Title: Legio Xxxiii Proposal
Tadeo - May 16, 2005 02:36 PM (GMT)
Hello,
I, Tadeo, Tribune Laticlavian of Legio XXXIII, was commanded to lay contacts with the guilds of Roma Victor.
Our Legion is not interested in beginning the game with hostilities between the guilds. A guild is a guild, be it Roman or Barbarian.
I invite you to have a look at our site by pressing
here, and join our forum if your interested in this alliance. You will be granted the status of diplomat if so. We would like you to do the same with me, the Legio XXXIII Diplomat.
I hope I can salute soon in our Forum,
Salvete Milites,
Tadeo
Lhorkan - May 16, 2005 04:00 PM (GMT)
We're always happy to make contact with other guilds. I suppose Xenophon, our head diplomat, will gladly take a look. :D
*winks at Xeno*

Second that, say arnt you the ones who've flooded me with recruitment pms?
Mordhak - May 17, 2005 02:41 PM (GMT)
I'll play diplomat this time; Xeno's already got enough work to do.
Xenophon - May 17, 2005 07:14 PM (GMT)
Thanks Mordhak, I'll hand this on off to you. Personally I would rather do your profiles right now then beat around the bush with a guild is handing out generic posts.
al_ - May 18, 2005 07:49 AM (GMT)
Yeah just forget about the other diplomat...
Tadeo - June 26, 2005 01:34 PM (GMT)
So are you guys interested? Sorry for the late reply, but all my bookmarks suddenly disappeared. Please contact me soon.

I think it isnt possible, for we are in BoN ...... which forbids any alliances with with romans.
zelda12 - June 26, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
But it does not prevent us from securing treaties regarding trade and non-agression.
Methius Cursni - June 26, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
No it doesnt prevent us, not in the very least. We should at least have non-agression pact. Perhaps trade too, though we may be too far from them.
Tadeo - June 27, 2005 07:54 AM (GMT)
Our Legion's Policy is quite simple.
We try to get aliances, just to assure we have safe borders. We will be located in Pannonia, quite close to the Empire Borders. We just don't want to be attacked right away by the people they call the Barbarians (not a good name I think). Trade would also be open for us if, indeed, it isen't to far located. We could trade trough the Rine, using boats.
Hope to have news soon,
Tadeo

Boats are not yet supported in RV.
Methius Cursni - June 27, 2005 12:00 PM (GMT)
Well, Alliances are too strong a policy .... this guild and other smart ones have to actually debate for quite a while if to accept Allies. Though (No offense to you) Romans are forbidden in having alliances with us. Though trade iguess is possible .... we'lll buy roman slaves ;) , (joking, yet not)
You can call tyhe "barbarians" by thier origin ...... such asGermanic, Gauls, Celtic, etc. That may be bettter :)

| this guild and other smart ones |
do you mean with that we are not smart or smart enough?
Pretty weird you don't want have an alliance with the Romans since you guys said "securing treaties regarding trade and non-agression." We Romans see that as an alliance to secure the safety, it's just another degree in the alliances, so you guys can call it as you want.
See ya soon,
Tadeo
Mordhak - June 27, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
Nevermind Methius. He's not supposed to be here anyhow.
We will see how trade will come along in the game, Tadeo. For now, I suppose we all agree with a non-aggression pact.
Methius Cursni - June 27, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
Lol, no ... i mean smart guilds (Roman and Barbarian) actually think before they ask for an Alliance, Which I guess your guild has. An Alliance is tooo binding.
Pannoia is like western turkey right? (Just curious)
Tadeo - June 28, 2005 12:18 PM (GMT)
A non-agression pact would be very good for starters!!!! And Pannonia is the Balkan (do you guys say it that way in english?)
zelda12 - June 28, 2005 12:22 PM (GMT)
Very close, we add an 's' on the end to make it plural. So it would be 'The Balklans'. :D
Tadeo - August 1, 2005 10:31 AM (GMT)
Oww ok
So, any chance on the non-aggression pact?
Tadeo
Mordhak - August 1, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
Yes, we're all fine with that. Not that we'll ever meet in-game, if you ask me ;)
Tadeo - August 3, 2005 02:24 PM (GMT)
On does never know what the Roman Empire commands....
NulliSecundus - August 3, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
I'm guessing the Roman Empire.
Kaso - August 3, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
He meant you never know what the Roman empire *will* command, Nulli.

No I think tadeo means ... the Roman Empire never knows whom it will be controlled by.

I do think Kaso is right. ;)
NulliSecundus - August 4, 2005 08:14 AM (GMT)
I know, just meeting a threat with sarcasm.
Mordhak - August 4, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
Spare us your would-be situational humor, Nulli. Now be a nice boy and clean out the shithouse.
I'll keep this open because of diplomatic reasons, but don't you dare spam in here again.
Tadeo - August 4, 2005 04:38 PM (GMT)
I was just saying that the Roman Empire might command that we have to attack you, instead we will try to solve it with discussions and treaties.
Mordhak - August 4, 2005 04:43 PM (GMT)
Not before I command the Roman Empire to be enslaved ;)

Then I supose we shall see how much your word and the word of your guild is worth.
If you pledge yourself to a pact with another guild it is more then just scribbles on a page, if you brake it there are more consequences then just at war with the guild you broke the pact with.
Other guilds will notice this break, and will be more prone to say no to your offers.
Tadeo - August 6, 2005 04:36 PM (GMT)
We Romans are true to our word and we do know what an alliance is you know.
Xenophon - August 7, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Knowing and following are two different things, roman, one doe's not make a pact with another country (or in this case guild) without at least suspecting that it may be broken.
Tadeo - August 9, 2005 11:26 AM (GMT)
You can be sure it won't be broken by us, again, we are Romans!!!!
zelda12 - August 9, 2005 01:20 PM (GMT)
"again"
Not really inspiring of trust.
Tadeo - August 9, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
again was meant to state that i have said it before (that we are Romans you know). Most of the time, comma's are used to change the intonation of a sentence you read.
zelda12 - August 9, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
In this case however the commas have made the "again" stand out from the sentence as it is a single word. It would have been better for your purpose if you had left out the commas.
Brennin Bark - August 9, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
Heehee, I did read that as "we won't betray you, this time."
I'd have put it: "You can be sure it won't be broken by us. Again, we are Romans!!!!"
Just nitpicking tho.
I know it is not my place to comment, but I'd suggest we take them at their face value, and agree to a non-agression, trade stance. That does not mean that we should disarm and turn our backs on them. I do NOT think that we should ally with Romans of any sort. I trust them, as long as I keep my hand on my sword. Trade would be good for all concerned, I would imagine.

As a member you have as much a right to say what you feel as anyone in the Guild. Just because you only just joined is no reason for anyone to say your opinion isn't worth as much as anyone elses. We are afterall a Brotherhood of equals.
Brennin Bark - August 9, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Oh, I'm aware of that. I just meant I'm not a diplomat and it's not my place to set policy. I should've been a little clearer.
zelda12 - August 9, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)
:D Thats ok, I generally go by the rule of thumb that only if either Xeno or Mordhak shout at me do I keep my nose out of something.
