I have been thinking, while doing my sh*t load of school work is that we should get a new and improved website for our guild.

I have gotten creative and thought of many ideas that should or could be implemented:

- Link to this forum of course.
- A new logo for our guild as the other one is neat, but bland.
- Photo area where we can post screen shots of our adventures in RV, Real life, and anything that is interesting or funny.
- If we can, have an option to instant message each on the site, ie like msn but we could personalize it.
- Have an area where people can put there reports on subjects, much like I did in Legio Leonis. It, in the very least, is good reading and it got me more involved with the guild.
- Fan art section; we could have our doodles posted on the site so people can see how good (in my case, how sh*tty) your skills are with drawing/editing (ie photoshop).
- Crosswords; I would love to make some crosswords that relate to RV, Brathair, or whatever.
- A fmv people can watch *cough* Lhorkan *cough*
- Puzzle games where you to put to togther a puzzle of a picture of the brathair or roman time related. This could be either the click and drop or arrow key kind.
- Background music that can be changed, or turned off. Maybe we can 'borrow' from kaza or newgrounds (don't laugh they have some good stuff there... you just have to find it).
- possibily a small games like pong (this game is very easy to code for and so addictive), artillery (you will spend hours playing this game I promise you). Maybe we could make it multiplayer so we could play against each other (now that would be sweat).
- Maybe an area where we could talk about events around the world (eg the royal wedding and such).
- Links to Roma Victor and other guilds for easy access.

Wow, thats a lot of things for the site to have... and I even forgot some of the others.

Just a few things:

A. Who can find/create a website?
B. Can anyone help out in some the areas such as the logo, puzzle, music, and so on?
C. Anybody got any more ideas? Any likes or dislikes in the options above?

I don't really see the need for all those games. What we need is a good, functional clan website. For games like pong, you can always visit game sites.

To tell you the truth...having too much stuff on the clan site isn't a good idea...the worst is having those flash intros that some clans have...think functionality.

I suppose. I have always like building on something plain. Maybe in time when he have our functional website working, we can look into the more flashly things.

Also that Fmv was meant to be a click and watch (like newgrounds). So you don't have to watch at all if you don't want.

Well Xeno, I'm sorry to say, but probably there will be no fmv. First of all, it isn't flash, but a normal .avi. Second, Since LL died, I haven't been busy with it anymore. Why? I wasted all my time on it. I can't do anything anymore with all that Roman stuff. It's plain useless now. And I have been experiencing serious trouble getting a character rigged and animated. So I propse this - I can make a a tour through or over a barbarian village/town, which won't be that much work. You should keep in mind though that there will be nothing alive in there, except for a few trees.

Good proposal? <_< Also, sometimes a good site makes a good reason to join. At first, we won't need anything special, but later, when this clan still excists (hopefully), and when we have some renown, we might want to make a better one.

Well, I would like that. But I know we probably will never have a site. Or a site better than some Frontpage or Word stuff.

Lhorkan, I know you don't want to make another FMV, while I was thinking of you I was also thinking of trying my hand messing around with macro media flash. Unfortunately the flash costs a shitload amount of dollars more then $600 and you'll be damned if you think I will pay that much. Lhorkan you said you used avi... do they have a demo I could use to make one? I think that will keep me occupied until I go back to work again.

Well, I use Lightwave, and it's really good when it comes to modelling, but animating can be sooooooooooooo frustrating... I somtimes lose control after a while and start bashing my computer a little. :woot (Edit Mordhak - it's a miracle the computer's still running... the screams I heard; you wouldn't believe it :unsure: ) I could make a very simple hut right now and put it in some grassy hills... If you have some time. :)

Unfortunately, there is no demo of Lightwave available. You could try Maya though, but I don't feel comfortable with it actually.. Up to you of course.

Also I wouldn't mind your house and the grassy hill. Note though that I still have an english and biology final exam (which are going to be absolute hell) so I will not have much time to work on it until I come back from Montreal.

Erm, Lightwave is really sooooooooooooo expensive, I think you don't even want to know. :ermm:

And Maya, well, I didn't do much with it. I checked out their learning package (or however they call it), but it seems a lot complexer than Lightwave. You could get used to, but after using Lightwave one or two years, I don't really feel like changing.

I will see what I can do for the village/house. It won't be much at first, but I hope I can show you something Wednesday... I'm too tired to do something still now. :P Sorry.

And also, learning to model is something which really takes some time... I was lucky, because my elder brother taught me the basics and such, but learning on your own... One tutorial after the other I tell you. :) I bought me the "Inside Lightwave 7.5" book, which is quite a very good book (:P), but I don't think you would buy that anyway. Just telling the possibilities.

Don't know a lot of Flash.. I tried it out once long ago, but never really got into it.

I see, my scotch blood curdles at the thought of buying such expensive products.

I will see if I can...cheat macro media flash into letting me play around with their product for more than a month.

As for that hill, no rush. I tried modling once, not to long ago I know its difficult...hmm just a sec I think I still have that program :unsure:

I personally think that we don't need a new website, this one is fine.

These are only the forums. In the far future, we might think about making a website.

Oh Wenis, your right we don't need one...right now. But since I'm not being paid for this job and the forums have been somewhat quite I want to try my hand at making websites so why not make one about the guild while I'm at it?

A site would be a good idea, I could/would/be more than happy to write a rant colume *like I do on another site* and I could write many of my philosophies.
Lol I can picture all of you thinking with puzzled looks on your face *whats a 14 year old going to know about philosophy* guess you'll all just have to wait and see.

After looking at Clan websites of other games it occured to me that I would spend a lot more time looking at a good clan website rather than some half baked rushed site. I believe if we wan't to raise a large guild then a website is a key advantage. However it is by no means essential.

It is somewhat Perplexing on how much you know about philosophy, but then again, in the U.S. our education is one of the poorest in the world, that is one drawback of no child left behind, it pulls back everyone else.

Good idea, maybe even an internet radio thingy, I have a freind at another clan for freelancer who set up a radio station that we could all listen to whilst playing. Good stuff as well.

Anywhoo, I know where to get Flash from a freind for zero £'s. :D And I was going to think about getting 3DX max but maybe I'll wait till after my Exams.
