there are some others that wanted to be smith. Not so sure though. :P

Good idea to make this thread though. ;)

Xenophon - June 5, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)
First off, nice Idea on this thread (and the post looks spiffy at that).

Could you also add diplomat- Xenophon, Mordhak, Al.

Soldiers (full time)- Kaso,... and the rest :P

Thats all I can think of that is missing.

P.S. Pinned.

NulliSecundus - June 5, 2005 09:10 AM (GMT)
Finance Minister *cough*

al_ - June 5, 2005 09:20 AM (GMT)
I will need to know what positions people have chosen who are in the military.

zelda12 - June 5, 2005 09:54 AM (GMT)
 I am actually going to do smelting and Smithing aswell. Woodcutting is just to help get things startted. :D As to military I'll be in the Cavalry.

al_ - June 5, 2005 10:01 AM (GMT)
Are you saying Zelda that you want to be a smith and a smelter and be in the military? That is quite a load. Maybe you could just be a smelter and do the military on a casual basis.

zelda12 - June 5, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
Thats what I meant, plus if I'm going to be chopping wood having a horse would be a good idea for speed and increased turnover. Which will also increase my riding skill so if I need to help the Army I have the skills nessecary.

On top of that:

Leaders: Mordhak and Xeno and Bthizle ;)

(Ok that was lame :P )

Methius Cursni - June 5, 2005 12:38 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, I was just wondering ... TB666 .... perhaps you can choose another career? No offense, but I dont weanna hear you play all day with your instrument ...especially when u are new at it :P

Lhorkan - June 5, 2005 12:48 PM (GMT)
He's full time soldier as well. ;) And are you in the same timezone? (could be)

The Red Baron - June 5, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
could you add me under there as A Calvaryman(Wartime) and a Hunter/Forager(Peace)

Kaso - June 5, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
I'll probably be an infantry soldier, even though everyone seems to think getting a horse is like buying a pack of gum. <_< Those things were not cheap and they probably won't be cheap in RV. Anyway, if Zelda is a smith and wants to be cavalry in wartime, then he should be under smith because that means he's just in the militia.

Edit Kaso- Oh yeah, I *might* do a little cooking. I'd prefer to hunt but if I have to I'll try and cook some.
Edit Kaso(again)-Make another "Militia" branch and use it to tell what everyone will do in wartime. It doesn't make sense to list the militia with the pro. soldiers.

The Red Baron - June 5, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
I plan to be a full time professional Calvarymen, but would do Hunting/Foraging if the clan absolutly needed it.

Kaso - June 6, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Am I the only infantryman we have?

Lhorkan - June 6, 2005 05:32 AM (GMT)
Well, I won't be a full-time soldier, but I suppose I'd be a infantryman as well. It depends on the price of the horses. In the beginning, all of us will be on foot anyways (but I doubt that we'll figh t in the beginning).

NulliSecundus - June 6, 2005 05:36 AM (GMT)
If needed I'll tend to the chickens, altough FM will take up most of my time.

Lhorkan - June 6, 2005 05:45 AM (GMT)

Yeah, you'll have to sit on a chair all day in the shadow of your hut and count the money over and over again. We're getting off topic though. <_<

al_ - June 6, 2005 07:39 AM (GMT)
Could everyone who is not planning on being a full time soldier please state what position you want in the militia.

maf359 - June 6, 2005 10:00 AM (GMT)
Cavalry as long as I'm good at it when I get to play the game

The Red Baron - June 6, 2005 12:39 PM (GMT)
OT: Al, could you fix up my name please? Sorry but its a little pet peeve of mine.

On Topic: I think Our Proffesional Army should at least be even with our militia in numbers.

Kaso - June 6, 2005 03:56 PM (GMT)
How about Mordhak and Honduras assign positions in the military or else we'll end up with 15 cavalry 2 infantry.

zelda12 - June 6, 2005 03:56 PM (GMT)
Hmm, if we do that positions should be assigned by skill.

Kaso - June 6, 2005 03:57 PM (GMT)
If we assign them by skill everyone will just spend all their time riding horses so that's what their best at, which means we'll end up with 15 cavalry 2 infantry.

zelda12 - June 6, 2005 04:38 PM (GMT)
No what I meant was that we have the army and militia split in two. Then the best riders are used in the cavalry and the best infantry in the infantry. That way those who want to become cavalry have to be the best to achieve it.

The Red Baron - June 6, 2005 04:45 PM (GMT)
well technically, we should mostly have men mounted on horses for raids and quicker ways to get to battles, but also, we should have more infantry than calvary in battle, I sit on the fence.

zelda12 - June 6, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Hmm, for that we could use mounted infantry.

Lhorkan - June 6, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
I'd say, put the horses aside, we'll see if we ever have enough funds to get those 15 horses. <_<

zelda12 - June 6, 2005 08:01 PM (GMT)
Maybe if we get the time or someone gets the inclination a horsebreeder might be a good job, and if it goes well we may even be able to make it a seriosu source of income.

The Red Baron - June 6, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
Or we can get as many as we can pay for and steal the rest.

al_ - June 7, 2005 03:29 AM (GMT)
Guys could you talk about military matters in the appropriate thread.

Kaso - June 7, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
This isn't a military matter. We're talking about the OCCUPATION problem wherein we have too many cavalry and too little infantry.

al_ - June 7, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
There is another occupation thread where you can debate these ideas. Basically I just want people to state what they want to do in the game.

Coda - June 7, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
Al, Im thinking I may be going along the line of a merchant now. Then as I raise money Ill be opening up more businesses for the town (tailor, tavern, etc.)...So I guess you can change mine to merchant.

nanook - June 7, 2005 05:18 PM (GMT)
I hope I am not to late to post here, but i would like to be siege engineer ( if that gets implemented ).

So for a siege I would man the big peashooters, but when we go to battle I will be an archer (infantry, light infantry but still infantry)

Methius Cursni - June 7, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
You know, Nulli has recently suggested that fdorwst place in Germania becuase the Danube will be too close. So, horsemen wouldnt be too good :( unless raiding villages. Perhaps we should at first only allow PCs to have horses? or vis-versa.
