Clan Techniques: Go to the
Clans Thread to see what Gifts/Blessings your clan has. You can choose by paying your Clan Points to get one of the Gifts/Blessings.
Notice: You don't HAVE to buy a Gift/Blessing of your Clan, you can wait to buy one later and save your Clan Points.
Techniques: One of the most important sections, although no where near as important as stats. These are the techniques you will use in your adventures. You may only have up to
Three Techniques if you are a
Neovan,
four techniques for a
Taivan,
five techniques for a
Kiovan, and
six techniques for a
Xaivan.
- You can gain more techniques as you go through storyline quests, maybe find items, or even clan gifts and blessings.
- You will also gain a technique every time you gain a rank. Every technique requires Life to use.
-Depending on how powerful the technique is depends how much Life it costs.
-The Admins and Pheonix Rank Mods will decide how much life each of the techniques you put here will cost.
- You make your own techniques
Technique Proficiency: You also have to pay exp. Points in order to become proficient in your techniques. If you are not proficient that means your technique almost always fails, it isn't very strong. If you are Proficient that means that You can do your technique as it is written.
Specialization in your Technique means that it costs
10 Life less (May not lower the Life cost any lower than 5) and it means you can do it
two times for every
one Spirit. So if you have 2 Spirit that means you can do the technique 4 times, or it means you can do a proficient technique 1 time and your specialized technique 2 times.
Admins and Pheonix Rank Mods will determine how much exp. points it is to become proficient, and just as in the weapons it costs two times as much to be proficient to be specialized, and you already must be proficient to specialize in it.Life Energy Life energy can be called anything you want, Chi, Kai, Chakra, or just Energy: they're all mostly the same thing. The people who can manipulate this are just manipulating what's already there. So your techniques you do can not create anything which isn't already there, so for instance you can't just create a dragon in front of you to destroy a city, and you cannot destroy matter. So you can't just make a whole city dissapear into nothing.
You CAN have a technique which manipulates whats already there, like if you had a technique where you would reach into the ground and when you brought your arm up there would be rock covering it in a sheild. That is just manipulating rock which was in the earth using your Energy (Kai, Chi, Chakra). There are some exceptions, as for instance: Creating a fireball would be ok since you could just say you are combusting your Energy into the fireball or even saying that you are combusting materials in the air. You aren't creating a fireball, you are changing your Energy (or materials in the air) into the fireball.
Rules of Creating (Actually Rules of Changing would be a better title.)If you have to create something remember "In order to create something you must sacrifice something of equal or greater value". So if you wanted to have a technique which made a fireball the thing which is "of equal or greater value" is your Life Energy, and for most techniques you will make it will be the thing "of equal or greater value" but if you wanted to be able to have a technique which allowed you to manipulate metal you would need your Life Energy
and metal in order for it to be "of equal or greater value".
Continuing on... you may not have a technique which is too powerful. So even if I did allow you to create stuff you still would not be able to create a dragon to destroy a city because it is way too powerful. No calling an asteriod from space to land on a city either.
Technique Origionality: When creating your techniques you may NOT copy another character's techniques. The only reason you may is if you and another character are brothers/sisters or something similar, but I do not want to see the same technique on two different people.
The only exception to this is if one character teaches another a technique. In order to do this the character who is learning the technique must have an open technique slot (As in if you can have a max of 3 techniques, you only have two or one). Also, the technique must not require some sort of body part such as wings or horns, ect. if the learner does not have these things. Otherwise, it is fine to learn techniques from others.
To learn it the Teacher and the learner must post a thread RPing about learning the technique. Be realistic, it wont take only two posts to learn how to do a technique. The Learner has to pay the Training points required to become proficient at it PLUS 20% the origional Techniques' cost. The Teacher gains 20% of the Techniques' cost in experience points (Since even if you're the teacher you learn something new). The energy cost will be the same, and the specialization cost will be the same.
Teaching (Continued): You may teach another a weapon proficiency as long as you are proficient in it. In order to learn weapon proficiency one has to find another person who is proficient in it and can teach them. It may be an NPC, but in some cases other players may be willing to teach you how to become proficient in a weapon. The price for the student will be the same, but the teacher gains 25% of the experience it costs for one to become proficient at the weapon (Rounded up).
For specialization in a weapon you have to learn it from someone who is already specialized in that weapon, an NPC or a player. If a player the specialization will cost the same for the student, but the teacher gains 20% of the experience cost. The Teacher must already specialize in the weapon. You will have to post threads showing your learning process and the teacher must tutor you along the way.
Good RPing or else the teaching fails. If you choose to learn to become proficient in a weapon by an NPC, you'll have to find someone who is willing, although in your home guild (Or friend's guild) you can find someone who knows any of the weapons and are willing to teach you, but out on the road it is hard. In some cities are Training Dojos.
There is an exception to the rule of "no teaching a technique which requires a bodypart the other doesn't have". That is Mirror Teaching, which means you teach another person a technique which is like yours but isn't the same. Like if someone has a tail and his technique is to focus energy into his tail and to slash it at ultra high speeds which allow it to cut through stone, then that person can teach another (Who doesn't have a tail) a technique similar, such as using a whip, and focusing their energy into the whip and slashing through stone.
Or if someone has wings and their attack is to jump into the air and dive-bomb someone else, they could teach another (Who doesn't have wings) a technique which the user uses energy to jump really high into the air, as if they have wings and as they come down they can slash their weapon at the victim as they fall causing more damage.
This will require a lot of training posts (As in create a thread of you learning it or learn it in your adventure thread, but it had better take more than 1 post...) and the technique will cost usually more than the origional technique the teacher has, determined by admins and mods.
Tips: Also, just a tip: You may want more techniques which aren't so strong (So they don't cost much) but help your character out in some way. Like a technique which frees up the muscles so you can move faster. We might add something to your technique like for instance the last one we might add that strength goes down since you are freeing your muscles. But a technique like that would only be 6-10 strength as opposed to creating a fireball which would be 30 energy. You can use the Muscle one more times for less energy.
Also, You do not need to center your techniques around your clan. You can be in the Beast Clan and yet have techniques which involve a lot of weapons. Or be in the Energy Clan but have elemental techniques.
Don't forget to factor in your Spirit into deciding your techniques. Your spirit is how many times you can do techniques a day. So remember that!
